“Had a great first experience with Michael! He was super responsive, right on time, really kind, easy to work with, and sent lots of sweet pics. Our dogs were definitely in good hands.”

“Peter did a great job taking care of our dog while we were away for the weekend. His updates were always detailed and he made sure to spend a little extra time with our dog playing fetch and general TLC. Peter also helped us out by moving our recycling bin back as it was picked up after we left. We would 100% use Peter again!”

About: Pets have been my life ever since I was five years old. I wasn't a caretaker at that age, but I've fostered a close connection and understanding towards pets ever since. As I got older, my responsibilities grew in kind, and I became much more involved in the day-to-day care of dogs and cats. I've been fortunate to be a part of six dogs lives, and each have brought different temperaments, attitudes, and energy levels. Four of the six were rescues, so I understand the patience and attentiveness needed to properly address their needs and quirks. I also helped raise a 10 week old puppy into adulthood, so I am very familiar with what it takes to handle the stubbornness and energy of a young pup. While it's been some time since my cat has passed away, I likewise share a similar understanding to their needs and socialization. It requires a different approach than a dog but I am happy to adapt to the pet at hand and ensure they receive the best care possible. I have returned from a term of service abroad in the Peace Corps, and am currently searching for employment as I settle back in the states. I will be living in Washington for the time being before I set off to grad school. As such, my schedule is fairly open for dog walking and check-ins. Some of my fondest memories abroad was walking around the countryside in my spare time, so I'm excited to continue that here with some new friends! I will ensure that the pets' needs are addressed in full with the client before I take on the service, and adhere to the directions advised. I cannot currently board pets at my home, but I am happy to check in on pets whilst abiding by the rules of my client's homes.
About: I have taken care of pets, including my own, since I was 8 years old. From big to small, dogs to cats, young and old, and many breeds I have a passion for taking care of animals! I am very reliable and have excellent communication. You will always find your pet happier than you left them! I am currently on summer break so have all the time in the world for your pet! I am free most days and most hours so have a very flexible schedule. Say the word and I will be there for your pet! I have 2 dogs and have taken care of many of my family and friends. I make sure to clean up after them, feed them on schedule, walk them, play with them, and keep up with grooming and hygiene! I will always make sure your pet is safe and gets the attention they need.
“Hailee did a great job managing my older, reactive/anxious dog as well as my very excitable puppy! I would definitely recommend her—she followed my detailed instructions carefully and was very patient with both dogs, who each have somewhat complicated needs.”

“Martina was patient with my old reactive pup! He's in a new apartment in a new town and Martina did everything to help him feel comfortable and gained his trust quite quickly and easily. Very satisfied and I look forward to working with Martina further in the future!!”

“Nicolas has been such a huge help with my girls!! They’re not the easiest to walk because one is old and stubborn and the other is young and wants to run, and he’s great with them. :)”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for years and have had a dog before! I help out with my friends dogs all the time and love going on walks! I’m currently in between getting jobs so my availability is completely open and I can help out and walk and play with dogs whenever needed! I am very gentle and pets tend to like me a lot! I also know how much to feed different dogs and how to approach them and how to make sure they feel loved
“Jennifer has been amazing! She walks my baby with patience and enthusiasm. She leaves detailed messages and pictures after each walk. Her years of experience are reassuring as well.”

About: I have owned 3 dogs and 1 cat in my life and have loved and cared for them like no other. I am a babysitter as well so I am responsible and will take great care of your pets (these homes have doggies that I take care of as well). Currently, I am studying at Linfield University and playing basketball here. My availability waivers at this time of the year, but I love animals so much so please reach out and I will let you know if I can make time for your pet(s)! When I am not studying, I live on a lake, have a ton of property, but no fenced area. My dogs are friends with our neighbors dogs and I am far from any main roads. With strangers though, I would appreciate my dogs being on leashes! My pups are allowed on all furniture, all places in our home, and are fed twice a day!
About: We have been caring for dogs for many years. Starting from puppies to full grown dogs over the years and know how to understand what a dog needs for a healthy, happy, and full life. Aharon works from home most of the time. With just one dog at home it would be easy to add another. It’s easy to add another to the pack! We take our dogs outside for exercise twice a day and have play sessions in between. We have 1200 sqft of interior space for the dogs to play and chill with a fenced backyard. There’s also a dog park almost right in our backyard where we go to all the time. The area is residential and lots of families around that know us.

“I love Wendy! She’s very reliable and responsive and my dogs love her. She’s more than capable of handling my 2 large dogs! She comes multiple times a week and she’s just amazing at handling them. Esp my difficult dog that is prone to aggression and dog distractedness. Thanks so much wendy!”
About: With my nursing background and having my own animals, I am knowledgeable and competent in handling/administering medications and mostly anything medical related with your pets. I have two animals of my own and have owned various pets throughout my life (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc). I am experienced in sitting various animals of all ages and would truly be honored to meet and love on your kiddos. I am available most days of the week since I am currently only working as a nurse part time. Other than my own two pets, I do not have any other commitments. I would prefer to take care of your pets in their own environment so that they are comfortable. However, I am willing to house sit at my home if necessary.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - High Valley
Jessie has been an amazing dog walker for us. She is always kind, patient, reliable, and on time. She communicates very well and always keeps me updated, which gives me so much peace of mind when I’m away. I especially love the little notes Jessie leaves on the review card after each walk. I really enjoy reading them because they show how much attention and care she gives to my dog. I feel very lucky to have Jessie taking care of my dog. She is trustworthy, caring, and truly goes above and beyond. I highly recommend her!

Alyssa is the absolute best! First of all she’s a dog owner herself so has that personal perspective and experience which is invaluable. She has a very thoughtful approach, asking questions beforehand about our pup’s habits. She took the time to play with our pup before and after her walk, which I was not expecting at all. She reached out once while we were away when she had a concern/question, which I appreciated. Alyssa also provided brief but informative daily reports after each walk, which were helpful and eased my mind because I was missing my girl while we were away. If you want a conscientious, caring and reliable dog walker, I highly recommend Alyssa!

Carolina went above and beyond for our pup! She clearly loves what she does and our dog warmed up to her quickly and clearly loved his walks with her! We so appreciate how attentive she was for our furry family member- she noticed our upstairs space felt warm, and was lovely enough to relocate his crate and a fan downstairs for him to stay cool until we got home!

I can’t say enough great things about Kaylynn! She is incredibly reliable and trustworthy, which gives me so much peace of mind knowing my dog is in good hands. My dog Kora is naturally very shy and slow to warm up to new people, but Kaylynn has done an amazing job building that trust and making her feel comfortable and safe. Kaylynn is also very responsive and flexible, especially when I’ve needed to make last-minute bookings, which has been such a huge help with my schedule. So glad to have her as a dependable dog walker!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
