“Alexis did a wonderful job! My dog is rather anxious, but Alexis did a great job taking care of her on a particularly stormy weekend. I appreciated Alexis’ communication (checking in but not too frequent). I would absolutely recommend Alexis to others.”

About: My dogs name is Libby. She is definitely a wild one! I’ve cared for dogs for over 10 years, to include caring for senior dogs through end of life care. During the day I’m a special education teacher, so have tons of patience and empathy! I’m comfortable administering medication, caring for hot spots or other treatments to vet orders, and keeping a watchful eye while you’re away! Teacher on summer break studying for law school, so your pup will get plenty of belly scratches and one on one attention. My dog loves being around other four legged friends, so they will have a built in bestie to run around with (or just sit around with). I have a fenced in backyard, with one playful and sweet young dog who loves everyone she meets. We are a very dog focused household, and are in the process of installing a doggy door so the pups can go in/out as they please (when we are home, it will be locked when out running errands).
“This is the first time I left Teddy with her care. She is absolutely great in taking care of my dog. Everyday she sends update and pictures of how Teddy is doing. I would keep Teddy in her care.”

“Wilhelmina was absolutely wonderful with Cleo - thank you for taking such good care of her and giving me updates throughout the trip! Would definitely book with you again in the future 😊”

“I could tell Olive have a wonderful time with Jonathan. She enjoyed being a couch potato and he comforted her during the storms. Will definitely reach out in the future for boarding if needed!”

“I just cannot overstate how please I was leaving Gee, our dog, with Chari. This was the first time we used Rover. It could not had gone better. Chari helped us before the visit to calm our concerns. Gee immediately felt at home when he was cheerfully greeted. Everything went so smoothly. Great Host. Great home. Happy dog. THANK YOU!!”

“He kept us updated all the time with lots of pictures and videos! He was able to win my pups heart and that in itself says a lot! Bayne was fed amazing meals that Alistair cooked and made himself! He was spoiled and overall had a great time over at Alistairs homestead! Thank you again for everything! We’ll be boarding with you again! :)”

“From the moment I met her, I had full confidence in Brenda because she told me that she wants to be a veterinarian!!! When I reunited with Kaussie, it was evident that Kaussie had already fallen in love with Brenda and her family due to the exceptional care he received. Also, Scooby played so well with Kaussie that I was overjoyed to see Kaussie make a new friend. Most of all, Brenda's backyard is incredibly spacious and securely fenced, so Kaussie might have been reluctant to come back to his home, lol. Choosing Brenda might have been a coincidence, but I truly believe it was the luckiest decision I made!”

“Terra was wonderful! She was flexible on drop-off and pickup times. She sent me photos every day. She took care of medicine as well as feeding. My dogs were truly content, and enjoyed interacting with her dogs. When I picked them up they gave me a "meh" look, as if to say, "but this place was so much fun!". Thank you Terra!”

“This was Mina’s first overnight stay away from home. Ana and her staff made it a very positive experience for Mina. I was impressed with the organization and commitment to quality care provided to our dog. Caregivers provided a warm caring environment and sent pictures and feedback during her stay. This eased my concerns for Mina during those days. The facilites are excellent. Mina got to play outdoors safely which she loves. Plenty of room to run around and enjoy the outdoor. Again, a big thank you to Ana and her team for a great stay.”

“Sage is great! She kept me updated and asked questions to make sure Kane was being taken care of in the best way. Kane enjoyed his time with her and her fur babies! Thank you Sage!”

“Christopher and his pup were good hosts for my dog. I appreciated his caring and engaged demeanor with my dog, his communication and the videos he sent. I felt my dog was well cared for, with exercise, feeding and meds well managed. Would recommend!”

“Teagan was a wonderful host for my Five Year Old pups first time boarding. She helped me out in a last minute booking while we were at the hospital for a day. She went above and beyond for the care she gave my little one. I am very much thankful for Teagan, and if we have to ever again do an overnight stay or just a day visit to Shands again I will always seek Teagan out every time.”

“Halle was kind enough to take Sushi on a short notice. She was incredibly sweet and allowed Sushi to feel as if she was at home. She communicated promptly and sent regular updates and pictures. She was very accommodating and flexible with drop-off and pick-up hours. Would absolutely book again!”

About: I always had cats growing up and have been a dog sitter for friends/family the past eight years. I’ve had a pup of my own for four years now and can’t imagine my life without her. I treat animals like children and understand how important it is to take care of others’ pets to their standard and beyond! I am a full-time teacher leaving my availability more limited during the school year but I am extremely open during the summer (unless I’m already booked). I do need a bit of notice but am willing to work out a plan at the last minute if possible! House sitting/Drop-Ins: I will always treat your home and belongings with the utmost respect. I’m a firm believer in leaving the home as clean or even cleaner than when I entered it. I will ensure your fur baby’s daily routine is met with careful attention to detail and comfort! Boarding: I have a fenced in backyard and a fur baby of my own to help keep yours company (but let’s do a meet and greet to make sure they get along to ensure their safety)! We love going on walks around the neighborhood, playing fetch in the backyard, hanging out inside in the AC during the hotter months, and cuddling on the couch. Sally is my only dog (Beatles is my sister’s and stays with Sally during our joint vacations). Sally is crate trained for anxiety while alone, so as a safety measure, you are required to bring a crate for your dog when boarding. Dogs will only be crated when we aren’t home. My husband will also help out with your fur baby at times, so if you’d like to meet him too, just let me know! :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
