“Ana is a complete lifesaver. We had major renovations start in our home earlier than expected and my dog is 14 years old this month. No way I could leave hom at home with strangers making sounds at all hours of the day! She was able to take him in last minute, and provided many updates, photos, and videos throughout the day. Honestly, he is so excited to go he screams when he knows we are almost there. She takes better care of him that I probably do. I highly recommend Ana. She is really nice, takes great care of animals, and clearly loves them. Even my old mop of a boy.”

“Stella had such a wonderful time with Vivianna and her pups. I got pictures throughout the day of Stella outside playing, and going for a walk. I highly recommend Vivianna she clearly loves dogs!!”

“My dog really enjoyed his time with Heather. She made sure Toby was looked after and even made some treats for him. My dog is a handful but she was patient and very attentive. It was already a hit for my dog and I am glad it was a successful meet and greet experience.”

“My boy Leif had a great time with Jodeen. He can be sensitive, but Jodeen's kindness and genuine love of dogs put him at ease almost instantly. We will definitely be going back for more dog sitting in the future. So glad to have met you Jodeen!”

“Thank you so much for looking after our little pup. She was very happy to be in your home. We appreciated the updates, and the photos. Your communication was top-notch. Loki was sound asleep when we picked her up so obviously she was comfortable in your home. Thank you again.”

“It’s been a few visits now for day care, and my dog has come to love this place. They have taken such great care of him, you can tell he’s well taken care of. My dog has an anxiety, caused by previous years in a kennel. Now he’s seems a lot calmer, but the real test will come for when he will be staying overnight.”

“Shalet is so kind and reassuring. I really appreciated all the photos and updates she sent throughout the day to keep me informed. Thank you as well for all the delicious treats and meals you spoiled my dog with! He had an amazing time and will definitely miss his new dog friends. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Shalet again!”

“Our dog Ollie seemed to be super happy when we picked him up! They made sure to ask for any instructions for our dog and had plenty of space to separate Ollie from another dog they were watching. They let Ollie outside several times which he loves and they were great people to contact they answered right away and were friendly! I would definitely book with them again!”

“Natasha is an amazing person and a sitter. I felt so at peace knowing she was taking care of my puppy Mango. Mango always came home happy and Natasha tended to her carefully. Natasha definitely knows what she’s doing. She is also very flexible with pick up/drop off timings. I will be requesting her to be my sitter again. Highly recommend.”

“We knew the second we walked in, Lynette was our person. Her home was spotless, Jazzy ran in like she owned the place, and Lynette beamed with love and affection for our girl immediately. Jazzy jumped into her arms and gave kisses like she's known her forever. If you're looking for someone that truly loves your dog like her own, keeps them safe, and creates an atmosphere we all want to be a part of.....then Lynette is your person too! Thank you for loving Jazzy ♥️”

“Rufana’s downtown location was amazing, easy to pick up and drop off. She took great care of Gryffin, and accommodated a last minute booking request. Will absolutely use her again!”

About: I’m known as the go to dog sitter among my friends and coworkers! I love having another personality around the house and my two dogs love it too! My dogs are westie and a blue heeler, so I have some experience with working and high energy breeds! We have tons of walking paths around, river access and a dog park nearby. I’m confident with crates/kennels and giving meds. I have quite a bit of free time and when I do work, I can stop at home for an extra potty break mid shift to make sure all is well My own dogs are crate trained and I prioritize some on and off leash time daily. My boys love frisbee and fetch in the fully fenced back yard and we make time for a few dogsports too! Both are super social with other dogs, we have many adventures camping and meeting with friends.
“Brenda did an excellent job of caring for Mishka for the day while we hosted a family gathering. She provided multiple updates throughout the day, and even made her some tasty liver treats. We will definitely book with Brenda again for any day care or boarding needs.”

About: I own a pitbull chocolate lab mix, hes a rescue and is my joy in life. I've taught him manners and made him many friends, he and I are always in the market for new dog friends! I own a dog so walks daily lots of snuggles and bring him to see his friends almost daily. And the park as often as possible. I live in a house with my dog, we hangout outside, go for walks, the park, and we play outback in the yard, and wrestling, sometimes ice cream treats on hot days!
“Nicole was so great with Bailey today! She helped us out on short notice because of a family emergency and the whole time she sent photos and videos to put our minds @ ease. We are so grateful to have found Nicole and will absolutely rebook in the future.”

“This was Pandas second visit and she was beyond excited when we got there! Once again we picked up a calm Panda which would not have been the case if she stayed home alone!”

“We just finished our first two days of daycare with Julie. Tashi took to her right away and was comfortable in the space. Julie asks good questions about a new dog, and is cautious about mixing dogs together until she knows them well. It’s clear she has experience with dogs and cares about them. It’s comforting for me to know that she is taking care to keep the dogs safe and well. Tashi got supervised playtime in the backyard as well as a walk and is relaxed and tired at the end of the day after we got home. We’re happy that we found Julie.”

Dylan and his roommates are AWESOME! My baby girl always comes home so happy and exhausted from all the playtime, walks, and love and care they give her. I’m so grateful to these guys for taking such great care of her. I’m so happy I found this gem for big dogs in Edmonton! Highly recommend! ❤️

Ana did an amazing job watching our babies. One of our dogs is deaf, very reactive, and very selective about people. However, she loves Ana! We got lots of updates and photos/videos throughout the day. Our other dog, Oskar, was not keen on having to go home today lol Very excellent and accommodating care! Will definitely book in the future!

Keith is an amazing dog sitter! He is trustworthy, reliable and has good communication. He watched our pup for the day and gave us regular updates with pictures and videos (which we absolutely loved!). It was easy to communicate with him and he is professional and I can tell he loves dogs and cares for them well. Brownie was a happy pup when I picked him up and I'm sure he's looking forward to his next visit with Keith! I would highly recommend Keith for dog sitting!

Zoey did a wonderful job taking care of my dog, Mia. She was very communicative, always responsive, and kept me updated with photos and videos, which made me feel very comfortable. Mia can be a bit anxious, but she handled her perfectly and cared for her with so much love. I would absolutely trust Zoey again and highly recommend her.

Paloma was amazing! I’m so happy we found her. The most important thing for me was that my puppy was excited to see her every morning. She took such good care of him, made sure he got his walks, and even worked on teaching him some commands. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in good hands. Highly recommend Paloma to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Edmonton commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
