“Lisa was fantastic with Gracie while we were away for four days. She went out of her way to meet us beforehand, which gave me great peace of mind knowing Gracie would be in good hands. Lisa was punctual, reliable, and very responsive to any messages I sent. I truly appreciated her care and professionalism—and I’ll definitely be booking her again!”

“Lynette is the sweetest lady. She loves all animals like her own. My Beverly is a shy rescue dog who can be a bit timid and she ran straight to Lynette when she met her. Beverly looked so happy in all of the pictures from her walk! Lynette's communication puts any pet parent at ease as you know your furry friend is loved when in Lynette’s care :)”

“Andrea is prompt and professional, you can rest easy knowing that she will be there for you and your pet on time as agreed upon. Andrea was responsive during messaging, and is really good with dogs. I would not hesitate to have her care for my Ripley again.”

About: Hi! I’m Alyssa ☺️ I offer drop-in visits, dog walking, and house sitting, and I truly treat every pet as if they were my own. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and spending time with them genuinely brings me happiness. My goal is always to make your pets feel safe, loved, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I understand how important trust is when leaving your pets and home in someone else’s care. I take that responsibility seriously and always do my best to provide reliable, gentle, and attentive care for every animal I meet. I have experience caring for both cats and dogs with different personalities, routines, and needs. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and anxious, or simply needs companionship and patience, I adapt to what makes them feel most comfortable. I’m also comfortable administering medications and carefully following any instructions or routines you provide. I know being away from their owners can sometimes be stressful for pets, so I focus on creating a calm, reassuring environment and giving them plenty of attention, affection, and patience. I also love sending photo and message updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are happy and doing well 🐾 While I’m always continuing to learn, I truly give 100% to every pet I care for 🙏 My routine is always different! But I can work around that for any visits I have, especially for your animals because I really value spending time, caring for them while they may be stressed/seperation anxiety when they are away from their owner. I offer gentleness and patience I have two cats myself and they have a daily routines that we stick to! As for drop in visits and house sitting I would treat any persons home with respect and I love cleaning and totally don’t mind so when you return your home will be just how you left it!!

“Madalynn was great for the 2 dog walks she provided. Very positive experience. She was reliable, friendly, and clearly comfortable with dogs (she has her own). Super patient with our hundreds of requests of how to care for our dog, LOL. Communication was easy/fast and I felt confident that my dog was in good hands. My dog seemed happy and well cared for after each walk. I would definitely use her services again and recommend her to others.”

About: I’ve taken care of a few of my coworkers cats & dogs, going over to check on them and give them lots of love! I don’t own any pets myself but I genuinely love my time with my friends pets and I would love to enjoy time with yours too! I am a student with open availability other than part time work! I am available mostly during the day and evenings or weekends but my schedule is fluid all the time right now! I don’t have the resources to house animals in my own home, but I am confident in my skills to take care of your pets while we get some exercise together!
About: I’ve had pets my whole life and been involved in every aspect of their care . I even helped care for the diabetic cat we had when I was younger by helping to check her blood sugar. I love everything about animals and can’t wait to meet yours and help you care for them! I’m currently taking part time courses and have plenty of time to help you with your pets . I am able to stay with them if needed! I can care for your pets in your home . I would love to feed and take your dog for a walk and play with your cat. I am comfortable with all animals !
“Gretta is very excited when she sees Kianna’s car drive up. Kianna is a very caring dog walker and is very patient with G when she puts on the snow suit for colder weather.”

About: From showing dogs professionally, to grooming cats and dogs and owning them all my life; I have the knowledge and experience to handle any pet with the care based on their individual needs. I also offer grooming and training, as well as drop in pet sitting where I check in on your pets while you’re gone. I currently work very part time (Wednesday-Friday and the occasional Saturday) and have more than enough time for my own pets and want to spend all the extra time helping care for yours! Currently I am available Saturday-Tuesday just about any time. Wednesdays I have time in the morning and can do an evening drop in after work around 9pm Thursday and Fridays I am off around 4 and am available in the evening. I have 2 dogs, 3 cats and 2 fish tanks. I balance all of them along with having 2 children as well. To me, caring for pets means they are family and should be included as such. During a regular week my dogs are given a variation of walking, training and mental stimulation games. The cats can be found lounging with us in our past times or playing amongst themselves.
“Bonnie was reliable and pups liked her. She showed up on time even with the struggle to find parking due to the snow clearing. I do wish when she took more than a picture of 1/2 our dogs head or butt to send to us.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sherwood Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
