“Heather was excellent! She came for a meet & greet and was able to follow all care instructions well. She sent me photos and an update, and they seemed happy! I also appreciate her flexibility in coming to care for them on short notice. Thanks so much!”

“Jenna-Lee was fantastic. She was friendly, reliable, and it was clear how much she genuinely cares about animals. She provided detailed updates after each visit with my cat, which gave me great peace of mind, and she followed all instructions perfectly. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter and will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you, Jenna-Lee!”

About: I've been a longtime cat foster with a local animal rescue, and have lived with pets almost all my life. I have experience with clicker and target training with both dogs and cats! My first clicker trainee was my cat, Oscar. With the rescue, I gained experience with diabetes treatment. I'm always happy to learn more about animal care. I have a fairly flexible schedule, which lends me the freedom to spend more time with your pet. My other daily tasks are very portable. I have good experience with pet needs such as feeding, crating, nail trimming, bathing, and minor medical attention such as giving medications and diabetes management. I regularly research animal behavior and training methods to help me be a more effective support. I'm flexible about visit times, locations, dog size, and pricing. I have some physical limitations and only use transit. Feel free to send me a message and we can discuss things further. I'm happy to discuss alternatives that would be suitable everyone.
“I am beyond thrilled with the care Ella provides for my dog! Every time we arrive, my dog can hardly contain her excitement as her tail wags, she howls in excitement, and how eagerly she runs to greet Ella. It's such a comforting feeling knowing that she loves spending time with Ella, which speaks volumes about the level of care provided. Ella is great with dogs, and it shows in every interaction. She’s patient, attentive, and truly understands my dog's needs and quirks. She has extensive experience taking care of dogs, including her own pup, Ron! My dog has so much fun playing with Ron. Whether it's playtime in the yard, walks, or chilling on the couch, my dog always comes home happy, content, and to a good sleep. One of the things I appreciate most are the regular updates Ella sends. The photos and videos of my dog having fun and enjoying herself give me so much peace of mind while I'm away. It's clear that she's not just being looked after, but genuinely cared for and loved. Ella is also reliable and professional. She’s always punctual and is flexible with scheduling, which makes everything so much easier. If you're searching for someone who will treat your dog like their own and provide the highest level of care, I wholeheartedly recommend Ella!”

About: I’ve got aims to become a dog trainer. I’ve had the pleasure of caring for several pets, mainly dogs and rabbits. Being familiar with prey species, I’ve got a soft spot for the timid and fearful dog in your life. I’m working to become a dog trainer, and I’d be more than happy to support your training goals when I’m with your pet. I’m available until 11am and after 4pm weekdays. Weekends are generally open, especially with advanced notice. As I work to become a trainer, making time for you and your pet is a priority for me. Your pet is unique and you know them best, so I’ll aim to learn what your needs and expectations are well in advance of providing care. With your pet, I am attentive to any needs they communicate and respond accordingly.
“Katia did a great job looking after my two sphynx cats when I took a last minute trip away. They were very well looked after and got lots of attention! I would definitely call on Katia again to look after my two special nakies!”

About: I have experience caring for dogs, cats, and other pets, including feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic medications, maintaining routines, and providing lots of attention, patience, and affection. As a university student, pet care fits easily into my routine because I have a flexible schedule. My flexible schedule allows for me to provide consistent walks, bathroom breaks, playtime, and companionship to the animal I am caring for. Whether in my home or in my client’s home, I take caring for pets very seriously. I make sure to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment while following each pet’s individual routine. I think it is important to maintain the pet’s routine to ensure the pet gets enough exercise, playtime, bathroom breaks, and proper administration of medication. I also respect client’s homes and always leave them clean and secure.
“Ava is our to-go pet sitter for our cat Tito! She is just such a sweet and attentive human! She sends tons of photos while pet sitting and in all of them it seems like our cat truly feels comfortable and trusts her, it's even funny to see how he doesn't seem to miss us and is just enjoying his time with her. She is also very polite and professional in all the interactions. I truly recommend her to everyone.”

“Madalynn was excellent. I have a very anxious, jumpy Great Dane that Madalynn met, and she was very calm about his frustration and anxiety. She worked with him using treats and was able to settle him. She never showed any fear at all! I will have her back again!”

About: Hello, Pet Parents! 👋 I’ve spent my entire life surrounded by animals—from farm cats in my childhood to training our family puppy for agility competitions in my teens. Animals aren’t just a hobby for me; they are my passion. While in university, I dedicated my time to volunteering at the SPCA, helping rehabilitate and comfort large, fearful dogs. Today, my home is filled with love from our two cats—including my 17-year-old senior orange tabby, Naranjito—and our family dog. Why Choose Me? Through years of personal pet ownership and professional pet sitting (including dogs, cats, and birds), I have developed a comfort level with specialized medical care: Senior Care: Understanding the gentle pace and extra patience older pets need. Injectable Medications & Testing: Experienced with diabetic care, including blood tests and insulin injections. Special Needs & Emergency Calm: Capable of managing complex conditions like canine epilepsy and severe allergies, ensuring your pet is comforted and safe during vulnerable moments. To us, our pets are a wonderful, beloved part of our world. But to them? We are their entire world. That simple realization shapes everything I do as a pet sitter. Every interaction, every walk, and every cuddle session comes down to one fundamental question: How is this animal experiencing the world, and how can I make that experience better? Animals experience life through a completely different lens—and often, a completely different nose! When your dog goes for a walk, it isn't just about physical exercise; it’s their morning newspaper, their social feed, and their grand adventure. When I’m with your pets, I act as their bridge to a bigger, more exciting world: For the dogs: It’s giving them the time and patience to sniff out every trail, explore new scents, and satisfy their curiosity. (My own pup always inspects my pant legs to get the full report on which fur-friends I’ve visited!) For the cats: It’s tuning into their subtle signals, and letting them explore at their own pace—whether that's investigating a new toy or scent-checking where I've been. I don't believe in "one-size-fits-all" pet sitting. Every animal has a distinct personality, and unique comfort zones. My goal is to meet them right where they are and provide genuine mental and physical enrichment while you're away. I treat every pet as the center of my universe while they're in my care—because I know you are the center of theirs. I work as a part-time letter carrier, but I have mornings (until 12), almost all evenings, and most weekends available to care for your pet(s). I have been called "too trusting" in my past... but this has luckily never injured me in a serious way. In fact, the worst thing is realizing that my standard of trustworthiness is NOT universal... but that has made me more skeptical of others when it really matters. Caring for your pet is something that requires a lot of trust of me, and I appreciate your skepticism. I wouldn't leave my fur-babies with just anyone, too. Training dogs when I was younger made me much more aware of body language and different personalities. I am always watching for potential stressors or safety issues. I love giving dogs the freedom of an off-leash area, but would have to trust that they will listen to me before being comfortable with any safety risks involved with that.
“I had Sarah-Beth take care of my two cats with in-home visits while I was away for 5 days. The photos, videos and text updates she provided reassured me that my boys were in good hands. I would highly recommend her for your pet care.”

“Sonia and her husband did a wonderful job taking care of my little cat Rudy this weekend. Rudy is shy around strangers but I received photos showing she was interacting with them both! I came home to a happy cat. I am relieved to have Sonia booked for two weeks this summer, I will be comfortable leaving Rudy while I am away! I highly recommend booking Sonia!”

“Lori has taken care of my cat Noodles many times, she always sends me photos and I can tell my cat feels happy and safe. I would highly recommend her services for any of your pet care needs!”

“We were so lucky to have Miranda take care of our home and cat. We were looking for someone on short notice who felt comfortable jumping right in for a full week with little instructions and who felt comfortable with our quirky old home, alarm systems, and cat. We just looked her up through Rover, contacted her and she did the rest. She kept in constant contact and even spent extra time just making sure our cat wasn’t lonely. We will defiantly be asking her again when we need someone to cat/home sit. Thank you Miranda.”

“First time having Lillia drop in on my two cats and the one decided to have some medical issues. Lillia was professional, provided frequent and thorough updates, and willing/able to adapt to the situation until I got home. Hopefully next time it's less eventful!”

We’ve had Miranda and Aaron as cat sitters a few times now, and they are always great—thoughtful and reliable, with cute updates and pics. They pay attention to the small details and personal preferences of our cats, and go above and beyond to take good care of them. We’ll definitely contact them again the next time we need a cat sitter. Thanks Miranda and Aaron!

Vanessa is great at what she does and I would highly recommend. She cared for my cats for 3 days while I was out of the city and everything went extremely smooth, taking a huge weight off my shoulders. My one cat, Ginny, is an extremely shy girl and NEVER normally greets strangers - well Vanessa had her out for pets and playing with her toy after ONE day. I was shocked to say the least. 10/10 service :)

This was our first time using Rover, so we really looked for someone who met our needs and made us feel comfortable leaving our pet with. Ella was great and exceeded expectations! Her reports were thoughtful and reassuring. She cared for our dog in a very personal way. I think our dog was a little disappointed she stopped coming by once we got home lol definitely would recommend Ella, and will be using her again!!!

Alina has completely won over our kitties! They’ve always been a bit suspicious of cat sitters in the past, but they absolutely adore her. She takes such great care of them and always sends thoughtful updates and photos, which gives us so much peace of mind while we’re away. We’re so happy to have found someone our cats genuinely enjoy spending time with. Thank you, Alina—we truly appreciate you! 🐾💕

Heather is amazing! I’ve never left my cat alone before or had someone look after him other than family. Being new to the city and not knowing anyone meant I couldn’t really leave him alone. He is usually so shy around strangers, but he absolutely adored Heather!! She sent me updates and pictures the entire time. I’m so grateful as my request was a little last minute but she was so flexible. She followed my instructions perfectly. I’m so happy that I found her, I feel so much relief knowing there’s someone here I can trust to care for my cat the same way I do!

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Edmonton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
