About: My name is Tanya and I'm 24 years old. I grew up with dogs so now that I'm at college without them it feels super lonely. I have experience with small and large dogs as I've raised a dachshund and a german shepherd since they were puppies. I can care for younger as well as senior dogs. please let me know of any special needs or any supplementary/dietary requirements that your dog has. I am currently going to school full time but I have full availability on the weekends as well as Tuesdays. I am also able to drop in and accommodate walks in the evenings all week. I do not prefer having your dogs off-leash outside since i am unsure if they would return to me. and that could raise some safety concerns. However, i am happy to accommodate that upon request, provided that you are confident in your pets recall.
“Lacey was wonderful! You can tell that she really loves animals, so I was very comfortable leaving my cat in her care while I was away. I will definitely book with Lacey again for any future cat sitting needs!”

About: I have been pet & housesitting since the age of 10 & owned many animals of my own including guinea pigs, dogs, cats, & rabbits. I’ve also worked in a dog kennel previously and have experience caring for various breeds and temperaments of dogs, have administered various medications and prepared meals according to specific dietary needs. I’m highly responsible & will care for your pet as I would my own. I’m currently a full time student living near the university. I’m now on summer break, working part time. Feel free to contact me, we can discuss your needs and I may be able to work around certain things in my schedule. I will respect your home and follow your instructions for pet care so that your furry friend feels safe & loved while you’re gone. I’m happy to send photo updates as well and keep in contact as I know how hard it can be to be away from them. I will ensure your home is respected and am comfortable cleaning up after pet messes if needed.
About: I own a pitbull chocolate lab mix, hes a rescue and is my joy in life. I've taught him manners and made him many friends, he and I are always in the market for new dog friends! I own a dog so walks daily lots of snuggles and bring him to see his friends almost daily. And the park as often as possible. I live in a house with my dog, we hangout outside, go for walks, the park, and we play outback in the yard, and wrestling, sometimes ice cream treats on hot days!
“Kevin checked in on my two cats during a weekend that I was out of town. He was calm and attentive to instructions and provided much-needed attention for my very social cats, as well as crucial insulin administration for my diabetic cat. I'll be in touch with him for future catsitting.”

“Jasmine was diligent, going through Scooter's care instructions for the visit, following along with his medication instructions for his gum infection. Checked in, polite, made Scooter comfortable.”

About: My French Bulldog mix passed away 3 years ago at the old age of 13. Since then I've been wanting a new dog but with kids and life it's just not the right time for our family. Hoping to fill the void by caring for your pet! I would be honored if you trusted us with caring for a member of your family. Dogs who stay with me get walks through the beautiful University of Alberta farm. I would love to try and run with your dog as well if they would like that. I typically run 3-5 km once per week and my previous house guests seem to love the excersize. In the summer we often spend weekends at the family cabin and our furry friends always have an amazing time visiting. The cabin is 1 hour west of the city - a perfect dog retreat. All furry visitors are welcome and showered with attention. All family at the cabin are either previous or current dog owners including two that have been through service dog training. I do work full time but close to home. Our household, along with two boys one 15 and one 7 years old. Evenings are spent together enjoying the outdoors when we can. We'd love to have a dog come and enjoy our evening time together and helping us make sure we don't skip our evening walks. We would love your pet as if they were our own. Daily walks, love and attention. Pets would sleep with me or in the crate whatever you prefer. Can keep up with training as needed.

About: One of my previous jobs was at the Edmonton Humane Society, where I worked with all breeds and sizes of dogs. I am Fear Free certified, which means your dogs will always be treated with kindness and care. Throughout my 10+ years of experience, I never encountered a dog I couldn't handle or get through to. I truly believe that there are no bad dogs. I am currently a student part time at NAIT and am looking for some income and movement in-between my online classes. I am available around 6 hours a day for walking, and am very flexible with my schedule and time. I have a fenced yard and a very friendly golden retriever who's good with cats and dogs. I also have 4 cats that are all cat and dog friendly as well. It's a bit of a zoo but everyone is happy and healthy. I always say the animals eat better than we do.
About: With the shared responsibilities of owning a family dog, I have learned how to properly take care of our beloved furry friends. In addition, I have been a reliable dog-walker and dog-sitter for family and friends over the years. I work a full-time job, but if you need a walk or visit I am free before 8am and after 4:30pm!! I enjoy long walks, in which I would love to have a furry companion to join me. If your dog needs the extra exercise or energy release, I am a college student athlete and I can also jog along with your dog. I will respect the routines and environment that you have implemented for your dog in your home. I will care for your dog depending on how you have your space set up.
About: Hi! We’re Cam and Vitória, a married couple who love animals and staying active. With 5+ years of pet care experience, we’ve looked after dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities, from playful puppies to easygoing seniors. What sets us apart? We do this as a team! That means extra reliability, more attention for your pets, and a lot of genuine care from experienced pet owners. We offer dog walking (perfect for pets who need exercise and fresh air) and drop-in visits (great for cats, dogs, or multi-pet households). Whether it’s a potty break, playtime, feeding, or just some extra cuddles, we’ll make sure your pets feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. We’re also happy to provide updates and photos when needed. We are both hybrid workers with flexible schedules. We have our own two cats that we take care of, but we’re also very active people who go for long walks often. We’re a reliable two-person team with flexible, hybrid work schedules, so your pet gets punctual care and lots of attention. For dog walks, we do a quick gear check (harness fit, ID tags), choose safe, low-traffic routes, and keep dogs on-leash at all times. For drop-ins, we follow your routine exactly, with feeding, litter/yard clean-up, water refresh, and a tidy lock-up.
“Samana was so amazing with my 4 babies! She made me feel so reassured and sent me lots of photos and updates through her visit. If I were to leave my cats alone I’d always rebook with her, she’s also such a ray of sunshine!! If I could give her more than 5 stars I would!”

About: I’ve cared for both a medium-sized and a small dog of my own, so I’m comfortable with different sizes, energy levels, and personalities. I have experience with walking, feeding, bathing, and playtime, and I’m confident handling both stronger and more delicate dogs Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine since I already care for my own pets. I have a flexible schedule and make sure to plan my day around walks and check-ins, so each pet gets consistent, reliable care and attention. In my home, I make sure my pets have a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. I follow their usual routine for feeding, and playtime, and give them lots of attention and love.
About: For me, a wagging tail isn’t just a greeting—it’s a language I’ve been speaking since I rescued my first pet when I was 10. Since then, my life has been defined by the wagging tails and soft purrs of the animals I’ve helped heal and protect. I don’t just see pet sitting as a job; I see it as a commitment to making sure your best friend feels safe, seen, and deeply loved while you're away. Growing up with rescues taught me how to speak their silent language—whether it’s giving a shy dog the space they need to trust me or recognizing the specific needs of a senior pet who just wants a gentle stroll. Because I’m based right in the heart of the city, your pup and I will enjoy soulful walks through the Mill Creek Ravine, peaceful mornings in Windsor, or lively adventures along Whyte Ave and the River Valley. Whether your dog needs a high-energy hike or a patient companion for a slow walk, I promise to treat them with the same devotion I’ve given to every rescue animal that has crossed my path for the last 16 years. I am available to take care of your pet at all times during the weekends and in the evenings of the workdays. I am pretty flexible to navigate the time and date that works for you, your pet, and me! My 16 years of rescue experience have made me a "safety-first" sitter who treats your home like a sanctuary. Whether navigating the River Valley or your living room, I am an expert at "door-dash" prevention and always enter/exit with extreme caution. For walkers, I am Edmonton weather-savvy, prioritizing paw protection from salt and extreme cold to keep your pups safe. For sitters, I perform daily "safety sweeps" for hazards like toxic plants or loose strings. From building trust with shy cats through "slow blinks" to ensuring dogs are securely harnessed, I provide a professional, low-stress environment. You can expect total transparency with detailed Rover Cards and photos after every visit, with local emergency vet info always on hand for absolute peace of mind.
About: I have been caring for dogs for over 7 years, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of settings. Currently studying Animal Science at the University of Alberta, I bring both academic knowledge and real-world experience to every dog I care for. I have volunteered as a dog caregiver with AARCS, where I also fostered dogs in need of a temporary home, and I currently foster with GEARS, providing dogs with a safe, loving environment while they await their forever families. Beyond dog care, I also volunteer with the FARRM animal rescue near Wetaskiwin, reflecting my broader passion for animal welfare. Through my fostering experience, I have worked extensively on obedience and general dog training, and I am always happy to work with owners on their dog's training goals as well. On weekdays I am readily available from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, fitting pet care around my university schedule. On Saturdays I am generally available from 2:00 PM onward, and Sundays I am typically free all day. I am committed to making sure every dog in my care gets the attention and time they deserve within my schedule. As I consistently have a foster dog at home, I can only provide care at your home rather than my own. This ensures your dog stays in their familiar, comfortable environment without any uncertainty around how my foster may interact with them. Your dog's safety and comfort always come first. When it comes to building trust, I never rush the process. I am fully prepared to take the slow, necessary steps to help both you and your dog feel confident and comfortable with me. Building a genuine bond with your dog is something I take seriously, as I believe it is the foundation of great care and a successful relationship for everyone involved.
About: I grew up on an acreage and have cared for animals my entire life. I began pet sitting for others early on, including for a veterinarian family, caring for dogs, cats, horses, fish, and a variety of other animals. I am currently a student at the U of A where I am studying Animal Health with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. I offer pet sitting, dog-walking, feeding/watering, exercise and daily care tailored to each animal's individual needs. I currently work part-time and volunteer at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital on Friday/Saturdays until 5pm. However this still allows me lots of free time to direct towards pet sitting and with communication I am very open to discussing scheduling. Whenever I pet/house sit at a clients home, I maintain and clean and organized environment. I prioritize cleaning up after not just the pets but myself included. I always follow rules and instructions for certain things as well in order to maintain a safe environment for everyone.
About: I have several years of experience caring for my own small dog, a poodle and bichon mix. I raised my dog from when he was only two months old, so I understand the needs of puppies as well as adult dogs. I truly enjoy spending time with dogs and paying attention to their individual personalities. I’m patient, gentle, and responsible, and I always make sure dogs feel safe and comfortable during walks. I’m especially experienced with small dogs and understand that they sometimes need a little extra care and attention. Whether your dog prefers a calm walk or a bit more exercise, I will adapt to their pace and needs. I will treat every dog with the same love and care that I give my own. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide dog walking during the day and some evenings. I spend most of my time studying from home, so I’m able to plan my day around dog walks and give each dog my full attention during our time together. I enjoy going outside for walks, so dog walking fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m happy to help dogs get exercise, fresh air, and a fun walk while their owners are busy. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully to make sure the dog feels comfortable and safe. I pay close attention to each dog’s behavior, energy level, and needs during our walks. Safety is very important to me. I always keep dogs on a secure leash, avoid unsafe situations, and make sure they get enough exercise while staying comfortable. I’m also respectful of my client’s home and belongings. I understand that pets are family members, so I treat every dog with patience, kindness, and the same care I would give my own.
About: I was lucky enough to share 15 years with my dog Kaya, raising her from a 2-month-old pup until her final day. I personally trained her, including off-leash walking, and cared for her through every life stage - from the high energy puppy phase to her senior years. I've had dogs in my life since i was very young and I very much enjoy their company - whether its going for long walks or just hanging out at home. I am currently in the process of a career change and am in school full time, working part time and am looking to fill my time with something i love doing! Pet care fits easily into my lifestyle. I’ve recently stepped away from full-time work to focus on full time studies, which means I’m home and available much more often. Currently, I only work weekends on an alternating schedule of days and evenings, leaving me with plenty of open time during the week. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. At my home, pets are welcome to relax with me in the living room or rest in my room if they prefer a quieter space. I don’t have a fenced yard, but I can make up for it with plenty of outdoor time. I live close to the river valley walking trails and nearby dog parks. I’m attentive to each pet’s unique needs, whether that means structured walks, supervised play, or quiet downtime. I take precautions to ensure pets are never left unsupervised in unsafe situations, and I’m committed to keeping them on their regular feeding, exercise, and care routines. For clients who prefer care in their own home, I respect your space and follow your instructions closely to make sure your pet feels secure and comfortable in their familiar environment. Building trust—both with pets and their people—is at the heart of how I provide care.
About: I’ve taken care of my own dogs and others for about since I can remember. I have plenty of experience and am looking to help my community out while i’m out of school until september I’m currently working part time a week so will have plenty of time for potty breaks. I am off of school for the summer so this is my only commitment at the time. I love my little fur babies! I have three dogs and a cat! Full household so I would know how to love your little guys. I would let them out for potty breaks, cuddle them and feed them :)
About: Having owned two wonderful dogs in my life and been a special friend & "aunt" of several other dogs and some cats. I am highly experienced and motivated to help you care for your beloved furry family members. I am warm, friendly and calm around animals and I find they are naturally drawn to me. I am trained in reiki and use gental reiki energy to balance and relax your pets in your absence. I do contract work and I am writing a book, so my time is flexible and I am available to spend quality time with your pets. As a sitter who would be in your home, caring for your pets, I would be able to follow your established schedule in order to cause the least distress and or disruption for your pets.
Rideau Park dog parents share their Rover experiences
Katie was booked last minute when we required someone to check in on our dog while we were away for the day. She was easy to communicate with, had an updated schedule showing her availability and even scheduled in a quick meet and greet before the day we needed her. We appreciated her detailed report on the visit!

Subha was able to come by and take care of Chester as a last minute request. She did a great job and was very thorough, making sure his paws were dry and asking about combing them so he wouldn’t mat after playing outside. Chester loved her and we wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again.

Sierra was great to deal with. Lots of communication and she even brought in my Amazon packages. We had an unfortunate situation with a bird getting into our fireplace and she was also quick to let me know about it. My dog enjoyed all the extra belly rubs. I would highly recommend Sierra!
