“Jamyia was soooo freaking sweet , full of life , and treat those babies with love . Blu was exhausted from having fun when he got home . I had to wake him up 🤣🤣. He will be back !”

“Savannah was great! She even sat down with my dog, who is terrified of grooming, and brushed through her ridiculously large amount of fur for 45 minutes! You can tell she has a love for animals.”

“Deby was absolutely phenomenal. It was my first time using Rover, and she made me and my dogs feel like seasoned veterans. She went above and beyond fitting around my schedule, and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone.”

“Porsha is fantastic! She has become my “go to” for pet sitting. I’ve requested her services 3 times now. My pups are always so happy when they see her. Porsha is dependable and so kind. I highly recommend her if you are looking to leave your pets with someone who will take great care of them in your absence.”

“Our golden retriever absolutely loved his visit with Jonathan and his family. He could not have been a more perfect host and it was really nice to have a previous golden retriever owner as a Rover host.”

“Our puppy had the best stay with Katie!!!! She was welcomed with a very excited embrace by Katie's sweet daughter, and every day we received great updates from Katie (and adorable photos) on how Ellie was doing! We will definitely have Ellie stay with Katie again the next time we are out of town! Thank you again - such a great experience!!!”

“Kelsey was awesome to say the least! She’s very flexible which was amazing with being stuck in a winter storm I didn’t have to worry about my pup at all. She made Kaia feel right at home and her two dogs played with Kaia great!”

“Jessica has kept Murphy twice for us. He sure seemed quite happy after Weekend #1. When we went back for his second visit and he practically ran inside, we knew he was treated quite well at Ms. Jessica’s house. She’s really good with him. Intermittent pictures help tremendously and she is an excellent communicator. A great sitter!”

“Katherine watched my pooch Bella and with every picture she texted me, Bella looked very excited, happy and loved while we were away for the Mother's Day weekend at that! Thank you soooo very much Katherine for watching Bella for me! I will definitely keep you as my puppy sitter! You were absolutely wonderful!! 🤗”

“I had to take a last minute trip out of state and used Rover for the first time. I chose Libby and she was absolutely wonderful. She was easy to book last minute and she took good care of my fur babies. I have a 9 year old Samoyed/Husky mix and a 6 month old Samoyed. She was very responsive and sent the best pictures and videos of my babies. I highly recommend her and I will definitely book with Libby again in the future.”

“Kimberley and her family were wonderful hosts for Bailey!!!! We had a meet and greet first, and she was very gentle with Bailey with the introduction of her other two cute pups! I really appreciated that! With the stay, she sent pictures and updated me! I really enjoyed meeting her and her family and loved that she took great care of him! She has become definitely my number 1 rover sitter!”

“Corlaeja really came through for me and Billy. It was a very last minute booking, and she was not only able to do it, she did it exceptionally well. My boy—who is a brat—looked happy and healthy in every photograph she sent (and she sent regular photographs). And, of course, he came back to me the same way I left him. I will definitely look to rebook with her the next time there is an opportunity. Thanks again!”

“Jesilyn accommodated our needs with very little notice with a smile on her face! She sent me photos and updates regularly. My dogs seemed happy around her and were safe and sound when I returned home. Will be booking with her again!”

“If I could leave 10 out of 5 stars I would! Amanda was wonderful and we could not have asked for a better experience. Besides being kind, gentle, and thoughtful, she was very caring and gave our dog lots of attention. We had multiple pictures and videos, which were so nice. She took Oliver on walks every day, not down the street, but to a park every day. She also fed him home cooked chicken (with my approval) to try to get him to eat (picky eater!). I know Oliver had a great time and it was so nice not worrying about our little boy! We will definitely use her again! Thank you Amanda!”

“Holly did an excellent job caring for my dog, from beginning to end! She made sure my pup was comfortable in her home and with her dog, and based on the interactions I saw in person and via video/photos, I have no doubt she treated my dog just like her own! She was super conscientious about removing toys my dog would likely chew/eat, and followed my "rules" about treats and food! It's evident she loves dogs and has experience caring for them, and that made it easy for me to leave my pup in her care!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Vestavia Hills
Kristen was an absolute joy to work with and Lulu seems to have had a ball. Communication was quick, easy and always to the point. Pictures were sent showing a very, very happy dog and so I am a very, very happy mama. I will definitely be calling on her again and am pleased to recommend her.

Madelynn was so great! I ended up needing a pet sitter very last minute and she not only replied to my initial message immediately, but she agreed to let me drop my fur baby off within about an hour! Not only was she super accommodating with such a last minute situation but she was just so nice and sweet. She sent me pics and updates and my dog just loved her. I could just tell from the little videos of they snuggling and playing :) She was just so great and I’m so glad we found her through Rover. Thank you Madelynn! 💕

Great experience! Austin accepted our last minute request, took care of my large 13 year old with arthritis, and managed his food and meds with no issue. It seems like he got plenty of walks and came home happy and healthy. I would absolutely board with Austin again!

Kendall was so attentive to Rosie! Rosie is a rescue who is afraid of the world around her, but Kendall took great care of her and never gave up when Rosie was unsure of her new surroundings, making her as comfortable as possible. I’m so appreciative of how sweet she was with Rosie and how she navigated her challenges, including trying to make sure our non-food-motivated dog ate regularly while we were gone. I would definitely book with Kendall again!

Abigail is amazing! She took such great care of my dog and treated him as if he were her pet. She was very responsive and communicative, sharing photos and updates while I was away. She is so kind, and it’s no wonder my dog was sad to leave when I picked him up! I can’t say enough good things about Abigail, and how comfortable I felt knowing my pet was in great hands.

They are truly wonderful!!! They were so kind even when my dogs were not the best behaved. They sent updates and always checked in with me if they thought either of my pups needed anything! They were so flexible with me throughout my scheduling changes as well. They were so kind, had such a nice place/ nice back yard for the dogs to run around as much as they needed! Completely recommend to anyone looking for amazing sitters 😊

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
