About: I not only grew up around dogs, but I’ve worked in animal shelters and a pet resort, where I was responsible for the needs of dogs and cats. I earned 44 hours of volunteer work at the Humane Society in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., where I gave tours to potential dog owners. I worked at Pet Suites and LifeLine, where I ensured all pets received their food and/or medicine in a timely manner. I have fostered dogs for Angels Among Us and found homes for all of them. I also take an interest in dog training. I’m not a licensed trainer, but I enjoy teaching dogs manners and tricks. I have availability on Friday-Sunday. I’m very organized and plan my schedule carefully to ensure every pet receives the time, care, and consistency they deserve. I live in a pet-friendly apartment with other dog neighbors. There’s a lot of grass surrounding the complex. While at work, I prefer letting dogs roam unless they need to be in a crate.

“Shawna was absolutely amazing with Huggy! She took such great care of him while I was away for a few days, and her daily updates and photo check-ins gave me total peace of mind. Communication was super easy from start to finish, which made the whole boarding process completely stress-free. I’d trust her with Huggy again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable dog sitter!”

“Caitlynn is absolutely amazing! She was very responsive, kept me updated on Sage throughout my trip and sent pictures. didn’t have to worry if she was okay. This is my second booking on Rover. The first time was a nightmare, but I’m glad I gave it another shot. I will definitely be open to booking with Caitlynn again for sure.”

“I usually never do reviews. But if you need your pet taken care of, Gianna is that person. If I could leave Gianna any more stars I would! She’s so attentive and kind. She took care of my sweet boy for a little over a week and constantly gave me updates. It gave me a piece of mind knowing he was in good hands. I will definitely be rebooking.”

About: Hello! I've taken care of all kinds of pets since I was 10 and have dealt with plenty of furry (and scaly) friends. I have a 9 year old pup myself and many other reptiles (none in house) so I know exactly how I can make you and your pets have the best vacation away from home:) I'm currently working part-time and taking predominately online classes so I'm free to give your pups my full attention throughout the day. I'll be mostly home studying so I will be home and more than willing to take breaks to play with your pup! I live in an apartment with plenty of space inside to run around and friendly roommates who all love dogs so your pup will be in very loving hands. My room has plenty of space for a crate or bed so your pup can be right by me the whole night! I love walking and walk every day so walking is no issue:)
“Sage is great! She kept me updated and asked questions to make sure Kane was being taken care of in the best way. Kane enjoyed his time with her and her fur babies! Thank you Sage!”

“Toriana took excellent care of my girl!! She showed me around her apartment during the meet and greet to make sure both Clara and I would be comfortable with the space. She is a great communicator-sent me updates daily and lots of pictures. After meeting Toriana I knew she would take great care of Clara. I highly recommend her services would love to book with her again!”

“I highly recommend booking with Ana! I loved Ana, her family, and her business! Her property is so large and beautiful, and she seems to operate a very well-run establishment with thoughtful routines and lots of puppy play time. She has dogs separated into groups by size, but is also considerate enough to relocate dogs based on their energy levels/temperament (for example, she rotated my pup back and forth between groups because she is so high energy and loves to play!). She sent me photos and videos of my pup, despite having so many other pups to look after. I will DEFINITELY rebook with Ana next time I am in Gainesville.”

“Miranda watched our two big boys for a long weekend. It was their first extended time away from home. Miranda sent videos and kept in daily contact, to ease this anxious mommy’s nerves. Everything went well and the boys came home healthy and happy.”

“Abbey is so sweet and kept me updated with lots of pictures. I asked her to watch my dog last minute and she was more than willing to help which was so so awesome of her! Will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future! :)”

“We are thrilled to give Danielle 5 stars and 2 thumbs up! This was our first time sending out 2 dogs to a pet sitters house so we weren’t sure what to expect. Danielle communicated with us the whole time, sent tons of picture of super happy dogs, and was even super understanding when we returned home later than expected. Our dogs came back happy, healthy and exhausted. We could tell they had a great time. We will 100% use Danielle as a pet sitter again!”

“Maria ia awesome! We were very happy with Bella"s stay. Bella looked awesome when we picked her up and very excited. I recommend Maria to anyone looking for a great sitter. We will be using her in the future”

“Your pups would genuinely be missing out if you don't pick Emily as their caretaker. - She was incredible with our dogs and took such loving care of them. - She handled our dog's medication on perfect schedule - Sent us plenty of pictures and even videos to make sure we knew our pups weren't just doing okay, they were having the time of their lives. Our dogs were excited to see us, but clearly sad to leave when we came to pick them up. It's also worth mentioning that this was a last minute booking that she took on to help us out. You can't ask for a more kind or considerate person to take care of your fur babies than Emily!”

“Will and his wife were wonderful hosts to my cat, who was diagnosed with some medical issues and needed special attention. They kindly accommodated my requests and instructions, and gave her medications on time. They were incredibly kind, attentive and clearly very loving to her during her stay! The photos and videos Will sent clearly showed how relaxed my cat was during her stay (which is not usually the case when boarded) and that they made her feel at home. Communication was also excellent, with constant updates throughout her stay. Will definitely re-book with them!!”

About: I was 12 when my grandfather passed away, and in an attempt to fill that void, my parents got me my first pet, a Shih Tzu named Toby. Ever since, I’ve looked at pets as family, companions who bring comfort, joy, and unconditional love. Over the past year, I’ve cared for several of my friends’ dogs, spending nights with them, taking them on walks, and, of course, spoiling them with lots of love. It genuinely makes me happy to care for someone’s beloved family member, and I hope you’ll allow me the opportunity to care for yours! I work a full-time job Monday–Friday from 8 AM–5 PM, but my evenings are wide open for pet care. I also have most weekends off, giving me plenty of time to spend with your pet, whether that means going for walks, keeping them company, or giving them lots of love and attention. I live in an apartment complex with a dog park where we can have some fun and play if you’re comfortable with that! If not, we can always take a nice stroll around the neighborhood instead. I’m happy to follow whatever routine makes your pet feel most comfortable.

I was so pleased to find Carolina. My dog Allie is used to being around people most of the day, and Carolina’s home was perfect for her. Carolina took such great care of Allie in her home and provided daily updates, including photos and videos, to let me know that she was comfortable and adjusting well. Allie received lots of attention and belly rubs and went on daily walks. Carolina and her family provided a home away from home, and it was such a comfort to know that Allie was so well cared for while we were away. We will definitely book with her again in the future!

Rachel is one of the best sitters I’ve had for Eli. She sent multiple photos and updates every day, took him on several walks, and even found a dog he’d play with, which is rare for him. She was flexible when my plans changed, and I’d definitely book again. She knows dogs!

Will and his wife were wonderful hosts to my cat, who was diagnosed with some medical issues and needed special attention. Will definitely re-book with them!!

Jonathan always takes great care of Olive! Olive truly enjoys going to his house and hiding in all of the blankets. This is my second time leaving Olive in his care, she was happy to be going back and I could tell she remembered spending time there, that put me at ease while I was out of town. Will definitely book again in the future

We absolutely loved Tinsel’s stay with Nicole, and so did our dog! She had so much fun over the holiday at Nicole’s home. She had unrestricted access to a large, fully fenced backyard designed thoughtfully for dogs and plenty of space to explore indoors. Nicole was incredibly responsive and kept us updated with lots of adorable photos throughout the stay. We had a wonderful Rover experience and will definitely book with Nicole again! Highly recommended!

This was our first time using Rover, and Sarah made the entire experience easy and stress-free. From the very beginning, she was incredibly responsive during the booking process and answered all of our questions promptly. Sarah was also very flexible with our drop-off and pick-up times, which we greatly appreciated. Throughout Sparky's 4-night stay, she sent lots of pictures and regular updates, which gave us peace of mind and allowed us to see how much fun Sparky was having. It was clear that Sparky received plenty of attention, care, and affection while she was with Sarah. In fact, by the end of the stay, we were joking that Sparky might not want to come home because she was getting so much love and attention! She looked happy, comfortable, and completely spoiled in the best possible way. We couldn't have asked for a better first Rover experience and would absolutely book with Sarah again. Highly recommend! Thank you so much!!!

Our 18 year old dachshund had such a great time at Adam's. You could tell he felt comfortable and relaxed there. This says alot because our dog is normally an anxious old man when we go on vacation. Adam sent us pics daily and made sure Bentley didn't jump off of things (which is hard because he is impulsive as well). Adam's love for dogs is very apparent through his pet sitting skills. Highly recommend him for your dog's pet sitting needs!

I would first like to start out by saying I was a newbie at using Rover and boarding my dog. Shey and Michael were great with helping me feel comfortable. I have a large breed dog and they were knowledgeable and was able to take on caring for him. They did wonderful with updates. My dog, Bleu, got along very well with their dogs, especially Ocean! I had issues with my travel plans and they were flexible in allowing me to add on one more day at the last minute. I cannot rave enough about my booking. Definitely will be booking with them again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
