Hello, my name is Nerissa, but my nickname is Jay! I'm a full-time graphic design student who enjoys caring for all kinds of animals in my spare time. - Summer Regulars 💌 Due to the high temperatures and heat during the summer, I will be on the lookout for heat intolerance & heat exhaustion, as this poses a real threat to dogs in Florida, especially with double-coated furbabies! I will make sure your pet in my care gets to have shaded and sniff enrichment time. - I always make sure to carry a dog water bottle as well to keep your pup hydrated, healthy, and comfortable. Regular walks will start back up after the summer heat simmers down. - Pet Care Experience 🐶🐈🦎 I have always been around pets ever since I was a child. I currently have two cats, 3 dogs, and a leopard gecko. I always make pet care a priority as a pet owner. I do lots of research on pet behaviors and am not afraid to ask questions. I have experience with fostering animals from week-old kittens to getting them socialized and ready to spend their lives in a fur-ever home! Within my own home, I love practicing commands with my recently adopted foster fail, Squirrel. I research force-free & reward-based training methods that I have started to implement into our lives as a hobby. Patience is the key when it comes to building a strong bond with your pup. I always strive to understand dogs' body language and what they're trying to communicate with us. I have lots of experience with Senior pets and love helping them thrive in their environment, whether that be administering and sticking with a medication routine, being couch potatoes together, or simply spending time outside sunbathing. On the other hand, I also have lots of experience with high-energy animals who need that mental stimulation and enrichment. I absolutely love providing all animals with stimulation, whether that be sniff walks, puzzle toys, or dog or cat TV. I have cared for animals with different needs, whether that be behaviorally, by age, or medical needs. I can administer and provide oral medications on a set schedule for any furbabies that might need it. Safety Requirements ⚠️ I do require a meet & greet (free of charge) to ensure your furbabies are comfortable with me in their environment. During this meeting, I want to know everything about your pets. - What's their favorite toy? Any medications or supplements that need to be given each day? Where's their room or crate for decompression time? Do they have a favorite rug that they sit on? What might trigger your pup, and do they have any reactivities? etc.

Jay was the most wonderful sitter. My fur fam (3 cats, 2 dogs) was happy and relaxed the entire time. They were communicative and took the best pictures. Also the house is clean and neat. This was the most relaxing vacation because I knew my fur babies were getting premium care and lots of love.

Schedule
I'm currently a full-time student who is studying graphic design, but luckily, my schedule is very open due to my work being on my laptop, so I'm very flexible when it comes to scheduling on a usual day. I also care for my fur babies at home. I usually go on walks with my Pomeranian, Lucky, on a regular day, and I make sure to brush his coat every other day. Pet care is deeply ingrained in my routine, and I'm always finding a way to make every furbaby comfortable and happy.

Safety, trust & environment
I love walking my own pets on trails and at parks when needed. I am also very cautious and aware of my surrounding especially if a dog is anxious or not as socialized around other animals. I always make sure to listen and understand a furbaby's boundaries and their very own personality to ensure safety and comfortability is the number 1 priority. I will make sure to always reassure you that your furbaby is safe under my care, and to send updates and ask questions if something is not clarified.
Pets
A typical day
I love being able to play with each furbaby in their own ways and what their specific personality calls for. I will find out what type of play style is theirs and how they prefer to get their zoomies out. I strive to mentally stimulate dogs through play sessions, whether that be playing fetch or with squeaky toys. As for senior dogs, if they prefer to be more on the calmer side and want cuddle sessions instead, I will definitely accommodate that too. For cats, I absolutely love playing with them and seeing their hunting instincts come out with wand toys. When it comes to downtime, I look forward to curating a calming environment and making sure the pet has all their needs checked off.
