Vivian was absolutely incredible. My dog, Timba, is reactive and very wary of new people. She warmed up to Vivian extremely quickly and I could tell from the photos Vivian sent that she was very happy and comfortable! I was nervous to use a new walker while I was out of town, but Vivian kept me updated with photos every 5-10 min during the walks (in addition to the rover card!). I will absolutely be booking with her again.

Madalynn was great for the 2 dog walks she provided. Very positive experience. She was reliable, friendly, and clearly comfortable with dogs (she has her own). Super patient with our hundreds of requests of how to care for our dog, LOL. Communication was easy/fast and I felt confident that my dog was in good hands. My dog seemed happy and well cared for after each walk. I would definitely use her services again and recommend her to others.

About: I grew up on a farm surrounded by a wide range of animals. I currently live with my dog, Hank, and two cats, Nora and Ted. I have had my dog, Hank since he was a puppy. He is now 12 years old. I am well versed in senior care. I had my cat, Charlie for 18 years, giving him medication daily to manage his high-blood pressure. Sadly, I said good-bye to Charlie three years ago. It was one of the hardest things I had to do. I have genuine love and care for senior animals after his passing. I work full time as a teacher. I am usually busy Monday-Friday during the day. However, my partner works from home. With teaching I also have a very flexible schedule when it comes to holidays and weekends! My home has a large yard. There will be plenty of walks and opportunities for play. I take my dog for 3 walks throughout the day, often spending more than two hours outside with him. I make sure my animals are mentally stimulated by providing them with puzzle toys, and engaging with them in play.

About: I’ve always been around pets (despite being allergic, cats especially have always been drawn to me) so I have plenty of experience interacting with and looking after animals of varying temperaments, ages, activity levels, personalities, and needs. I grew up with a bichon shih-tzu named Dewey and I currently have a very sweet black cat named Styx that I adopted in January 2023! I’m currently a full-time student pursuing a career in psychiatric nursing - on track to finish my program by December 2026, so over the summer when I am not taking classes, my schedule is much more flexible; from September till the end of May I am available mainly on weekends and evenings but it really depends on my schedule! I will always try my best to accommodate and help out as much as I can :) I am definitely someone who understands that trust is built over time! I will always give your pets the same love and care as I would my own - I know how hard it can be for both pets and owners when you have to spend time away from them.

About: I have experience looking after my family dog and helping raise my sister’s puppy. I have done pet sitting for friends as well. I’m not an expert at animal care, but will follow all directions and respect your pet at all times. My focus is to keep your pet happy while you are away. I love taking dogs for walks and will always clean up after them. I am a full time professional wrestlers, so my weekends are almost always busy, but that leaves my weekdays completely free and flexible most weeks. I am able to do drop ins on the day or scheduled, reoccurring visits. I will respect your pets and your home at all times. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priority! I am very clean and will make sure everything is left how I found it. I will follow all directions and rules given to me.

About: I have taken care of a large assortment of pets. I started dog grooming when I was 16 and did that for 20 years. I also worked at a pet store as a small animal manager. Duties included feeding, cleaning cages, engaging with a wide range of small animals, cats and birds. The department was run efficiently and I trained a small team of employees to aid in all duties. In addition to this, I also managed a grooming salon. I am able to administer medications, including injections. Pets are my sole purpose in life. I don’t have kids and I’m currently living in a no-pet home. I miss having dogs and cats. I currently snuck in a hamster named Eleanor and a fish tank with an angel fish named Jude. I have a lot of love to give and your pet will be in competent hands. My daily/weekly routine is spent loving and caring for animals. It’s not just a job, I live for it. It’s my life. I cannot have pets in my own home but I do offer pet sitting in your own home. Your pet will be comfortable in their own home as I maintain any rituals or schedules as determined by the pet’s owner. I also offer dog walking and drop in visits. I’m very thorough and will offer a great experience for your pet.

I also have two 7 year-old domestic short-haired kitties named Mr. Finn and Leonard! Absolutely thrilled with my experience with Rebbeca, she has been reliable, professional and shows genuine care for my border collie Isaac. Rebecca provides amazing photos of Isaac on his walks and its clear they have made a strong bond together. My first experience with Rebecca was also on short notice and she was incredibly responsive and understanding of my situation. 10/10 ❤️ First time using rover and I may have shed a tear watching my pup walk off with someone else on this beautiful day.. LOL. But, with some physical limitations I had to call in reinforcements (which clearly wasn’t easy for me). When they arrived home my dog was smiling so big, playing, being goofy and clearly just SO happy. I felt instantly better! She will now be walking him a few times a week. He now has a new friend and walking buddy. She has lovely energy ! (I also have a big German shepherd which can be a lot for some) so happy we have her to help out now! 🫶🏻

Keira is excellent. Friendly, accommodating, energetic, affordable, patient with my dog. He is high energy, she makes sure to run with him to provide an outlet for his energy. He comes back panting, which is always a good sign that he found his walk to be a success. The bonus for me is I get some peace and quiet because he is satisfied. Keira also spent time to play a bit with him, getting on the floor! He was thrilled 😆 I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Keira.

There are 1,171 sitters on Rover for Dog Walking in Edmonton. About 87% of Edmonton sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in Edmonton. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighbourhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

Tip: Keep in mind that many cities in Canada require your dog walker to have a permit or licence for group walks.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance travelled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Edmonton.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits, dog walking, and doggy day care. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find walkers in Edmonton with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Edmonton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 98% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
