“Cody did an incredible job with Sage. He was patient and let him get his initial rush of energy out and then sent me a few pictures and videos each day of Sage making new friends. Highly highly recommend Cody if you need some sitting assistance!”

“So happy to have booked a stay with Kimberley! We had a seamless experience! Great communication throughout the booking, and Kimberley and her family provided wonderful care for my pup! I will definitely rebook!”

“I gave a 5 star review, solely, based on how our baby hollered with his mouth wide open when it was time to go. We have never heard him wail like this ever before. He truly enjoyed himself. Thank you for taking such good care of our baby. He is still catching up on rest the following day. He was worn slap out! ❤️✅🎉”

“Lauren is amazing! She went above and beyond to make sure our spoiled pet was loved, snuggled, and cared for while we were away. She sent a ton of photos and updates. We will 100% recommend her and ask her to sit for us again in the future.”

“We have never had a bad booking on Rover BUT Chyra is the best, BAR NONE! She provides great instructions to set expectations. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND treating a hot spot that appeared, she gave me something to read explaining my dog's behavior AND she even went to the store for us to get some extra supplies we needed. If all of that doesn't say enough, i couldn't get Chadwick to leave with me... HOW EMBARRASSING! It goes without saying that we've found our forever sitter because the icing on the top is she's :10 minutes away from us!”

“Barrie is by far the best dog sitter that I have ever encountered. I loved the fact that she did a meet and greet with myself and my puppy, and instantly they bonded. The set up at Barrie’s house for my puppy was more than ideal, baby gates, kennels, food stations, and a large backyard. Thank you so much for watching and taking care of my puppy while I went out of town! Alicia Heckmann”

“Ashley was awesome with our two Boxer girls! Mags and Su had a blast playing in the big fenced back yard & with her pup and senior Boxer. I honestly think Su is going to have separation anxiety from Freya, she loved playing with her so much!! Ashley sent daily updates with photos/videos. We would highly recommend, especially if you have a Boxer, trusting Ashley with your fur babes!”

“Harold was fantastic with my two girls! He helped me out when I needed daycare last minute and I loved the pictures I got throughout the day. Would absolutely book again!”

“Jordyn was amazing with our very social and active Lagotto! I think he has been slightly depressed since he got home because of all the fun he had at her house. 😂 Every pic she sent was of him with what looked like a huge grin on his face. He had a blast and was well taken care of!”

“It was a pleasure to have Parris watch and take care of our almost 17 year old dog Vanilla for 5 days. Paris communicated very well, was prepared, and we highly recommend her! 👌”

“We are the second time with Deby and are as happy as the first time. Hope that she agrees to take care of our Kotik in the future - he says thank you and is looking forward to stay with Deby again.”

“Charlie was so sweet and flexible! Her and her girls took great care of my Milo. From the pictures she sent throughout the weekend, it seemed like he got plenty loving and had tons of fun!”

Honestly, Carli was the best! She took such amazing care of our eight-year-old goldendoodle Winston. He felt completely safe. Normally, he has a bit of a hunger, strike and get sad when we're gone, but he was in a good mood the whole time. She had a fenced in yard and took him on walks and gave us plenty of updates. Just a great and kind person who I would totally trust with our fur baby again.
Kayte and her husband took such amazing care of our Luna while we were away for five days. 🐾 From the very beginning, we felt comfortable knowing Luna was in great hands. Kayte sent us pictures and updates every day, which gave us so much peace while we were traveling. When we picked Luna up, we could tell she was loved, cared for, and most importantly… a happy dog! ❤️ We are so grateful we found someone right here in our neighborhood who treated Luna like family. We couldn’t be more pleased and would absolutely trust Kayte and her husband with Luna again. Thank you so much for loving our girl! 🐶

Alex and her family were absolutely incredible and I cannot begin to thank them enough. Our regular sitter cancelled on us last minute and we needed to find someone ASAP to watch our two boys for 8 nights over Christmas. Not only was Alex available on such short notice, but she invited me and the dogs to come visit her before our stay which completely reassured me and helped alleviate my fears that the dogs would be somewhere new for such a long stay. She sent pictures and videos every day and was wonderful to communicate with. It was so nice knowing my dogs were being loved on and taken care. Thank you SO much Alex!! ❤️🥰

My dog Duke had an AMAZING stay with Rachel and her family. She sent a ton of pictures and the cutest video while I was away and made his first stay unforgettable. Her home is so welcoming and comfy because she literally has a doggy AirBnB for your pet that makes them feel right at home with lots of space and yard to play and rest. I look forward to booking again and again with her in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
