“Kate was absolutely wonderful while caring for my cat during my time away. She administered medications, cleaned up unexpected messes, and made sure everything was taken care of with patience and attention. What I appreciated most was her communication. She provided detailed updates, photos, and messages throughout my trip, which gave me tremendous peace of mind. It was clear that she genuinely cared and treated my pet as if they were her own. I truly appreciated Kate's reliability, professionalism, and compassion. I would not hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

“Courtney was an amazing sitter! We had the best experience from meet and greet all the way through our stay. She was always on time and gave great updates I hope we can use her again.”

“Abby is an absolute gem of a cat sitter. She took such thoughtful and attentive care of my cat, and it gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She kept me updated with messages and photos, which I really appreciated, and it was clear my cat was comfortable and well-loved in her care. She’s reliable, communicative, and genuinely cares about the animals she watches. I would trust her again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who goes above and beyond.”

About: I’m 39 years old and there has been a pet in my life since I was 7. I’m an only child and my pets quickly became like siblings (we didn’t fight like them, promise). I became the primary caregiver for my mom’s two senior mini dachshunds a few years ago and was able to get them crate and pee-pad trained. One of them crossed the rainbow bridge sadly, but my other little old lady is doing well. I fall in love with every animal I see and I would love the chance to fall in love with yours. I’m currently working a full time second shift job (1pm-11pm) so I have the mornings completely open to check on your babies. I’m also a night owl and have no problem doing a nighttime check after work or begin an overnight stay. If you have a fenced yard, I will let them outside and let them do their business before tossing a ball or toy or running around with them to get the zoomies out. If no yard, then I will take them out on a leash for a walk then some playtime inside. Food and water will be checked and refilled; cuddles will be provided at will. :)
“This was our first time leaving our puppy overnight. We could not ask for a better person! Kayla was wonderful and helped us calm our anxious feelings about leaving him. The pictures gave me a sense of peace that he was in great hands. Will definitely be using Kayla soon!”

“Kayte was amazing to work with! She communicated quickly, was knowledgeable, friendly, kind, and took great care of my 2 cats. I will definitely use her pet sitting services again and highly recommend her! Thank you Kayte for taking such great care of Ridley and Olivia and giving me peace of mind while I was away.”

“Loved Tanya and would use again! My cat's food, water, and litter was all good, and she apparently even cleaned up a mess my cats had made of some bread I forgot to put away according to my neighbor/grandmother (sorry about that, by the way!)”
“Kyler has been amazing for our little girl! She is very reliable and punctual. She has come to our house everyday for 30 min check ins with our new puppy. She plays, helps train, cleans up after, and made sure our pup was happy the entire time she was with her! Couldn’t recommend her more!”

“Sara responded quickly to my messages and my same day request to check on my dog. She helped me with the mess my dog had made chewing up a floor mat. Sara messaged me to tell me what happened and I was able to get her help with everything that day. I’m so appreciative that she was able to help me out that day.”

About: I’ve taken care of all kinds of pets since I was a kid. I grew up with 10 dogs and 4 cats. I still dog sit for my parents all the time and they have 11 dogs. I also have 2 dogs of my own. I have tons of experience and there isn’t anyone who loves animals more! I work remotely, so I’m usually available and flexible most weekdays for drop-ins, walks, playtime, and check-ins. Since I’m home often, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. I follow any direction my clients give! I’m experienced giving medicine to dogs and I am very attentive to any and all pets. I am very detail oriented and very reliable.
“Very impressed with Emily! She was friendly, on time, followed instructions, took lots of pics, left detailed reports and our pets love her! Will definitely use her again and recommend her!”
“Gennifer did a terrific job and we couldn’t be happier. She came to meet the pups beforehand and did 2 drop-ins each day. (Also sent pictures each day!). Definitely recommended.”

“Jennifer was wonderful. This was our first time using “Rover” and it exceeded our expectations. Jennifer kept in touch with us and sent pics of our girl. We highly recommend Jennifer!!”

“Emilia is fantastic!!! She was responsive and communicated every visit ! Pictures of every dog every visit!! Emilia was able to book on short notice , showed up early for our meet and greet and communicated incredibly well throughout the stay. We are very grateful we found Emilia and I will absolutely book with her again. The best part of working with Emilia is she truly loves the animals she cares for. This is is so helpful as a dog mom who has separation anxiety! I love knowing my pups are having fun and getting lots of love when I have to be away. Also, my pack is a a little challenging ( everyone has their own personality) and Emilia picked up on all their silly ways right away. Big pulling dog that lunges at bikes but loves people? No problem for Emilia! Strong pullers who also like tug of war- not a problem. Thanks so much Emilia , your visits with my pack made such a difference when I had to be away. Thank you!”
“Elizabeth was great! She was good with my cat Nova who can be standoffish/cranky to new people and she does more than just the bare minimum you ask of her! She was also punctual. I’d definitely use her again”

“I wish I could give Jessica more than 5 stars! She is AWESOME!!🤩 Jessica made leaving our 2 kitties for the first time less stressful. She came by a week before to meet us, and get to know our cats. Jessica is very conscientious and did a great job of communicating with us in a timely manner! She sent many great pics of feeding and playing with our cats. They have found a new friend in Jessica! I would highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for someone to see to their fur babies. We will definitely request her services in the future. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience, Jessica!❤️”

Alana was absolutely wonderful watching my two cats while I was out of town for four days. She dropped in daily and sent fantastic updates and pictures each day, which I looked forward to and deeply appreciated. On top of taking excellent care of the cats, she went above and beyond by bringing my delivered packages inside so they wouldn't sit out on the porch. Alana is reliable, communicative, and genuinely cares about the animals she watches. I will absolutely be hiring her again in the future!

Kate did an excellent job taking care of our cats while we were out of town. She kept us updated throughout our trip with informative messages and gave our pets plenty of extra love and attention during each visit. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such great hands. We would absolutely book with Kate again and highly recommend her!

Jessie was amazing!! She was very dependable and took great care of our cat, Luna, while were on vacation. Our shy cat warmed up to her very quickly and was happy to see Jessie each day. We loved that Jessie sent us pictures and videos with daily updates. I could tell that Luna was in great hands and much less stressed. Jessie treated Luna just like her own fur baby and gave her all the love and attention she is used to getting while we are home. Overall, this was such a great experience, and I would recommend Jessie to anyone. We will definitely book again next time.

Meradith was absolutely wonderful with my cat while my husband and I went on our honeymoon! We got photos and an update every day and I knew he was in great hands. She went above and beyond! She will ABSOLUTELY be my first ask any time I need a sitter in the future.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pelham. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
