“It was suggested that I write a review but it's probably a bit early after two walks with Alex. Suffice it to say that we are very happy so far. Judy is very calm, and that works well with Alex because he can be a bit hyper. I also appreciate the detailed feedback of the walk and his various stops. In short, great!”

“Isabella is the best! She has been a dependable dog walker for our two pups. She has also provided house sitting services for us while we've been away. She is trustworthy, great at communicating, and very respectful. We would highly recommend Isabella to anyone needing help with their pets.”

“We were so happy to have Nathaniel walk Clover! She went on fun adventures every day, getting lots of exercise and we loved the photos that Nathaniel took. We would re-book any time.”

“Salmaan is such a sweet human. I have 2 dogs one shy and one with severe past trauma, he was patient understanding and still did his best adapting to there personalities. Absolutley would bring him back :)”

“Madalynn was great for the 2 dog walks she provided. Very positive experience. She was reliable, friendly, and clearly comfortable with dogs (she has her own). Super patient with our hundreds of requests of how to care for our dog, LOL. Communication was easy/fast and I felt confident that my dog was in good hands. My dog seemed happy and well cared for after each walk. I would definitely use her services again and recommend her to others.”

“Kevin is very friendly and professional! He came and met our family and Otto before he started walking him, and has taken him for 4 walks so far. Otto loved getting out during the day. We are so grateful for Kevin’s assistance during this busy season of life.”

“Jonathan was great he made time to do a meet and greet which is always appreciated. He was super punctual and responsive to all communications and followed all instructions I left. While he decided to no longer walk my dog (as she’s a bit of a nervous dog) after his first visit he still honoured his commitment and showed up for the 2 other walks he had agreed too which I really appreciated. Definitely a reliable person if you have a easy going pup he will be great.”

“So glad to have found Noella! She takes a very genuine and proactive approach to caring for her clients. Noella and Molly hit it off on our meet and greet and all of her walks so far have gone swimmingly :) Molly has expressed her favourable opinion by working belly rub breaks into her walks with Noella more than half the time so far!”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life. Cats, dogs, birds etc! I love animals and plan on one day becoming a vet technician. I enjoy taking dogs for walks and playing with them, dogs parks are lots of fun as well! I have been trusted to take care of friends animals as well, and they are always happy with the care their pets receive from me! I am currently in post secondary, however I can still do drop ins and depending on your location & pets needs I can also still do housesitting, and my summer time will be open! I will ensure the pets have safe access to food and water as well as frequent potty breaks. I will make sure they feel safe in their environment and with me whilst they are in my care. I would play with them and be sure they have access to toys they like as well as access to treats for good behaviour.
About: I’ve grown up with many different animals and I’ve always had a soft spot for pets! I currently take care of my grumpy senior cat and my very energetic puppy and I’m looking forward to meeting your fur babies too I currently work a steady rotating schedule which leaves me with a lot of free days for walks and visits during the week and on busy weekdays! I’m able to give your pup lots of exercise through long walks, runs, and lots of play time to stimulate their minds and burn off their energy. I’ll leave your pup tired at the end of each visit
“Belle has been amazing with our dog Roo! She seems extremely comfortable around dogs and accommodating to our schedule. Roo loves her and we would highly recommend Belle!”

About: I’ve had big dogs my whole life. Always rescues. I even brought a street dog home from Spain! My current dog is a rescue with past trauma and anxiety. I’m a teacher with the summer off and I absolutely love walking! During the summer, I’m available most days. Anytime, though I love early mornings. I can go for long walks of 1 to 3 hours. Once school starts again in September I’m only available after 3:30 and on weekends. I used to volunteer to walk a seniors husky. I’m looking for casual dog walking. I’m available a lot during the summer as I’m a teacher. I love early morning walks. During the school year I am available after 3:30 PM and weekends. At this time, I’m not going to be doing pet sitting, just dog walking. Maybe I’ll be interested in pet sitting later but not at this time.
“Our dog absolutely loved Xander, you can tell he loves animals. He was quick to walk our reactive pup and happy to consider our training techniques. Will continue to use him for walks.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Rideau Park
10/10 ❤️ First time using rover and I may have shed a tear watching my pup walk off with someone else on this beautiful day.. LOL. But, with some physical limitations I had to call in reinforcements (which clearly wasn’t easy for me). When they arrived home my dog was smiling so big, playing, being goofy and clearly just SO happy. I felt instantly better! She will now be walking him a few times a week. He now has a new friend and walking buddy. She has lovely energy ! (I also have a big German shepherd which can be a lot for some) so happy we have her to help out now! 🫶🏻

Noella has been walking Molly most weeks for the last couple of months and she's been awesome. I was looking for a new dogwalker because our previous regular needed to move onto bigger and better things. It's clear to see that Noella really cares about her clients, which gives me peace of mind when I have to leave my pupper at home during the day. Noella is very communicative about unexpected events or concerns. I'm so glad we found Noella :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rideau Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 98% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
