“Yvonne is amazing. I appreciate her dealings with my dogs, she loves on them and they love her too. I’m the difficult one in this and she is truly patient with my scheduling. Thanks Yvonne.”

“Kami Jo and I both had a great experience with Zhen. She did an initial meet & greet and then came to visit each day, followed my instructions, and I could tell she was very affectionate with my cat while I was away. The photos helped us both feel less lonely. She was even understanding when there was a mix-up with accessing my building which was my fault. I would definitely book her again.”

“Genevieve was very communicative and friendly. The cats seemed to be comfortable around them — approaching them when they entered the house, responding to play time, eating all their food. Genevieve also brought in the mail, garbage bins, and they left the house tidy. I would use their services again.”

“Cedric is always great with our cats. Within two bookings our cats are now comfortable with him and even seeking out scratches and affection from him. He is very punctual and provides great status updates! We feel very comforted knowing that our cats are in his care.”

“Aunt Penny was wonderful as always! We’ve had her cat-sit for us several times now and love her notes when she checks in, along with the sweet photos she sends. Penny is super attentive and always goes the extra mile with our fur babies AND those little things that pop up while you’re gone (like brining in unexpected packages), which helps us so much when we aren’t at home. Highly, highly recommended! Thank you so much, Penny! :)”

“Kearstin was amazing and helped us out last minute with cat sitting for our cat. She was responsive, reliable, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. We really appreciated the updates and the care she gave our cat. Everything went smoothly, and we would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

About: I’m highly experienced in caring for a wide variety of dogs, including elderly bernese mountain dogs, anxious english bulldogs, territorial pomeranian puppies, cuddly golden retrievers, playful pitbull mixes, and more! I’m an expert at customizing my care around the personality of your canines. If a dog is anxious and shy, I’ll take them on a less busy route for our walk and watch their comfort level closely. If your pet is energetic and doesn’t get along well with others, I’ll avoid other animals when we’re out and give them lots of playtime! If your dog just needs cuddles on the couch and someone to administer their medicine, I’m more than happy to do that as well. I’ve taken care of multi-dog households many times, and it’s always a pleasure. I'm currently unemployed and have a wide-open schedule. I'm available for whatever you need, seven days a week. I can stay at your house for the day or overnight if you prefer. I'm also available for multiple drop-in visits throughout the day. I follow the rules of the home I'm visiting. Whether you prefer shoes on or shoes off, I'll respect your preference! I also stay in communication with pet owners. I'll keep you updated on your animal's well-being and be alert for signs of concerning behaviors or health problems. I always pay attention to each animal's specific communication style and respect their needs. I speak in a quiet and comforting tone of voice to keep pets calm and make them feel as safe as possible.
“Jordan was very attentive and showed real compassion for our pets. They really shined with the challenge that our four legged ones can present. Would recommend them to anyone.”

“Our furr baby was well taken care of by Amanda. Our cat cuddled with her and loved all on her. She also helped with the mail and trash. Definitely someone who knows how to love and care for your pets and home.”

“Victoria is the best! She stopped by before we went out of town to meet us and Rufus (our cat). She sent the best pictures and even played with Rufus while we were gone. We gave her a key to our house which she left in a safe and secure place after she left. She’s our go to sitter moving forward and I’m excited to book her in the future.”
“Laylah was great to work with and we would not hesitate to hire her again! Our pup warmed up to her and she took great care of him. The Rover report cards with photos are nice. She communicated really well and put our minds at ease.”

“Jeremy was able to do a last minute booking for a drop in visit with Lily. She loves when he comes to see her and I can see that by all the smiles in the photos he sends.”

“Hazel did a great job making sure Xena got her transdermal meds every 12 hours while we were camping. She also cleaned catboxes, topped off water, and fed the younger cats their morning soft food.”

“Jeffrey was wonderful to work with, was always on time, and followed our directions perfectly. Mishka was lucky to have them here as a drop in care taker. Thanks so much!”

“Naomi is a super awesome dog sitter! She went above and beyond with both our dogs and made sure they were comfortable while we were out of town. I highly recommend her services; my dogs and cats loved her!”

About: Hello animal lovers! I grew up with dogs. First was a Golden Retriever then several Old English Mastiffs to follow. I adore big dogs and know they are gentle giants. I also adore "smaller dogs" too, those under 125lbs (ha!) I have been dog sitting on and off for about 15 years. About me, I'm responsible, mature, reliable and fun, your dog will love me. I'm happy to play fetch or snuggle your pooch, whatever is best for them. I am a care taker by trade so your pup will be in good hands. I am able to spend most of the day with your pup on longer stays. I am looking forward to meeting you and your dog soon! Pet care is my main job right now so I will have plenty of time to take care of your pet whether at home or on a walk. I cannot currently board pets or do doggy day care but am happy to come to your home to care for any of your pets.
“Jocelyn was absolutely a blessing. My dogs just adored her. She was so easy to book with. She took the most adorable pictures of them. I was missing the dogs so much and she gave me so much peace of mind. I can not recommend her enough!”

“This was our first time using Rover and felt a little nervous. As soon as we meet Kaitlyn for a meet and greet we felt extremely comfortable moving forward. She is extremely knowledgeable and we saw how comfortable she was with our two large labs. She provided detailed updates every time she came for our scheduled drop in visits. Will definitely rebook with her in the future 😊”

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
