“This was our first time using Rover and it was a great experience. Jody gave us peace of mind, sent us photos and followed directions. Our pup was happy to have her here! Will definitely book with Jody again.”

“Ardele was very professional and loving towards my 2 cats while we took our first big trip away from them. I felt totally comfortable leaving them in her hands. We had daily updates and pictures so it made our trip less stressful knowing they were being looked after so well. Side note, one of my cats is a little snarky and Ardele was able to make friends with him in no time ❤️”

About: I have been around dogs my entire life, and adore the love and energy they bring to a home! I am responsible while taking care of pets, and make sure they have fun along the way. I am available during the days for check ins on pets and dog walks! Happy to work with your schedule and the needs of your pet. I will rely on your instructions regarding your home, and the needs of your pet. I am not available to have pets at my home.
“I do not have enough positive things to say about our experience with Cynthia. Although new to the rover scene, her love of animals and attention to detail is so obvious. My guys immediately took to her upon first meeting - and I knew we had made the right choice! She truly went over and above to ensure that both our home and our precious kitties were safe and happy while away. I would not hesitate to recommend her in any capacity for your pet sitting needs 12 out of 10. Thank you, Cynthia!!!!!”

About: I have several years of experience caring for my own small dog, a poodle and bichon mix. I raised my dog from when he was only two months old, so I understand the needs of puppies as well as adult dogs. I truly enjoy spending time with dogs and paying attention to their individual personalities. I’m patient, gentle, and responsible, and I always make sure dogs feel safe and comfortable during walks. I’m especially experienced with small dogs and understand that they sometimes need a little extra care and attention. Whether your dog prefers a calm walk or a bit more exercise, I will adapt to their pace and needs. I will treat every dog with the same love and care that I give my own. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide dog walking during the day and some evenings. I spend most of my time studying from home, so I’m able to plan my day around dog walks and give each dog my full attention during our time together. I enjoy going outside for walks, so dog walking fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m happy to help dogs get exercise, fresh air, and a fun walk while their owners are busy. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully to make sure the dog feels comfortable and safe. I pay close attention to each dog’s behavior, energy level, and needs during our walks. Safety is very important to me. I always keep dogs on a secure leash, avoid unsafe situations, and make sure they get enough exercise while staying comfortable. I’m also respectful of my client’s home and belongings. I understand that pets are family members, so I treat every dog with patience, kindness, and the same care I would give my own.
“From the moment my dog met Andrea, she was enamored. Pepper is normally suspicious and barks at people who come to the door, but I think Andrea has such a calm quiet gentle demeanor, that Pepper felt comfortable with her right away! The cats, too, came right over and were mesmerized. Andrea carefully listened to and took note of all instructions, was easy to communicate with throughout, and I had absolutely no worries leaving my pets and home in her care. She got some great photos of my pets during visits, too, so I could see how content they were. Andrea also noticed and responded to my senior dog's needs in terms of energy levels--walking her when she was energetic and staying chill when she needed that. I highly recommend Andrea!”

About: I simply love animals. I was really upset that my pet didn't come to Canada with me. Then I heard about this website from a friend, and I thought it would be a really meaningful thing for me. I am a undergraduate student, full of energy and schedule is flexible. I am available after 3 pm on Thursday and Friday, weekends are always available for me(unless there is an emergency or appointment, and I will inform clients in advance). My cat has a lot of freedom in my home, unless she's trying dangerous behaviors (like chewing on electrical cords). We have an automatic food/water dispenser, so I generally don't interfere much. I take her for walks when necessary, but these are always done under my supervision. For clients' cats, I supervise them fully during feeding time to prevent accidents, especially for cats with digestive issues or younger cats. Walking dogs is new to me, and medium-sized dogs are very easy for me; I can easily hike with them until they're satisfied.
About: My French Bulldog mix passed away 3 years ago at the old age of 13. Since then I've been wanting a new dog but with kids and life it's just not the right time for our family. Hoping to fill the void by caring for your pet! I would be honored if you trusted us with caring for a member of your family. Dogs who stay with me get walks through the beautiful University of Alberta farm. I would love to try and run with your dog as well if they would like that. I typically run 3-5 km once per week and my previous house guests seem to love the excersize. In the summer we often spend weekends at the family cabin and our furry friends always have an amazing time visiting. The cabin is 1 hour west of the city - a perfect dog retreat. All furry visitors are welcome and showered with attention. All family at the cabin are either previous or current dog owners including two that have been through service dog training. I do work full time but close to home. Our household, along with two boys one 15 and one 7 years old. Evenings are spent together enjoying the outdoors when we can. We'd love to have a dog come and enjoy our evening time together and helping us make sure we don't skip our evening walks. We would love your pet as if they were our own. Daily walks, love and attention. Pets would sleep with me or in the crate whatever you prefer. Can keep up with training as needed.
“She came everyday as requested. Our cat seemed happy in the photos that were sent and everything was fine when we got home. Glad to have found someone to keep the little guy company!”

“Karen and Dan were wonderful! They sent lots of pictures and updates throughout their stay and made us feel very comfortable trusting our puppy with them. I would recommend them to anyone!”

“Isabella does so well checking in on our pup when we’re away at work. She’s on time every time, follows instructions perfectly and does great at communicating anything she finds or has questions about. Having a puppy means there’s behaviours you’re unsure about and Isabella assures you that your pup is still behaving well when you aren’t there. My wife and I are extremely grateful for her help!”

About: I was lucky enough to share 15 years with my dog Kaya, raising her from a 2-month-old pup until her final day. I personally trained her, including off-leash walking, and cared for her through every life stage - from the high energy puppy phase to her senior years. I've had dogs in my life since i was very young and I very much enjoy their company - whether its going for long walks or just hanging out at home. I am currently in the process of a career change and am in school full time, working part time and am looking to fill my time with something i love doing! Pet care fits easily into my lifestyle. I’ve recently stepped away from full-time work to focus on full time studies, which means I’m home and available much more often. Currently, I only work weekends on an alternating schedule of days and evenings, leaving me with plenty of open time during the week. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. At my home, pets are welcome to relax with me in the living room or rest in my room if they prefer a quieter space. I don’t have a fenced yard, but I can make up for it with plenty of outdoor time. I live close to the river valley walking trails and nearby dog parks. I’m attentive to each pet’s unique needs, whether that means structured walks, supervised play, or quiet downtime. I take precautions to ensure pets are never left unsupervised in unsafe situations, and I’m committed to keeping them on their regular feeding, exercise, and care routines. For clients who prefer care in their own home, I respect your space and follow your instructions closely to make sure your pet feels secure and comfortable in their familiar environment. Building trust—both with pets and their people—is at the heart of how I provide care.
About: Hi! I’m Bell! I’ve had dogs my entire life and am experienced in taking care of both large dogs and senior dogs! I am also comfortable around reactive dogs and understand their particular needs. Dogs are creatures of habit, so I do my best to keep up with their usual routines in your stead making the stressful separation from their family as least disruptive to their life as possible! I have entirely open availability and am able to do same day scheduling. I am flexible and can adapt to the routines and schedules you and your pets prefer. My main goal is to ensure that your pet feels just as comfortable in their home as they always do. Before you leave I will ask you for their regular routine, habits, walk routes, peculiarities, etc, to make sure that the experience brings as little stress as possible to your pet. I am also aware that some pets are more cuddly than others and will always do my best to respect their boundaries and allow them space to decompress. Typically, if they have a bed or other sleeping/relaxing area, I respect that that is their space and won’t approach them there unless absolutely necessary.
About: I am a dog mom of a 3 year old cockapoo, named Reggie. I got Reggie as a puppy, so I had the joy of going through the puppy experience and training. And, still practice basic training with Reggie everyday. I love spending time with other friends dogs, who always gets excited to see me. I am patient, and clam whenever I meet a new dog, and always make sure the dog feel comfortable around me. Available during the weekdays and weekends from 10:00am to 9:00pm. At the moment, I am available for tbe month of March and April. However, available can change due to work. I am able to look after one dog at my place, which I have my own dog to keep them company. But would prefer to dog sit at your home, if I could also bring mg dog. I live in an apartment main level and have no fence.
“Jasmine was diligent, going through Scooter's care instructions for the visit, following along with his medication instructions for his gum infection. Checked in, polite, made Scooter comfortable.”

Rideau Park pet parents share their Rover experiences
Excellent care from Judy! Our pets where in great hands during our trip, with Judy taking exceptional care and tenderness towards them. On time and organized, Judy provided my pets with the love and attention completely putting my mind at ease while I was away.

Courtney is an absolute sweetie and took great care of our cat. Communication was clear and consistent, and I appreciated the updates! It was a dream to have Courtney’s help. I highly recommend her as a pet sitter. We will reach out any time we need trusted care!
Katie, thank you so much for taking extra care during this stay to look after Ohana between the meds and SubQ fluids. I really appreciate you coming over before the visit so I could teach you how. I really trust and appreciate your services! Having a sick old cat who is in good hands when you’re away is such a relief to feel!

Ardele was so wonderful. She completely understood how difficult it is for my antisocial cats to deal with the intrusion of a stranger in their home. She kept her visits as brief as she could and the litter and food areas were cleaner than when I left. My cats were pretty much back to normal after a few hours and that has never happened before. I wouldn't hesitate to use her again. By far the best cat sitter I have ever had.
