“Mary was terrific! Mary checked on our 15 year old girl (Cali) 4x a day and when we got home we could tell Cali had been well looked after because she was happy and lively (Cali is usually sad and cross with us when we first get home, but not this time!). Mary took great care to give Cali her different morning and evening pills, add fish oil for joints onto her food, take super cute photos, and even get some brushing in. It was so nice to know that Cali was in such good hands. We really look forward to booking again!”

“Best dog sitter I’ve ever had! Sent lots of pictures and very detailed written updates. I came home to very worn out dogs after lots of play with Nerissa! I will definitely be rebooking!”

“This was the first time we had left our cat, Annie, in someone else's care. Kat did a wonderful job of taking care of her and also taking the time to let Annie feel comfortable with her and to play with her. We would definitely want Kat to be our pet sitter again and highly recommend her.”

“We're always so excited to open up our phone and see all the pics Brooke sent us of our furbabies! She's really great about letting us know how the pets are feeling, and we really appreciate that she spends time making our kitty comfortable too. We're confident our babies are in great hands”

“Victoria has been a tremendous drop-in sitter for our dog, Hunter. Every visit gives us real peace of mind knowing he’s in such caring and reliable hands. She consistently checks his food and water, makes sure he’s comfortable, and takes the time to play with him so he feels loved while we’re away. We truly appreciate her communication, and the genuine care she shows. Highly recommend Victoria to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive sitter!”

About: Growing up, not only did we always have the typical "house dog'', but my father also raised beagle dogs as a hobby. At any one time we might have as many as 15 dogs at the house. And I loved every second of it. I'm 37 now, and my passion and love for animals have stayed the same. I have a lot of experience caring for older dogs and am very comfortable working with younger pups as well. We believe in play, healthy eating, and a lot of love and attention. I have two part-time jobs, one of which allows me to work from home. Otherwise, I am only away from the house from 1 PM to 4 PM Monday through Friday. I have a .5-acre fenced-in backyard/sideyard in the middle of Gainesville. It's truly a special place for a pup as we have a small pond, as well as plenty of toys and balls to play with. We can feed the dogs either once or twice daily depending on your preference. Fresh water is changed daily. Depending on the weather, should it cooperate, we will spend time in the morning outside and then, once again in the evening. Should the temperature get too high (let's be honest, it's going to be hot!) then I will move the dogs inside the 350 sq ft Florida room to stay cool. They're welcome to free roam in this area as it is a dog-safe area when I am not in the house, otherwise, they will have more access to the rest of the house. If your dog requires medication or special treatments of any kind, I am happy to oblige, so long as I can receive detailed instructions on said procedures. *I do have a dog of my own, Luna, who is a 6-year-old Golden Doodle. I also have 2 children, aged 6 and 9 who will be staying with me every other week. My dog and children all love other animals, but please feel free to notify me if you're concerned about this in any way. **Luna is up to date on all of her shots and is regularly treated for heartworms and fleas/ticks.

Richard went above and beyond caring for our girls, with not only the necessities, but also by giving them more love and attention than we had ever expected. We truly felt peace of mind knowing our girls were in great hands. Richard also made two new furry friends, which was impressive considering how shy our cats usually are, and sent us wonderful pictures at every visit. We are so grateful and more than satisfied! ❤️
Vanessa was an amazing pet sitter! She was very friendly and communicative throughout the entire time, which gave me so much peace of mind. I really appreciated all the updates and the pictures she sent of Luna and Miles. She made sure to walk Luna every evening and kept up with their routine perfectly. Vanessa was also very punctual with her drop-in visits, always arriving right on time. You can truly tell she cares about the pets she looks after. I would definitely book her again.

It was such a load off our minds to have Lacy check in on our kitties while we were on vacation. She let us know when she would be there and sent lots of pictures and videos of them which was nice when we were missing them! She also helped keeping an eye on things in and around the house. I will definitely use her services again!

Angelina was very caring and attentive with my two cats. They tend to be a bit on the shy side but they seemed to warm up to her right off the bat. She sent me multiple pictures throughout my trip so I never had to worry how things were going. They seemed to really enjoy the cat tv videos she would put on for them while she was there. At the end of the trip there was even a little goodie bag for them when I got back that included some pictures of my boys along with some treats and toys. Will definitely book again I I get the chance. :)

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
