“Sarah responded quickly, was punctual for all check-ins, and took great care of our pets. Will definitely keep her at the top of our list next time we need pet sitting!”

“I am very very happy with my experience with Asha. I had a wonderful week long trip planned, but was worried about leaving my dogs at home. Not only did the photos with each drop in assure me that my dogs were doing great - Asha’s reports showed me that she understood my dogs and that they were in good hands. This is important because one of my dogs is very slow to trust people and has caused problems with other sitters (like refusing to come inside at all while I was gone). Asha provided great care and her updates helped me relax and enjoy my trip so much more.”

About: I have had a special connection with animals my whole life! My family would call me "the animal whisperer" because of how much I love and connect with creatures. I grew up with many different kinds of animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, turtles, snails, and frogs. I love to get to know the neighborhood cats and dogs and frequently pet sit for my neighbors in the area and would absolutely love to expand my creature friend circle. It would truly be an honor to get to know and take care of your furry friend. I am currently job searching and am not in school so I have a lot of pet sitting time to offer. Spending quality time with your pet will be my top priority. My home isn't available for pet sitting due to me having two cats who would not enjoy the company of other creatures! I am happy to come to your home to take care of your pet(s). I can do overnights if needed as well.
“Meranda did an awesome job with my cat! She left thoughtful messages every day about how he was doing and what they did together. She gave him lots of attention and even indulged him speaking with her through buttons!”

“Jason was great. He sent me photos of my cat and left detailed notes about his visit. I was nervous leaving my cat alone overnight as this was only the second time I’ve done that, but I felt very reassured with Jason taking care of her. I’ll definitely use him again next time I need a pet sitter.”

About: Hi! I’m Lauryn, a University of Iowa student who has been surrounded by dogs my entire life. Growing up with multiple dogs taught me how important patience, consistency, and love are when caring for pets. I understand that every dog has a different personality and routine. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, or simply needs someone to stop by for potty breaks and company, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I’ll always treat your pet like they’re my own. During every visit, I’ll send photo updates so you can feel confident knowing your dog is happy and safe while you’re away. I pride myself on being dependable, communicative, and flexible with scheduling. I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! I’m currently a student so I do have classes everyday but I am able to take care of pups in between them! I am able to care for your pet on week days. I will oblige to whatever fits your dogs needs! Whether that be going for walks, staying in your yard for a potty break, or just stopping in to give them some love!
About: I was raised with cats and have experience caring for cats with varying personalities. I have been dog walking for 7 years and would love to housesit for a family with both! I am a grad student looking for pet sitting opportunities in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. I have time to drop in for a walk or visit mornings before classes and afternoons between or after classes. I am unable to care for pets in my own home. I will not take jobs where pets in one home cannot coexist in the same space.

“Im thankful that Madison replied quickly and was able to meet me and my pets. She dropped in on my 2 dogs while I had a long day away from home. The photos showed them playing and getting pets. Madison put my mind at ease with the knowledge that my dogs were taken care of.”

About: I’ve taken care of many friends animals. I love sending photos of your animal to you and giving details about the day and their personalities . I tend to love spending time with them and get distracted into the pet trance! I work full time from 8:30 to 4:30ish everyday. Weekends are basically open if needed. I wake up early and go to bed early. Love a schedule with clear details to help my day go smooth! I cannot have animals in my own space sadly. About: I’ve watched many dogs and two cats over the past 4 years usually over family friend vacations. I’ve worked with reactive dogs as well as two young puppies. I spoil my dogs and would be happy to treat your pets with just as much love! I am a part time college student so I have a TON of time to pet sit! As I prepare for dental school in the fall, I will also be free for summer work. I love staying with dogs in either an environment they are used to or my own depending on what the pet parent prefers! There is a fenced in dog park behind my apartment that is never occupied where I run around with dogs. If it is occupied, I would walk around the park nearby with lots to smell on the trail. I also love giving dog baths, so that could totally be included!

About: I have taken care of cats and dogs since I was five. I grew up on a farm and understand the anxiety that a pet owner has when going on vacation and finding someone to love their pet as they love them. Well, have no fear! I am here to save the day! It is currently Summer time and so I have a lot of availability to be with your pet. I can stay the night at your home if necessary and can guarantee that your animal will not be a line. They will be lover, fed and cared for! I will travel to your home to ensure that your pet is in a familiar space. I will give them daily snuggles, walks and attention. “Christian is fantastic with Whimper and highly communicative. It is my first time leaving the country since my cat’s diabetes diagnosis and he has really helped put my mind at ease. I cannot recommend him highly enough!”

About: I have worked as a Supervisor at Wags Pet Resort and Hotel in Ankeny, IA for 5 years in October! I have worked with all different personalities, types, ages, sizes, and behavior of dogs. I have gained a lot of knowledge about dogs and the best ways to work with them based on their personalities and behaviors! I have experience with administering medication, baths, and caring for injuries. I would love to set up a meet and greet and understand your dog and your expectations of my visits! I am currently a Direct Support Professional and Personal Care Assistant in Iowa city! I also volunteer at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital! I have pretty open availability on the weekends and randomly throughout the weekdays! I will be as flexible as possible and willing to work with your schedule! I think it is important for your pet to be outside and running around or just getting attention depending on their behavior and moods! Due to my experience I am able to see what a dog needs and wants based on their actions and I am willing to spend time with them multiple times throughout the day!

This is the second time we've had Chastity watch our 3 dogs. This was for a couple drop in visits and just like the first time she went above and beyond! Our three pups were well cared for and we knew while we were away that everything would be fine with her in charge. So grateful for her services!

Madalyn was amazing with our dog Miley! She was able to watch her on super short notice and gave us updates with pictures each time which we really appreciated. She even asked to take her on a walk just because which was so nice and I know Miley loved it! Thank you so much!

I highly recommend Elizabeth! She has cared for our greyhounds a few times now and does a great job. She sends lots of pictures and keeps us in the loop about things - we love that. She's been flexible and able to provide care when needed. We will absolutely hire her again!!

Lyzzi is very dependable, professional, and exceeds expectations! She does a wonderful job with our shy pup. We asked for her help on short notice due to flight delays and she was very accommodating. We would be happy to continue booking with her as she has gained Munch's trust as well as ours!

Alexis did an excellent job with Snickers. she stopped in ahead of the date I needed her so she could meet Snickers and we could visit which was very helpful to both of us on the day I was gone she sent pictures so I know Snickers so I knew Snickers was absolutely in good hands. I will definitely contact Alexis again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
