“Shea is incredible. She went above & beyond with my extremely senior cats. She was dependable, efficient & even dropped in unscheduled because she was concerned about their extreme water intake (she wanted to be absolutely sure they didn’t run out). They were well cared for & happy upon my return. It was a big relief to have Shea checking in on them.”
About: Hi, my name is Kelsey! I have had pets my entire life and have experience with dogs and cats (and other animals, just ask!). I work full-time from home, so I will have plenty of time to stay with and pamper your pup! I am incredibly reliable, trustworthy and flexible, and I will make sure your pup is very happy while they are with me! If you do have any questions, please feel free to send me a message and ask! I have a flexible schedule that allows pups to have a great balance of relax and play time. While I’m a homebody and I work from home, I try my best to stick to your buddy’s normal schedule. I do try to go to the gym and errands, so I always try to coordinate the appropriate times to ensure I am able to give everyone a smooth time with me. I take tons of pictures paired with lots of updates on your buddy’s day while you’re away, so you can make sure they are comfortable and happy in their own environment. I always keep the house so clean it won't even feel like anyone was there after I leave!
“Melodie has watched our cats multiple times now over the past year or so. Top notch, highly recommended. Very attentive, great communication and able to give our senior cat his medication . They love her and we do too!”

About: Growing up with cats, dogs, and a turtle, I’ve always been an animal lover. Animals are my happy place. I have years of experience with lots of different temperaments and needs. From puppies and kittens, senior dogs and cats, the wild and excited, the shut down, scared or nervous, to everything in between. I am currently available weekdays and weekends for walks, playtime, and house sitting that meet your pets needs. I am also able to come for repeat walks/playtime during the day. I live in a townhome with a fenced patio where my dog loves to sunbathe and take in the scenery. We go on potty breaks and walks by leash with lots of sniff breaks (her favorite). In your home, depending on the style, I can play or supervise inside and outside fenced in play time. I will also take dogs on walks depending on your preference. I also love to give a treat after a good walk or playtime! Potty will always be picked up and dissuaded on walks. If waste needs to be cleaned during back yard time please let me know, I’m happy to keep your yard clean!
“Cody was fantastic with our cat Spike. I sent him a sitting request in a pinch when our sitter canceled the same day we were leaving town. Cody jumped in and did a fantastic job with Spike. Excellent communicator and very helpful. Highly recommend and will book again!”

“Katharine was so great with my pups and getting into my apartment (which can be difficult), literally don’t know what I’d do without her and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to show their pets some love and check in on them while they’re gone.”

“Sass did an excellent job taking care of our 2 cats! She was able to get 3 meds into our cat with her creative food mixtures! We recommend her highly and will use her again!”

“Hannah is awesome! She helped us last minute when we couldn’t get our normal sitter for Duke. She sent lots of pictures and I know Duke had a great time with her. Thanks Hannah!”

“Saraelizabeth was absolutely amazing with both our dog and cat! She always worked out ways to keep them engaged even if the weather was bad and even got our grumpy elderly cat to come up and love on her and play with her so she is a total cat whisperer. Even all the crazy energy our dog has didn’t deter her and we are so happy we trusted her with our pets while we were on vacation.”

“Carson did an amazing job watching our senior golden for us while we enjoyed vacation. We knew she was in good hands when we first met sweet Carson and continued to get thoughtful updates during the week. We will definitely be using Carson as a sitter again! Highly recommend”

“Great communication, and our animals loved her! Very detailed reports and lots of photos from each visit. Would definitely schedule her again and would absolutely recommend!”

Since, I have cared for not only my sisters set of 2 beautiful golden retrievers since they were brought home but other dogs of clients and I currently live with a cat! I am currently a 4th year medical student at UAB. My clinical rotation schedule currently is extremely light for the month of February I after 12 PM. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Vestavia Hills
Cameron was absolutely outstanding. We were away at the beach for a full week, and he took incredible care of our dogs the entire time. He went above and beyond, sending regular updates and photos that gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious from every picture and message that our dogs were happy, comfortable, and receiving plenty of attention and affection. Cameron treated them like they were his own. He was reliable, communicative, trustworthy, and genuinely cared about our pets. We cannot say enough good things about our experience. If you are looking for someone who will take exceptional care of your dogs and keep you informed every step of the way, Cameron is your guy. We will absolutely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a pet sitter. Five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Katharine has been my saving grace since getting my Benny boy. Her love and care for my puppy doesn’t go unnoticed. She is the most reliable help I have found so far, and I plan to keep her around for as long as she will let me. My Benny loves her and so do I! Thank you Katharine for all you do for us, and I absolutely recommend using her for your doggy needs! ❤️

Carson was absolutely amazing! She went over to my parents’ house every day to give my cat his medicine. She is a literal cat whisperer! My cat takes a long time to warm up to people and she was so patient with him on the first day. Eventually, he would run to her every time she came! She was very easy to communicate with, and I will definitely book her in the future!

Meredith was wonderful! We traveled from Iowa and feel very fortunate she was available. She provided a thoughtful update after each visit, including pictures, which gave us great peace of mind. She is kind, attentive, and truly caring—our dogs absolutely loved her. I highly recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
