Availability
Pet care is my primary employment, and while I aim to help whenever needed, that cannot compromise the quality of care each pet receives. I always discuss with the parent the needs and schedules of their pets prior to housesitting, being transparent about any other bookings I will be doing during the stay to assure that no pet goes without the care they need

Safety, trust & environment
I housesit frequently, maintaining the schedule and routines of the parents as best as possible to make a potentially strange time more comfortable for pets. This also includes leaving the house in top condition for the owners’ return with minimal care tasks to complete after time away from home.
Information Shannon M. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for a pet, it is most important to be aware of any ‘no’s’, such as allergies and other restrictions for the household or on walks. The next most important is need-be’s such as medications. The third most important is personality and communication/praise, to assure that your pets are always comfortable and content when I’m around!
A typical day
We will generally walk around the area of your neighborhood. The exception is if there is a favorite park, etc that we have been given permission to go to, then we will hop in my car and go play there! Of course the favorite games such as fetch and tug-of-war, but I’ve also been known to join our furry friends playing around in the grass!

Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Shannon😁 Thank you visiting my profile! I have been a pet sitter with Rover since September of 2019. I’ve made lots of new furry friends along the way, and I intend to make many more as pet care becomes my full time job 😄 I have always had a great love for and connection with animals. Since before my teens I have looked after neighborhood pets. Since then, I have cared for countless cats, dogs, reptiles, rodents, aquatic pets, and even larger animals such as horses. Over these years, I’ve gotten very comfortable with tending to all sorts of needs and quirks that our fuzzy fam have 🐱🐶🐰🐍🦜 I also have a vehicle to transport pets and/or crates if the occasion arises. I offer pet taxi to the park, the vet, or just around town for an outdoor adventure 🌻🌈☀️ We might even stop at Starbucks for a pup cup (with permission) 😊 My goal is to be of assistance in as many lives as possible, helping maintain the happiness and safety of all the furbabies! I truly enjoy each visit and stay, and I strive to be of the most support caring for our four (generally) legged friends 🐾❤️ Looking forward to it! 😄

Reviews

Shannon is a pleasure to work with. She's great with caring for our pet, and clearly also cares ABOUT our pet. Every visit she gave updates with good pix, assuring us that our pet was doing well and being himself, which demonstrated that he was comfortable with Shannon. I highly recommend her for your pet care.

Shannon was amazing! The dogs loved her and she sent photos and check-ins daily. Both our my pups are also on daily medication and she knew exactly what she was doing. I would highly recommend and will for sure use her again in the future.

Shannon was great. She was attentive and let us know regular updates. She was very compassionate and caring for our boys. We would definitely recommend and rebook.

Shannon was perfect! Very communicative and my pups and cats were happy and relaxed when I arrived home!
