John got along with my three elderly kitties really well; they seemed to want to adopt him! He took great care of Finn, my 16-year old diabetic ginger cat, who needs 2 regular shots of insulin a day. The photos he sent were a real highlight of my day! I missed them a lot, but it was a huge comfort to know they were being looked after.

Madison was really great! We needed someone for a quick drop in and feeding our dogs Luna and Millie in the middle of the day while we were at work. Madison was very kind and sent us updates and pictures of our girls while there, played with them and let them out in the yard for a potty break, giving us piece of mind that our furry babies has someone to give them some love during the day! I would highly recommend her. :)

About: I've had dogs and cats most of my life until the last few years. I can provide care as needed by you and your pets. I'm flexible with availability. I can work around different schedules, in many instances, to allow for different care needs for feeding or walks, or play. I treat them as my own, feeding, playing, or just giving attention based on the needs of you, or your pets, while you are away.

About: I enjoy helping dogs stay comfortable and relaxed in their usual routine. I offer dependable walks, check-ins, feeding, playtime, and companionship with a calm, patient approach. I'm always happy to take dogs on long walks or play some fetch to help them run off some energy:) My schedule is flexible and I work from home frequently on week days so that makes it easy for me to pop over to people's places and check on their pets, feed them, drop in to administer medications or take them on a walk or play session. My home is better suited to cat clients who need somewhere else to stay while mom and dad are away:) I have large windows, a supervised balcony space, a lot of cat toys (including interactive toys) and puzzles, supplies like spare cat beds and scratching trees. And of course, they are always welcome on the furniture for cuddles when they're here:)

Ardele was very professional and loving towards my 2 cats while we took our first big trip away from them. I felt totally comfortable leaving them in her hands. We had daily updates and pictures so it made our trip less stressful knowing they were being looked after so well. Side note, one of my cats is a little snarky and Ardele was able to make friends with him in no time ❤️

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for friends and family for years but never owned my own. I have also helped my sister in training her large breed puppy over the last year and am confident with dogs that are larger or strong on a leash. I have my own cats so can’t care for animals in my home but have evenings free to care for your fur baby whenever their schedule needs it! I will care for your home and pets like it is my own and ensure any safety and security measures are maintained including double checking fences, gates, and door locks and security systems

About: With the shared responsibilities of owning a family dog, I have learned how to properly take care of our beloved furry friends. In addition, I have been a reliable dog-walker and dog-sitter for family and friends over the years. I work a full-time job, but if you need a walk or visit I am free before 8am and after 4:30pm!! I enjoy long walks, in which I would love to have a furry companion to join me. If your dog needs the extra exercise or energy release, I am a college student athlete and I can also jog along with your dog. I will respect the routines and environment that you have implemented for your dog in your home. I will care for your dog depending on how you have your space set up.

Judy is an all-star cat sitter. My cat Messi gravitated towards Judy from the first meet and greet and they’ve been getting on fantastic ever since. Judy is always super accommodating and easy going and goes above and beyond to make sure your kitty is comfortable, and well taken care of. She took care of feeding, cleaning the litter box, ensured the cat water fountain was functioning properly, grooming, playing, made sure the bird videos were playing on the tv, belly rubs etc. The sign of a good cat sitter is when you are at ease being away from your fur baby knowing that your little one is in good hands.

About: Hi! We’re Cam and Vitória, a married couple who love animals and staying active. With 5+ years of pet care experience, we’ve looked after dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities, from playful puppies to easygoing seniors. What sets us apart? We do this as a team! That means extra reliability, more attention for your pets, and a lot of genuine care from experienced pet owners. We offer dog walking (perfect for pets who need exercise and fresh air) and drop-in visits (great for cats, dogs, or multi-pet households). Whether it’s a potty break, playtime, feeding, or just some extra cuddles, we’ll make sure your pets feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. We’re also happy to provide updates and photos when needed. We are both hybrid workers with flexible schedules. We have our own two cats that we take care of, but we’re also very active people who go for long walks often. We’re a reliable two-person team with flexible, hybrid work schedules, so your pet gets punctual care and lots of attention. For dog walks, we do a quick gear check (harness fit, ID tags), choose safe, low-traffic routes, and keep dogs on-leash at all times. For drop-ins, we follow your routine exactly, with feeding, litter/yard clean-up, water refresh, and a tidy lock-up.

I do not have enough positive things to say about our experience with Cynthia. Although new to the rover scene, her love of animals and attention to detail is so obvious. My guys immediately took to her upon first meeting - and I knew we had made the right choice! She truly went over and above to ensure that both our home and our precious kitties were safe and happy while away. I would not hesitate to recommend her in any capacity for your pet sitting needs 12 out of 10. Thank you, Cynthia!!!!!

Sarah will be dogsitting for us this weekend so I scheduled a few drop-ins ahead of time so she could meet our dog, Leo. She was so good with him and completely knew how to respond to his anxiety and reactive behaviour. By the time she left, I think he may have liked her more than me :) My mind is now at ease as we go on vacation. I highly recommend Sarah, particularly for anxious and/or reactive dogs. I'm sure she can easily handle chill dogs too!

Victoria is awesome and agreed to my cat-sitting request on fairly short notice. Meet-and-greet was set-up and I had a chance to introduce her to my cats. Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Sitting in Rideau Park on Rover is $24.42 per visit (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 1,149 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Rideau Park. About 88% of Rideau Park sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Rideau Park stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:

  • Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
  • House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
  • Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.

Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rideau Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
