“Gayle took great care of our dogs and cat, including handling different needs for each, lots of loving and pets, and good updates! It was our first time using Gayle and she gave us great peace of mind.”

“Rebekah was the best. I have a very “quirky” Aussie. Rebekah was patient and perfect with her. I was gone to my son’s wedding for 3 days. She gave me updates frequently and even sent pics. My pup was walked daily and was a happy girl when I got home. I had peace of mind knowing my pup was happy while I was gone. I will definitely be booking Rebekah again! She is an awesome pet sitter.”

“Catherine is the best! She is so sweet and intentional, and my sweet Knox had the best time with her. She even offers crafts, homemade treats, and paw-decures!! 💅🏼 Will be booking again”

“Hannah was above and beyond as not just a pet sitter, but also house sitter. You could tell she really enjoyed being with my pets and took great care of my home. She is very responsive, sweet, and sent me lots of pics and videos. Will absolutely book with her again.”
About: Dog owner & lover for decades. I have raised and cared for liters of puppies all the way up to adult senior dogs that require administering meds. I can accommodate the high energy pup with walks & hiking trails, but also love to be a snuggly couch companion to the adult senior dog as well! As a homemaker with school-aged children, I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pets the love, attention, and care they deserve. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and will treat your furry family members as if they were my own. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to their daily routine, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. I’m available during the day, evenings, overnight and on weekends, making it easy to accommodate your pet care needs. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, my priority is making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I follow each pet’s regular routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, playtime, medications (if needed), and plenty of affection. I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality and needs so they feel relaxed while you’re away. In a client’s home I respect your space, keep everything clean and tidy, and provide regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind. If pets stay in my home, they’ll receive lots of attention, exercise, and a calm, family-friendly environment where they’re treated like one of the family. My goal is to make every pet feel happy, safe, and well cared for until you’re back home.

“Sara is truly a great sitter. She took very good care of my senior dog. I told her and he showed her all of the issues that he has and she handled them with great care which put me at ease. I'll definitely be using her again.”

“Annie was great with our dog and cat. She took our dog on walks, fed them and gave them their meds, cleaned up after our cat when he got drive, and took tons of photos for us. We will be requesting her again!”

About: Hi, I'm Jess! I spent the last 10 years working as a professional dog groomer, and I just moved to Alabama from Utah. At home I've got two dogs of my own, a big lovable mutt and a tiny chihuahua, so I know exactly what it feels like to hand your dog over to someone else and just hope they'll be gentle and patient with them. Over the years I built a lot of my clients through word of mouth, because pet parents trusted me with their most precious dogs and kept coming back. I've worked a lot with older dogs who need extra care, anxious dogs who need a calm and steady hand, and puppies who are still figuring things out. That kind of experience taught me how to read a dog, slow down when they need it, and make sure they actually feel safe with me, not just tolerate the visit. I know how much your dog means to you. They're not just an animal you take care of, they're part of your family, and trusting someone else with them is a big deal. I want to be that person for you, someone you know will treat your dog with the same love and care you would. I work flexibly from home, which means I'm around most of the day and able to give your dog plenty of attention while you're away. I'm not squeezing visits in between other jobs or rushing through a walk, your dog gets real time and real companionship. Whether it's playtime, cuddles, or just keeping them company throughout the day, I have the flexibility to make sure they feel comfortable and loved the whole time you're gone. I will be home 99% of the time. I have a large backyard and 2 fur babies of my own to keep yours company. We have crates, water available 24/7, and separate feeding rooms if needed.

“Jessica is a caring and reliable sitter for us when we are out of town. She stays in contact with me as often as I send her messages and she kindly sends photos throughout the day. We will continue to book her services and we are thankful we met her.”

“Jill is a pleasure to work with. She is kind, caring, and courteous. She sent us frequent updates on our pet while we were gone and took excellent care of him. She is a pleasure to work with and we will definitely be using her again in the future.”
“I would book Kamryn to watch Diggs a thousand times over! She took extra time and care to make sure he was comfortable with her (he’s scan be pretty anxious with new people). She updated me several times a day about potties and feedings and took her time to hang out and play with him. I felt so comfortable leaving Diggs in her care!! I cannot thank her enough for the extra steps and reassurance she provided me that he was in the best care while I way away!!”

About: I am comfortable with dogs of all ages and sizes from my experience in a vet clinic. I know what to look for when a dog is feeling un well or anxious. I have my own dog that is a cocker spaniel and he lives to play! I currently work at a job where I handle multiple dogs at once and I love it! I go on lots of walks and have a big yard to play! I work a part time job and am in college in town. I Am home most of the day on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Saturdays are my busy days but am still available to board. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays are a little more unpredictable w my schedule but I am home by 5 maybe before. I have a large fenced yard and live across from a large dog friendly park/walking trail. I have a friendly dog to keep your baby company! If your dog is not crate trained it is no problem. And if they are, I have large crates.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chelsea walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chelsea maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chelsea choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chelsea. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
