About: Pets have been my life ever since I was five years old. I wasn't a caretaker at that age, but I've fostered a close connection and understanding towards pets ever since. As I got older, my responsibilities grew in kind, and I became much more involved in the day-to-day care of dogs and cats. I've been fortunate to be a part of six dogs lives, and each have brought different temperaments, attitudes, and energy levels. Four of the six were rescues, so I understand the patience and attentiveness needed to properly address their needs and quirks. I also helped raise a 10 week old puppy into adulthood, so I am very familiar with what it takes to handle the stubbornness and energy of a young pup. While it's been some time since my cat has passed away, I likewise share a similar understanding to their needs and socialization. It requires a different approach than a dog but I am happy to adapt to the pet at hand and ensure they receive the best care possible. I have returned from a term of service abroad in the Peace Corps, and am currently searching for employment as I settle back in the states. I will be living in Washington for the time being before I set off to grad school. As such, my schedule is fairly open for dog walking and check-ins. Some of my fondest memories abroad was walking around the countryside in my spare time, so I'm excited to continue that here with some new friends! I will ensure that the pets' needs are addressed in full with the client before I take on the service, and adhere to the directions advised. I cannot currently board pets at my home, but I am happy to check in on pets whilst abiding by the rules of my client's homes.
“Marcea arrived at the agreed upon time. She was patient with Bentley on coaxing him to put his leash on. Since this was the forst walk and I was home, I think he was a little confused. The all happily went on their walk. Marcea will be having an overnight with them later in the week so this was to help everyone get better acquainted.”

About: I’ve grown up caring for animals of all kinds, including large-breed dogs, cats, chickens, and horses. I have especially extensive experience with large dogs and senior pets. I recently lost my Doberman Pinscher at nearly 15 years old, and we currently have a 14-year-old Siberian Husky. As a stay at home mom, I have a flexible daytime schedule and am home much of the day. My routine mainly revolves around school drop-offs, pick-ups, and after-school activities, which leaves me largely available during the morning and early afternoon when many pet owners are away at work. This gives me plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, playtime, feeding, and pets who need a little extra attention throughout the day. I’ve spent my life around animals and understand that every pet has different boundaries, routines, and comfort levels. I’m comfortable with large breeds, senior dogs, crates, mobility needs, and pets requiring extra care. Our home has fully fenced front and back yards, indoor and outdoor security cameras, and baby gates that allow us to safely separate pets from other dogs, children, or food when needed. We also have dog beds, toys, and plenty of clean water bowls available for their comfort. Our children have been raised around large dogs and understand dog safety, including respecting a pet’s space around food, beds, crates, and while resting. I’m happy to follow each owner’s normal routine and household rules so their pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with us.
“Jennifer has been amazing! She walks my baby with patience and enthusiasm. She leaves detailed messages and pictures after each walk. Her years of experience are reassuring as well.”

About: I have taken care of pets, including my own, since I was 8 years old. From big to small, dogs to cats, young and old, and many breeds I have a passion for taking care of animals! I am very reliable and have excellent communication. You will always find your pet happier than you left them! I am currently on summer break so have all the time in the world for your pet! I am free most days and most hours so have a very flexible schedule. Say the word and I will be there for your pet! I have 2 dogs and have taken care of many of my family and friends. I make sure to clean up after them, feed them on schedule, walk them, play with them, and keep up with grooming and hygiene! I will always make sure your pet is safe and gets the attention they need.
“Hailee did a great job managing my older, reactive/anxious dog as well as my very excitable puppy! I would definitely recommend her—she followed my detailed instructions carefully and was very patient with both dogs, who each have somewhat complicated needs.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for years and have had a dog before! I help out with my friends dogs all the time and love going on walks! I’m currently in between getting jobs so my availability is completely open and I can help out and walk and play with dogs whenever needed! I am very gentle and pets tend to like me a lot! I also know how much to feed different dogs and how to approach them and how to make sure they feel loved
“Fariba was amazing! She came to our house on time, Iggy was so excited to see her. She is definitely a dog lover! She took Iggy back and let us know if he had gone potty or not. We will definitely reach out to Fariba again for her service and will definitely recommend her!”

“My small yorkie LuLu doesn’t normally walk with anyone but me and very few people who have watched her. Vanessa was able to get her to go on a walk and do her business. It took the stress out of my travel day knowing that LuLu was well cared for. Thank you Vanessa!”

About: We have been caring for dogs for many years. Starting from puppies to full grown dogs over the years and know how to understand what a dog needs for a healthy, happy, and full life. Aharon works from home most of the time. With just one dog at home it would be easy to add another. It’s easy to add another to the pack! We take our dogs outside for exercise twice a day and have play sessions in between. We have 1200 sqft of interior space for the dogs to play and chill with a fenced backyard. There’s also a dog park almost right in our backyard where we go to all the time. The area is residential and lots of families around that know us.
“I contacted Chase on short notice due to work emergency. She took my dog to her appointment to be spayed. Not only did Chase take my girls but Chase left her number as an emergency contact if the Vet could not reach me. Chase’s communication was great and I could not be happier with the care she gave my pup. Chase even checked back to see if I might need her to pick up my pup after the procedure. I won’t hesitate to work with Chase in the future and am beyond happy with the help and peace of mind she gave me.”

“I love Wendy! She’s very reliable and responsive and my dogs love her. She’s more than capable of handling my 2 large dogs! She comes multiple times a week and she’s just amazing at handling them. Esp my difficult dog that is prone to aggression and dog distractedness. Thanks so much wendy!”
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I take pride in providing attentive, reliable, and compassionate care so both pets and their owners feel comfortable and confident. I have experience with daily walks, feeding routines, playtime, and providing plenty of affection and companionship. Whether your pet is energetic and loves adventure or prefers a calm and relaxed environment, I’m happy to tailor my care to their individual personality and routine. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, so I focus on clear communication and regular updates, including photos and messages while you’re away. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, happy, and loved, and to give owners peace of mind knowing their pet is in good hands. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I currently work from home full time so I will be able to accommodate most schedules during the week. My weekends are usually open and free so that means more time to dedicate to your pet's care. I will make sure the proper care and attention is given at any point of the day! I have more than enough space in my apartment to accommodate most animals. My apartment complex is very safe, quiet and clean with adequate space to provide walks if needed. For cat owners, I do have a resident cat that will be in the same house. I will make sure proper separation is guaranteed if you decide to have your kitty cat stay with me!
About: With my nursing background and having my own animals, I am knowledgeable and competent in handling/administering medications and mostly anything medical related with your pets. I have two animals of my own and have owned various pets throughout my life (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc). I am experienced in sitting various animals of all ages and would truly be honored to meet and love on your kiddos. I am available most days of the week since I am currently only working as a nurse part time. Other than my own two pets, I do not have any other commitments. I would prefer to take care of your pets in their own environment so that they are comfortable. However, I am willing to house sit at my home if necessary.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Coal Creek
Jade is truly the absolute best! Charlie Ann is a very sensitive dog with lots of feelings, and Jade quickly became one of her favorite people. Jade has a deep respect for Charlie as a creature with her own personality, preferences, and desires. She pays incredibly close attention to Charlie’s subtle cues and has gotten to know her so well, honestly, better than many people who have known Charlie for years. Jade is also a phenomenal communicator. After every walk, I get thoughtful, detailed updates and documentation, and I always feel like I know exactly how Charlie is doing and how their time together went. I’ve truly never felt so comfortable trusting someone with Charlie so quickly. It is incredibly clear how much Jade cares about her, and knowing that Charlie is with someone who understands and respects her so deeply gives me enormous peace of mind. I feel incredibly lucky that we found her!

We did a trial meet-and-greet walk with Pauline and her dog, Comet, for our German Shepherd (Korben) and Husky mix (Deckard). Pauline was fantastic. Our Husky can be a bit selective and leash-reactive, but she handled him with total confidence and ease on our neighborhood walk. She has great instincts with dog dynamics, remained completely unfazed by typical introduction behaviors, and our senior GSD took to her immediately. It’s a huge relief to find a local sitter who understands large breeds and active dogs so well. Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
