“Hailee did a great job managing my older, reactive/anxious dog as well as my very excitable puppy! I would definitely recommend her—she followed my detailed instructions carefully and was very patient with both dogs, who each have somewhat complicated needs.”

“Lori was great and was so sweet with Baobao. We really appreciated her coming for a meet and greet so everyone was comfortable with the situation. Baobao was clearly comfortable with her”

“Lauren was quick to notice Riley's patch he had been scratching and took a photo for me. It was a great way to help me see what I was coming home to and how to prep for his care. AWESOME job.”
“May was able to help out on short notice which was much appreciated. She was promot picking up Hulu for his walk and always sent update pics. We would definitely use May again.”

About: Hi! I’m Haodong, and I believe every dog deserves more than just a place to stay—they deserve to feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. One thing that makes my care different is that I only accept one client (one household) at a time. That means your dog will never have to compete for attention or share the home with several unfamiliar dogs. Every stay is calm, personal, and centered entirely around your dog’s needs. Since I work remotely, I’m home for most of the day, so your dog will have plenty of companionship, supervision, regular walks, and personalized attention instead of being left alone for long periods. I take the time to learn each dog’s routine, personality, and preferences so I can make their stay feel as familiar and stress-free as possible. Whether they love to play, explore the backyard, or simply relax beside someone, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable and at home. I know trusting someone with your dog is a big decision, and my goal is to give you complete peace of mind while providing your dog with the same patience, kindness, and attention I’d want for my own. I look forward to meeting you and your pup! Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. Since I work remotely from home, I’m able to provide companionship, supervision, and regular potty breaks throughout the day rather than leaving dogs alone for long hours. To ensure every dog receives my full attention, I only accept one client (or one household) at a time. This allows me to provide truly personalized care, maintain a calm and stress-free environment, and tailor each dog’s stay to their individual routine, personality, and needs. Walks, feeding, playtime, and rest are thoughtfully built into my day, and because I’m home for most of the day, your dog won’t just have someone checking in—they’ll have someone genuinely sharing their day with them. Safety Comes First Your dog’s safety is always my highest priority. I intentionally keep a small number of dogs at a time so every guest receives plenty of individual attention. Outdoor play is always supervised, feeding can be separated when needed, and introductions are handled carefully to help every dog feel comfortable and confident.
“We had a great experience with Nicholas. He is very responsible and attentive, and it’s clear that he genuinely cares about dogs. Our dog really likes him, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. He sent us photos every day and always included detailed updates about how our dog was doing, which we really appreciated. I highly recommend him and will definitely book with him again in the future!”

About: Pets have been my life ever since I was five years old. I wasn't a caretaker at that age, but I've fostered a close connection and understanding towards pets ever since. As I got older, my responsibilities grew in kind, and I became much more involved in the day-to-day care of dogs and cats. I've been fortunate to be a part of six dogs lives, and each have brought different temperaments, attitudes, and energy levels. Four of the six were rescues, so I understand the patience and attentiveness needed to properly address their needs and quirks. I also helped raise a 10 week old puppy into adulthood, so I am very familiar with what it takes to handle the stubbornness and energy of a young pup. While it's been some time since my cat has passed away, I likewise share a similar understanding to their needs and socialization. It requires a different approach than a dog but I am happy to adapt to the pet at hand and ensure they receive the best care possible. I have returned from a term of service abroad in the Peace Corps, and am currently searching for employment as I settle back in the states. I will be living in Washington for the time being before I set off to grad school. As such, my schedule is fairly open for dog walking and check-ins. Some of my fondest memories abroad was walking around the countryside in my spare time, so I'm excited to continue that here with some new friends! I will ensure that the pets' needs are addressed in full with the client before I take on the service, and adhere to the directions advised. I cannot currently board pets at my home, but I am happy to check in on pets whilst abiding by the rules of my client's homes.
About: We have been caring for dogs for many years. Starting from puppies to full grown dogs over the years and know how to understand what a dog needs for a healthy, happy, and full life. Aharon works from home most of the time. With just one dog at home it would be easy to add another. It’s easy to add another to the pack! We take our dogs outside for exercise twice a day and have play sessions in between. We have 1200 sqft of interior space for the dogs to play and chill with a fenced backyard. There’s also a dog park almost right in our backyard where we go to all the time. The area is residential and lots of families around that know us.
“Heather was great! She has years of experience dealing with all types of dogs and that was evident when she walked my dog - who has more personality and quirks than you can shake a chuck-it stick at. I knew Heather was the right choice when my dog gave her tail wags and brought her a toy on their first at home visit. Generally he takes a while to warm up to people. Heather is responsive and punctual. I’d definitely hire her again!”

“Wendy is a dog whisperer! Her walks with my dog truly help with her anxiety! Wendy is always punctual, cares deeply about her customers, and has amazing writing skills. I’m always looking forward to the RoverCards to see what Wendy is sending our way. Not to mention the fact that she is also a dog trainer. Wouldn’t trust my dog with anyone else. Thank you, Wendy!”

About: I have been doing rover on and off for the past year. However, I have many years of experience! I have had my dog Daisy since I was 12 and she is now turning 10!!. In that time I have put a lot of work into training her and making sure she has enough mental and physical. I have experience in child care and dog watching so I can ensure you that your fur baby will be well taken care of! I have many years of experience with dogs! I will also make sure to replicate the routine, schedule and unique special needs of each dog. I’m currently working part time and a college student. So I have plenty of time to play with the dogs and take them on fun walks! I have a fenced yard and a house. My dog Daisy loves to play fetch and go on 2-3 walks a day. I love to incorporate dogs into her routine and modify my schedule with the dogs based on the dog’s unique needs. I love dogs so much and love to hangout with them and play with them! I treat other pets as if they were my own and make sure all their needs are fulfilled. I also make a lot of effort capturing photos and videos of your dog to reassure your mind while you’re away!
“Cynthia is super responsive and great with my dog. She takes her on long walks and plays frisbee with her. And she always sends me good updates after the walks and I feel very confident that my dog is being properly taken care of with Cynthia!”

I’m so happy I found Natalia and Miguel! They’ve been wonderful with my Gunner. He’s a very high-energy Weimaraner and can definitely be a handful at times, but they’ve been so patient, attentive, and caring with him. Communication has also been great, and I really appreciate the updates and pictures while I’m at work. It gives me peace of mind knowing Gunner is getting exercise, attention, and is being well taken care of while I’m away. Natalia has also been thoughtful about his safety and comfort and communicates with me if she notices anything or has a suggestion. Gunner is always so happy after spending time with them, and I’m very grateful to have found someone I can trust with him. I would definitely recommend Natalia and Miguel!

Abbi has been one of the most reliable and attentive people I’ve encountered on Rover. She has developed a great rapport with my dog, Charlie and I know that he will always be safe and well exercised after a walk with her. I’d definitely recommend her as a fantastic dog walker!

We did a trial meet-and-greet walk with Pauline and her dog, Comet, for our German Shepherd (Korben) and Husky mix (Deckard). Pauline was fantastic. Our Husky can be a bit selective and leash-reactive, but she handled him with total confidence and ease on our neighborhood walk. She has great instincts with dog dynamics, remained completely unfazed by typical introduction behaviors, and our senior GSD took to her immediately. It’s a huge relief to find a local sitter who understands large breeds and active dogs so well. Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
