About: I'm back after a brief hiatus with starting a new job! I am fully remote now, so I can hang out with your babies all day! I would LOVE to be your baby’s home away from home! 😍 My first and only sibling was a cockapoo named Mischief that I treated like my brother from the time I was born (peep my pics to see him in my Barbie car), so you can rest assured that your family will be treated like my family! I have experience with outdoor pets that come and go as they please to spoiled indoor babies that need all of the attention. I have volunteered with the GBHS and have pet sat for so many friends and relatives that it’s hard to keep count! My mom’s dog is a senior with special needs and I have a special place in my heart for sweet babies like her. I have one cat who is very independent and would prefer to be left alone and another cat that is a queen who wants to be cuddled all of the time…so lots of experience with various personalities and temperaments. Whether your pet loves to play all day or nap 24/7, I promise to make sure they are comfortable! 😎 I currently work from home full time and have a very pet friendly home. If you prefer your baby to be in a crate, I have a small carrier as well as a medium sized crate they can use; I even have a playpen area. My pets are all socialized with both cats and dogs and there are plenty of dog and cat toys to keep your pet entertained! Since I work from home, your pet will not be unsupervised and will have eyes on them at all times. They will have access to food and water as much as they could ever want and I can provide potty breaks as often as they need. I have a large walking area and open space around my apartment complex for pups as well as a separate litter box for kitties if your king/queen prefers their own. All of my pets drink from a water fountain that filters but I have plenty of bowls to go around if that is more your pet’s style! We are very low maintenance around here and can adapt to your baby’s needs since they are our guest! I am happy to accommodate any requests you have when it comes to training, schedules, breaking habits, etc.

About: I’m 39 years old and there has been a pet in my life since I was 7. I’m an only child and my pets quickly became like siblings (we didn’t fight like them, promise). I became the primary caregiver for my mom’s two senior mini dachshunds a few years ago and was able to get them crate and pee-pad trained. One of them crossed the rainbow bridge sadly, but my other little old lady is doing well. I fall in love with every animal I see and I would love the chance to fall in love with yours. I’m currently working a full time second shift job (1pm-11pm) so I have the mornings completely open to check on your babies. I’m also a night owl and have no problem doing a nighttime check after work or begin an overnight stay. If you have a fenced yard, I will let them outside and let them do their business before tossing a ball or toy or running around with them to get the zoomies out. If no yard, then I will take them out on a leash for a walk then some playtime inside. Food and water will be checked and refilled; cuddles will be provided at will. :)

I had an excellent experience with Jill. She was professional and courteous at all times. She was prompt with returning my initial inquiry and followed up with each step of the process in a very timely manner. My dog, Sasha, took to her right away - much faster than normal. By then end of the meet-n-greet, Sasha clearly considered Jill one of her "people". Plenty of pictures and communication during the sitting. Overall, I was very pleased and would use Jill's services as a sitter again without hesitation.

About: Dog owner & lover for decades. I have raised and cared for liters of puppies all the way up to adult senior dogs that require administering meds. I can accommodate the high energy pup with walks & hiking trails, but also love to be a snuggly couch companion to the adult senior dog as well! As a homemaker with school-aged children, I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pets the love, attention, and care they deserve. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and will treat your furry family members as if they were my own. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to their daily routine, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. I’m available during the day, evenings, overnight and on weekends, making it easy to accommodate your pet care needs. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, my priority is making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I follow each pet’s regular routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, playtime, medications (if needed), and plenty of affection. I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality and needs so they feel relaxed while you’re away. In a client’s home I respect your space, keep everything clean and tidy, and provide regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind. If pets stay in my home, they’ll receive lots of attention, exercise, and a calm, family-friendly environment where they’re treated like one of the family. My goal is to make every pet feel happy, safe, and well cared for until you’re back home.

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was a kiddo! Dogs and cats. I had my maltipoo, Georgie, for 18 years. I had my cowboy corgi, Squeaks, for 4 years and just recently lost him due to cancer. He is missed very much. My work schedule is very flexible. I work from home and usually within an hour of Birmingham. Rarely travel out of town. I make my own schedule. My latest pup, Squeaks, had cancer. He was on a holistic journey from July to Thanksgiving. He was on all natural supplements and I also cooked his food fresh every week. Ground turkey, sweet potatoes and veggies. Unfortunately, his Tumor had progressed and I had to make the best decision for him a few weeks ago.

About: Since 2016, I’ve provided loving, reliable care for dogs of every size and personality. Whether it’s overnight house sitting, medication support, long walks, or simply being a comforting presence, I make sure each animal feels safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. I communicate clearly and consistently, keeping you updated so you can relax while you’re away. My approach is gentle, attentive, and tailored to each dog’s routine and emotional needs. With references available and years of experience, I offer loving care when you can’t be there—because your dog deserves to feel at home, even when you’re not. I currently work part time and do online school part time. I am a hospitality coordinator at a business and then am working towards my ultrasound tech degree. I am gone for about 6 hours a day for work and then can spend the rest of the time at your house or dropping by to care for the dogs. I love movies and being a home body, so it is the perfect fit for me! I do not care for pets in my own home. I am available for overnight sitting in your home or drop in care. I care about safety and making sure it is secure and locked each time I leave. I wash the sheets if I stay overnight and make it seem like I was never there except for well-cared for pets.

Regan was an absolute blessing. My dog loved being able to spend time with her, and was really excited that she brought her dog Finn as well so he could have a buddy. FAQs for House Sitting - Meadowbrook

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Meadowbrook on Rover is $64.65 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 581 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Meadowbrook. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Meadowbrook walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Meadowbrook maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Meadowbrook choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Meadowbrook. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
