“As dog parents for the first time, we didn't know what to except leaving Curie for a week! Rachel took care of everything. She always kept us updated and sent an occasional pic when we missed her. Surprisingly Curie came back calmer, more obedient, with less biting habit. I'll surely recommend her service. Thanks Rachel.”

“My dog Kona had another great stay with Kelsey! I would absolutely recommend her. She is super accommodating, quick to get back to you and sends the best photos. Kona always has such a great time playing with her dogs and going for walks on the beach.”

“Cody and his wife were amazing! Not only did they treat Linus like a member of the family, but they were also super flexible when my flight was very delayed. Highly, highly recommend!”

“Danielle is the absolute best, and I’ll hear nothing to the contrary. This was my first time using Rover, and the sitter I originally booked cancelled on me morning of, but Danielle accepted our last minute request on a holiday weekend. I have an old dog with arthritis and medication who can be a picky eater at times, but that was no issue for Danielle. She not only made me feel at ease with constant updates and pictures, but she exercised and socialized him, and he may like her more than me now. My only regrets with this review are that everyone else will book her now and she’ll be unavailable next time we need boarding for a weekend”

“Ashley was wonderful. She kept me updated with daily photos and videos. My dog seemed to acclimate really well with her during the stay. I was very happy to get those daily updates. Thanks so much!”
“Lesley is amazing! My dachshund, Elli, had the best time with her. Her dog Scarlett is the sweetest, they cuddled the whole time. Lesley gave me so many updates and has a perfect setup.”

“Jordyn is the best. She gave us daily updates and was awesome with communication. In the past I took my dogs to a local dog boarding/daycare place and the dogs always seemed a little frazzled and anxious when I picked them up, but with Jordyn they were very happy and relaxed when they came back home and clearly well taken care of. I’ll be reaching out to her again for future bookings and highly recommend her to anyone.”

“Laderius and his family were available for last minute boarding. They kept me updated with regular photos and messages. If you’re looking for someone reliable, kind, and trustworthy to care for your pet, this is the right family. I’ll definitely be reaching out to them again in the future!”

“Jonathan and family provided a home away from home for our doggo. It was a long trip for us—6 days—and I was worried about our pup. But he thrived! It was such a great relief for me. I’m so grateful!”
“Addison was wonderful and so great with my pup! I enjoyed her daily picture updates. Riley got plenty of exercise as Addison took her to the park every day! We will be booking with Addison again!”

“Tilly had so much fun with her fur friend! And Jessica was GREAT! Very attentive and accommodating! She always sent photos when we asked! Tilly looked like she absolutely had a blast! We definitely recommend Jessica to anyone needing someone to sit their dog!”

“Wade and Morgan are AMAZING!! This was the longest I have ever left my pup so I was very nervous about being away from him but they made the entire experience effortless. They sent me picture updates every single day if not twice a day! My dog seemed to not want to leave their house and I could tell that he was very happy and very very well taken care of. I would recommend them to anyone who asks and I will definitely be booking with them again in the future! Thank you so so much Wade and Morgan I appreciate you guys more than you know!”

“Kendall is the best! Not only was she able to keep up with my pup, but she always reached out with updates! I was never worried about my dogs safety & I would 100% use Kendall again!”

“Merelee was extremely accommodating on a last minute booking. Walter had no trouble getting acclimated and making a new friend. We will definitely reach out to her for a re-booking when in the area!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Trussville
Cassandra was amazing! She watched my high-energy GSP mix puppy at her house for 6 nights and Piper came home happy and tired! Despite our trip putting us in a different time zone with limited service, Cassandra kept us updated on how Piper was doing and sent lots of pictures. When Piper got too adventurous outside and found herself with a bug bite that caused some swelling in her face, Cassandra let us know right away and went through lengths to get in touch with our vet and her own vet to treat with Benadryl. I felt like Piper was loved and taken care of the whole time! Would recommend Cassandra to anyone, but especially those with pups who need to be played with and exercised to burn off energy!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
