About: I have had my own dogs and cats my whole life and currently have one dog and one cat. I worked at an animal shelter through high school with all kinds of dogs and cats and am comfortable with pretty much anything they can throw at me. Sometimes accidents happen and it’s ok and sometimes they get scared when new people are around which is totally understandable. I’m very comfortable being patient with any animal who needs a little extra love and understanding. I am currently a full time student and usually my day is pretty open on any day I don’t have class and in between my classes. I have two pets of my own who I get up early to take care of before class and always make sure I’m home to take care of after class. Weekends that I’m not visiting family are usually completely free as well. In a client’s home, the most important thing for any nervous pet will be respecting boundaries. I have a nervous girl dog and girl cat so I totally understand when they are a little hesitant to new people. But if they are sociable and want plenty of love I can absolutely give that too. I am very good at reading their body language and actions to determine what they want or need in the moment and will absolutely respect that their space if they want that.

About: I’ve been caring for pets since I was 12 years old and have experience with a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, and even snakes. Having grown up with dogs of my own, I understand that every pet has a unique personality and routine. I love spending time outdoors and enjoy taking dogs on long walks, whether they prefer a leisurely stroll or need a good workout to burn off energy. My goal is to provide safe, attentive, and loving care so your pet feels happy and comfortable while you’re away, and you can have complete peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. I am currently in nursing school, which gives me a flexible schedule with pockets of time available throughout the week between classes and studying. I’m accustomed to early mornings and enjoy starting my day with outdoor activity, making walks and playtime with pets a great break from my studies. I love being active outside and would enjoy incorporating your pet into my routine, whether that means a long walk, some playtime, or simply providing companionship and attention throughout the day. My schedule allows me to be reliable and attentive while still balancing my academic responsibilities. The safety and well-being of your pet is my top priority. I will take time to learn your pet’s routine, personality, triggers, and any specific needs before providing care. I will always follow your instructions regarding feeding, medications, exercise, and home routines, and I will be attentive to your pet’s behavior and surroundings. During walks, I will use proper leash safety, avoid unsafe situations, and make sure your pet is comfortable and secure at all times. As a nursing student, I am trained to be detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and attentive to changes in health or behavior. I will provide regular updates and communicate with you throughout your pet’s care so you can feel confident that your furry family member is safe and well cared for.
“Amy is absolutely amazing and I can’t recommend her enough. Pretty last minute I needed to get someone to look after my senior german shepherd Sadie. Amy jumped in and helped and I could immediately tell that Sadie really loved Amy. Amy took great care of her and absolutely spoiled Sadie with love and playtime.”
“Our fur babies love Autumn! We love the way she cares for our Fur babies - it’s a win win for us because Autumn is also a delightful and genuine, trustworthy person. We have felt secure using her services and we look forward to working with her for years to come!! Thank you!”
“Danica was wonderful with our two Frenchies. I felt at ease leaving them in her hands during drop-in visits. She was professional and thorough. We will absolutely be using her again”

“This was our second time using Rover, and after having some issues with our first sitter, we were understandably nervous. Laura was truly night and day compared to that experience. She was absolutely wonderful! Everything you could hope for in a sitter. We worried all week while we were away, but we came home to two very happy dogs, which says everything. She also took great care of our guinea pig and even brought in our mail, which was such a thoughtful touch. Everything went smoothly, and we couldn’t be happier with the care she provided. We would absolutely use Laura again.”

“As a business owner in the boarding and dog industry myself, trusting someone to stay in my home and care for my dogs was a huge deal for me — especially since our dogs have quite a few senior and special-care needs. Jonathan absolutely exceeded every expectation. We are definitely “those” pet owners with a million instructions wanting everything done just right, and he handled all of it with patience, kindness, and professionalism. His communication was incredible. Any time I reached out, he responded within minutes, which gave me so much peace of mind while we were away. It’s very rare to find people you genuinely trust with your home and your animals, but he made the entire experience stress-free. The dogs were well cared for, happy, and all of their special needs were accommodated without issue. Honestly, this experience changed things for us. For the first time, we actually feel like we can travel and enjoy vacations without worrying the entire time. We’re already planning our next trip knowing we have a person we can truly rely on. Highly, highly recommend Johnathan Absolute gems.”

“First time booking with Katherine and will absolutely book again! She communicates wonderfully, included great pics and took excellent care of our babies! Highly recommend.”

“Alexis took amazing care of Clara while i was out for the day!! They played, went on walks and hung out in the house. Alexis was very thorough with her communication and sent me lots of pictures. I recommend her for services and plan on booking again!”

“My puppy came back in better shape than I left her. More mature and regulated, as well as freshly bathed. We both learned from the experience, care, and respect we received from these extremely competent sitters!”

“Victoria did a great job taking care of our two cats. She reliably texted me whenever questions arose, and the overall communication, as well as the actual sitting went as smooth as can be. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to know their pets in good hand!”

“Hilary is fantastic!! My German shepherd absolutely adores her. She is extremely courteous, very communicative, and clearly cares about dogs. I really appreciated how she first interacted with my dog to lay a good foundation for their future interactions. Highly recommend!!”

“Katie did a wonderful job taking care of our cats while we were out of state. I had so much peace of mind with Katie. She was very communicative, caring, and was great at interacting with our cats. One of ours is a picky eater, and Katie was so attentive to him, and managed to get him to eat his meals! They were so happy with Katie, will definitely rebook!”

“Katherine was able to accommodate my last-minute request which was a HUGE help to our family. She left great notes, took great pictures, and even took in all my packages that were delivered while we were away. Can’t wait to work with her again in the future!”

“Hailey did an INCREDIBLE job with our two kitties while we were gone! She befriended them easily, spoiled them, and made sure they had everything they needed. Will definitely be using her again in the future!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Gainesville
This was my first time using a sitter who wasn't family for my cat, and as an anxious cat mom, I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Jessica was exceptional with my cat's anxiety medication, followed all of her care instructions, and kept me updated throughout my trip. My cat is usually very shy and hesitant around new people, so seeing her come out, play, and feel completely comfortable with Jessica really speaks to how patient, gentle, and caring she is with animals. I wholeheartedly recommend her and will absolutely be using her again!

Haley did a wonderful job taking care of our cats while we were away. She was reliable, attentive, and kept us updated after each visit with lots of pictures, which gave us peace of mind knowing everyone was doing well at home. Our cats can be a little cautious with new people, and we really appreciated Haley giving them the time and space to feel comfortable. Everything was taken care of just as we asked. We would definitely recommend Haley and would be happy to have her care for our cats again!

This was our first experience with Autumn, and we could not be happier about the care she provided for our cats, Simon and Ashe. Simon, our diabetic indoor cat, usually does not respond to our absence well but Autumn found a way to engage him, not only succeeding in giving him all the necessary care and but also some enjoyable downtime. In her spare time, Autumn also attended to our shy outdoor cat, Ashe, making sure he would be well fed and have fresh water in scorching Florida weather. We cannot wait for Autumn to take care of our cats soon.

Aniya is AMAZING!! My husband and I have used her twice now and I cannot brag enough about her! She cares for my babies like they are hers! She spends quality time with them and makes sure they are well taken care of in every way possible! I will continue to use Aniya when we travel! She brings us so much peace of mind!

This was my second time booking with Sydney Marie, and I am so glad I did! She always leaves the most detailed cards with many photos so I can rest assured my cat is being well cared for. She even went above and beyond, bringing her own vacuum and litter bags when I ran out. Book Sydney Marie, you won’t regret it!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
