About: I’ve taken care of quite a few dogs since I was young. I’ve had two dogs myself but currently don’t have any furry friends. I regularly dog-sit my parents’ dog and have occasionally watched other dogs. I do not work during the summer so I am home most of the time other than when running errands or the occasional day trip. This will allow me to keep whatever schedule your dog is used to. We have a fenced in yard with a few doggy neighbors. We do not have any furry pets at the moment so yours will get all the attention!
“Anastasiia was EXCELLENT!! Communication was great and she included daily pictures and videos. My dog has anxiety during storms and she was very compassionate with him. I couldn’t be happier with the way she treated Chipper!!”

Cannot recommend enough, we will definitely be booking Mattie again!”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and currently have a friendly 4-year-old Lab mix named Maverick. I also volunteer with local animal shelters, giving me experience with dogs of different ages, sizes, energy levels, and personalities. As a medical student, I’m used to staying organized, following detailed instructions, and paying close attention to routines and behavior. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. Whether your dog needs lots of exercise, extra patience, medication, or just a comfortable place to relax, I’m happy to tailor their care to their individual needs. I’m currently a medical student, and much of my coursework can be completed from home. This gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend plenty of time with the pets in my care throughout the day. While my schedule varies slightly week to week, I’m generally available for frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, meals, and plenty of companionship. I make every effort to keep your pet’s routine as consistent as possible while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced backyard for safe outdoor play and exercise, and I only board one guest dog at a time so they receive plenty of individual attention. I also have a friendly 4-year-old Lab mix who enjoys other dogs when it’s a good fit. I always take introductions slowly and make sure both dogs are comfortable before allowing interactions. I’m happy to accommodate specific feeding schedules, medications, crate routines, and any other instructions that help your pet feel at home.

“Nelson came over to house sit my cat who had never been alone before. I was very nervous about how my cat would handle being on their own, but Nelson watched him like his own and did a tremendous job. He stayed for a extended amount of time and made sure all my cats needs were met!”

“Katie is always so great with Jane! She consistently leaves great notes and sends lots of pictures every day. Jane is happy every time when we return, both from long and short trips. Would definitely recommend Katie!”

“Des was wonderful! Even when the garage code wasn't working and the house heating was acting up, she was diligent to keep me informed and resolve issues. She is a 10 out of 10! Our normally distrustful cats warmed up to her and looked forwarded to her visits.”

“Meredith was wonderful! My cats hid from my previous Rover cat sitter, but within a couple of days my Boulder cat was sitting on Meredith’s lap, and my Shire cat came out too. Highly recommended!”

About: Hi there! My name is Brennen. I’m a current MFA Grad student at the University of Iowa. I was born in Philly. I worked as a freelance artist and teacher, and I have a ton of experience taking care of various pets and animals such as dogs, cats, even a hamster and a snapping turtle lol! (Seriously though) I’m incredibly responsible and caring. From the time I was about 11, I walked and cared for my own dogs as well as family friends' and neighbors’ dogs. I have also house-sat for a few friends’ cats and dogs. Part of some of those experiences required me to walk, feed, brush, and even administer oral medication to the pet in my care. As a freelance artist and current student, I have flexible availability, and I am always willing to work with different and varying schedules. Right now I'm on Summer Break and will be going back home to Philly for a workshop in July, so I'll be local there for a bit. I am a very caring and understanding human with a calm and inviting demeanor. I do well with paying attention to detail. If there are specific in-home care needs, I am very adept at following said care instructions as well as taking as many notes as possible. I’m pretty flexible and generally good about working with other schedules. My calendar availability is loose, but please inquire within because I’m sure we can work something out. I’m super caring and responsible and have an eye for detail. If you have specific instructions for the care of your pet I adhere to them to the word and if things should come up, I am not afraid to ask questions and check in with the pet owners.

About: I got my first in 2019 and added another to the family in 2024. Not only was my second cat 3 months old when I adopted him, but he’s also orange. As you can imagine, I’ve seen it all. Cleaning up accidents, getting shouted at while trimming nails, and trying to appease a hungry creature whose bowl of food is literally right in front of him are all part of the gig, so I never expect perfect behavior. I embrace the chaos and love every second of it! I’ve been cat-sitting since I was in college, and I have experience caring for dogs, chinchillas, freshwater/saltwater fish, and aquatic invertebrates. Some kitties need a little extra attention or time to feel comfortable, so I might be able to stick around for a while if you don’t mind me working on my laptop at your kitchen table!
About: Hi, I’m Kaitlyn and I have 20+ years of experience caring for pets! I’ve helped family, neighbors and friends with pets of all ages, sizes and personalities. My experience has provided insight into how to comfortably care for most pets! I have a flexible work schedule to fit the unique needs of your pet, including walks over the lunch hour or care over the weekend. I have a fenced in yard and live in a quiet neighborhood with very walkable sidewalks. I’m getting familiar with the dog parks in the area and am always looking for a recommendation!

About: I've grown up caring for cats ranging from my own to the neighborhood strays. I've learned about the many different personalities that cats have including the shy hiders, the spicy kitties, the ones who just want to be fed and not interacted with, and the velcro kitties. I am very attentive to feeding routines, litter box needs, and recognizing stressors in cats! I have two kittens of my own: sweet black cats who were recently adopted. I promise you that your cat will get a calm, respectful presence and enjoy plenty of affection (if they want) under my care.
“Gina is AWESOME!! She responds quickly, pays attention to things around the house, and is super thoughtful with communication. Our cats did great with her and we will 100% be requesting Gina again in the future. Highly recommend!!”

“Madison was fantastic, she went above and beyond my expectations. She did everything that she was supposed to do on time and in a very professional manner. She saw several things that needed to be done that we hadn't talked about and she did them. This was a big help when I was several states away. I felt comfortable having her keep an eye on things. She also made friends with two very skittish cats. They normally don't come out if I'm not there. But they came out to meet Madison.”

“Kasey was an absolute blessing to us! Our daughter was admitted to Iowa City Hospital and we were traveling with our 2 fur babies. We had no idea how we would be able to visit her, but Kasey made it possible! Her location to the hospital is absolutely perfect! Her love of animals is extremely evident when you visit her lovely home! Knowing she will be able to care for our dogs for future hospital visits with our daughter gives us such peace of mind! You will not be disappointed if you choose Her!”

About: Hi everyone! My name is Reagan. I am 22 years old and I have been taking care of my own pets and neighbor’s pets for about 10 years now. I also currently work at a doggy daycare and boarding facility! I am a recent graduate from UIowa! I also currently work at a doggy daycare and boarding facility as a supervisor and dog handler. I would love to watch your fur children! I will follow whatever rules you leave for me very strictly. I am used to feeding schedules and potty schedules as well. I live in a two floor apartment so there is lots of room for play!
About: I have much enthusiasm for helping people and pets out, am experienced in babysitting, and work well when under pressure and memorize instructions very quickly! Recently graduated from undergrad, I’m currently a part time student at another university (fully online, only one class) so I have virtually all the free time these days ! I give my full attention to the pets, and I have a secure home with various ways for them to enjoy spending their time either playing or simply resting.
“This was my first time leaving my doggo with anyone from River and Ali was amazing! She was able to care for Benito, my Golden Retriever for a long day while I went to visit family just outside of town. She sent me updates regularly and Benito had a great time. She was super mindful of the cold weather and made sure Benito was safe from too extreme temperatures and still made sure to get some exercise and play time in. I appreciate Ali and know to reach out to her again when I need someone trustworthy to watch him for me whenever needed.”

About: Get to know me ~ It’s lovely to meet you! I’m Skylynn! But my friends call me “Lo”. I am a clinic services specialist at UIHC, an active reader, lover of nature—and I ADORE fur-babies! 💕 Pets have been part of my world since I could walk! I’ve shared my life with dogs and cats through every stage: from puppies with the zoomies to sweet, nonchalant seniors. In that time, I have learned to tailor walks and playtime to match each pet’s energy, keep a close eye on special diets, and gently handle medications and supplements when needed. Whether they’re shy, spunky, cuddly, or curious, I tune into their emotional needs: offering play, snuggles, and calm companionship that makes them feel right at home. I even handle brushing and nail trims, when requested, to help your sweet-faced, little fur-ball feel their best! No matter who I’m caring for, I bring kindness, patience, and a whole lot of heart to every visit! Friends, family, and clients have trusted me for years because I treat every pet like family. Because to me, they are! (También hablo español :) My Availability ~ I work full time at the U; Monday-Friday. On weekdays I am available in the afternoon and overnight (with pick-up at 7AM). I am available all weekend. Safety & Environment ~ In my home, your pet becomes part of the crew. I have two very friendly, well-socialized cats (you could be a robber and they’d still flop on their backs and ask for belly rubs all the same! 😂) and a playful (yet very respectful) Shiba Inu puppy who loves making new friends, while understanding boundaries. I take introductions slow and make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable. My neighborhood is walkable and safe. I’m right down the street from the police station, fire station, local vet, and S.T. Morrison Park! Which means lots of fun walks, fresh air, and enrichment time! (I’m all about protective safeguards and organization, so living in close proximity to aid and community enrichment was a must for me :) 🙌 I stick closely to your pet’s normal routine: feeding schedules, potty breaks, medications, cuddle preferences, crate time, you name it. I adjust to their vibe and your instruction.
About: I lost my dog last year and miss taking care of him, now that I have free time on my hands I'm looking to help take care of other dogs like I would my own. I treat pets like family and have experience with administering medications if needed and am willing to learn of any specific needs your pet has to take care of them like you would! I'm currently free most days and stay at home since my school schedule is very light for the next few months and have flexibility in it. I currently don't have any pets so there is no concern for socializing or introducing them. In addition I live in an apartment with a large grassy area where dogs can walk on and will use a leash while doing so to make sure your pet is safe.
“Megan is simply amazing! We are so lucky to have found her. She gets to know your dog and recognize the things they need to work on and help train them and report back to you about how to train and what is working well while she cares for them. We love the frequent updates she gives as well. She goes above and beyond what we were expecting for doggy daycare, and our puppy absolutely loves her!”
About: My experience includes behavior modification, rehabilitation and foster care. Since I was my daughters age I have been pet sitting and working with animals and would like to share the experience I work at home everyday but Thursday. We are available for dog walking and live close to a park trail and we are looking for a family interaction. Crate services, roaming and family integrated home. We are able to walk your animals and provide check ins. I know how animals are part of the family.
“Fantastic care giver for our dog. Equally fantastic person for dealing with scheduling uncertainties, changes, etc. Will definitely try to have her care for our dog the next time we’re in the Cedar Rapids vicinity. Thanks, Ashleigh!”
About: We love dogs and your little one will receive lots of love and one on one attention as we welcome him or her into our home. Our little Ronnie loves to play with dogs his own size or smaller. We don't have a fenced in yard, which means we will always be playing with and alongside your dog keeping him or her safe and happy and comfortable. We love to walk your dog also so he or she will get plenty of potty breaks and time to smell and get to know our neighborhood! We only care for one dog at a time, besides our own little guy Ronnie... so the two will become best friends! Faye is a full-time stay at home dog mom and my husband Rob helps take over dog care responsibilities after and before he goes to work. We make it a team effort so your dog will always have his or her needs met and get maximum love and attention. Safety comes first with your pet. We have a home that is safe and perfect for your little dog. We will welcome them into our family and treat them gently and with compassion... realizing that it's tough being away from your owners for a few days. “We were so grateful to have Sarah care for our rescue mutt Mochi. She was reliable, dependable, and truly caring—always giving our dog great walks and extra attention when we were busy. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pup was in such good hands. We sadly had to stop services after our dog passed away, but we will absolutely recommend her to friends and family. If we get another dog in the future, we’ll definitely be reaching out to Sarah again!”

“Matt has been a blessing & has eased our fears of leaving our girl for the day. Matt sent a photo update & stayed in communication with us on a trial run. I know my girl is in good hands with Matt & feel so much better about my day away.”

About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was a kid and have cared for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I’ve helped with everything from puppy energy to senior pets and even insulin injections for diabetic animals. I have two dogs and a cat of my own, including one reactive pup, so I’m very comfortable reading body language, handling leash reactivity, and keeping walks calm and safe. I know every pet is different, and I’m patient and attentive to what your animal needs. As a fellow Iowa City local, I understand how important it is to find someone you truly trust. Whether your pet needs structured walks, medication, playtime, or just extra love while you’re away, I’ll treat them like they’re my own!
“My dog's regular walker had a last-minute emergency and had to cancel on me right at the time of the scheduled walk. I quickly requested a walk with Brennen and he was at my house to walk my dog within 15 minutes of my request. He was super friendly, responsive, and helpful. I am very grateful and will absolutely use Brennen for walks in the future. I would definitely recommend him to anyone else looking for a walker.”

About: I have taken care of animals for the past 16 years. I have cared for my own family dogs and cat since I was 10. I now have my own cat for the past 3 years. I am gentle and cautious making sure your animal is always comfortable in my company. I do work in patient care, so while my patients are humans, all of my friends, family and coworkers would agree that I provide quality care for all living beings. I just graduated and I am looking for jobs preparing to move back home to Illinois. “Ali did a wonderful job of watching my 92 y/os Mom little white velcro dog. We felt like she listened to us and took loving care of him. Thanks for the great experience. We Highly recommend this sitter.”

“My dog Chloe immediately took to Ty's calm good nature. Ty has great communication and proved to be an excellent dog-sitter! He went above and beyond when he watched her an extra night and day while we were stranded from a snow storm. Would highly recommend him!”

“Once again, I’m so impressed by Travis & Danielle care for my fur baby. The communication was AWESOME through the whole stay! I would forever pick Travis and Danielle”

“Tiffany was amazing with my dog! She was communicative, reliable, and clearly cared about making sure everything went smoothly. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in great hands and would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better caretaker! He was highly communicative when it came to how my pet was doing as well as sending pictures. Very patient and helpful, especially good with younger dogs!!!”

“Auden was spectacular! Our dog sitter fell through at the last minute and Auden accepted our two-year old Pomsky literally two days before our trip. Hazy loved it there and really made a new friend in Auden’s dog Yen. She sent us pics and videos all throughout the week which were extremely appreciated. Will definitely rebook next time we go out of town!”
