“Maddy O is fantastic. She came to look after our two boys (an orange cat and a tuxedo cat) while my wife and I went honeymooning. Homegirl is so friendly to talk to and extremely competent. When she walked into our home for the first time to see where things were and what she had to do, my wife felt so relieved because she kept asking all the right questions. I can not stress how reassuring it is when you're going to have someone look after a family member and the person coming in is asking all these intricate questions about their care. Another example of her competence: MaddyO technically had 2 jobs for us. 1) She was coming in to see that our boys recieved some company and their litter/food situation was alright. 2) We have a temporary housemate situation where our housemate's cats do not get along with our boys. There is a whole system of keeping the cats apart and also ensuring that our housemate didn't accidentally prevent our boys from having access to their litter box for long periods of time. MaddyO handled everything like a champ. She bought stability into the lives of our boys like the ideal government we all dream about. She managed situations super well and when I saw the pictures she kept sending of the boys, I was so happy at how comfortable they felt. Talking about animals being comfortable: both of my cats are generally affectionate but one of my boys is pretty vary of strangers. He is very cautious and hisses a bunch and gets very defensive. From what I gathered, MaddyO managed to form a peaceful situation with him where he got his own space but also felt comfortable enough to come explore and be close to her. I hate to bring in the Govt Analogy in again, but Maddy O negotiated peace with him better than most presidents do. Maddy O is a fantastic pet sitter — I will always work with her. However do I think Maddy O should also run for Premier of this Province? Maybe. Maybe she should. Hire this girl already. Seriously, you won't regret it.”

Over my years, I understand that cats are often subject to neglect as many perceives them as independent creatures, however cat-care requires comprehensive knowledge when it come to understanding how they learn and how they feel safe. Cats are more high maintenance than labeled, and I can keep up. I can provide consistent cleaning of litter, as well as 1 deep clean per week of the litter boxes, sensory and mental stimulation via toys and learning/training activities, understand diet restrictions, cat-bathing, and administrate medicine.

About: Senior care - our last pup lived to 19yrs old Saved and Rescued a pup - who now puts the hap in happy Schedule flexibility We don't have kids and we both work from home which provides flexibility and time that a lot of pups require based on their unique schedules and needs. We go on 2 walks daily and, we are close to multiple dog parks, including a fenced in dog park, to get those zoomies out. Pet care is based on what the pet is accustomed to. Routines and schedules are important for them and also for humans to predict behaviour and assess health needs including bio breaks. Our pup is accustomed to all the cuddles, pets, belly rubs and massages. We also encourage our pup to be independent and comfortable with beds or chairs to lay on in every room. Setting animals up for success is important. If a pup takes a liking to shoes...don't leave shoes out. If they like to chew, swap out interesting chew toys or swap in more stimulus through exercise and sniffing.
About: Hello everyone! I grew up on a farm in a small village in Germany, always surrounded by cats and dogs. My Persian cat was with me for 17 years, and since then I’ve cared for a 6-month-old puppy, a senior dog, two cats and rabbits. Each pet has taught me something different, from handling puppy energy to supporting older pets with patience. I recently moved to Edmonton and live in a spacious 2-bedroom apartment with lots of places to hide properly :-). I’m not ready here for a pet of my own yet, but I enjoy spending time with animals and giving them attention and structure. Money is a nice side effect, but what matters to me is your pet. I want to make sure they have a calm and comfortable experience while their loved one is away. I have a full flexible schedule and am able to work from home 7 days a week. I often go for a run and a daily walk in the river valley, which is around the corner. No house, no yard, but a spacious apartment with lots of green places around. My apartment is secure, it has lots of spots to hide if your pet needs space.

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life. Cats, dogs, birds etc! I love animals and plan on one day becoming a vet technician. I enjoy taking dogs for walks and playing with them, dogs parks are lots of fun as well! I have been trusted to take care of friends animals as well, and they are always happy with the care their pets receive from me! I am currently in post secondary, however I can still do drop ins and depending on your location & pets needs I can also still do housesitting, and my summer time will be open! I will ensure the pets have safe access to food and water as well as frequent potty breaks. I will make sure they feel safe in their environment and with me whilst they are in my care. I would play with them and be sure they have access to toys they like as well as access to treats for good behaviour.

About: I have 4 years of dog daycare and boarding in a commercial setting with an additional 4 years of house/farm sitting for clients with both dogs and cats. I have experience and love dogs of all sizes from Chihuahuas to Great Danes as well as experience with cats of all temperaments. About: I’ve had dogs in my house since I was very little. I’ve had puppies all the way up to our current senior dogs, one who is losing his vision and hearing. I enjoy walking and will treat your dog as my own. I work from home part time on a very limited/flexible schedule and have plenty of time to dedicate to your furry companion. I look forward to scheduling with you on a regular basis to fit your needs. Our dogs are given the best treatment. We train tricks and routines and remove bad behaviours only through positive reinforcement. One of our current dogs is a rescue dog and we have supported her in this manner.

I can make some exceptions :) However, I can only take job within the City of Edmonton because I do not drive. I currently work part time. 1 hour a day on weekdays. I am typically gone between 11am and 1pm. Over summer July and August I only work with Rover. I wake up at 7am and off to bed by midnight. I can get up earlier if needed.

She took the time to have a phone call so I could explain everything about my dog’s routine, health, activity restrictions, and behaviours. It was my first time using Rover and she made me feel very comfortable leaving our dog with her. I received daily updates which was very much appreciated. She regularly updated us and was patient with our dog….a special mention that she and her family happily agreed to host her for an extra night as our flight was delayed.
