“Marie is a wonderful and caring sitter. She took my dog in last-minute, and cared for her like she was her own. Her house is well prepared for hosting and she sent me frequent updates on how my pup was doing. She also took some beautiful frame-worthy pictures of my girl. I would recommend Marie to anyone!”

“Ana is a complete lifesaver. We had major renovations start in our home earlier than expected and my dog is 14 years old this month. No way I could leave hom at home with strangers making sounds at all hours of the day! She was able to take him in last minute, and provided many updates, photos, and videos throughout the day. Honestly, he is so excited to go he screams when he knows we are almost there. She takes better care of him that I probably do. I highly recommend Ana. She is really nice, takes great care of animals, and clearly loves them. Even my old mop of a boy.”

About: I own a pitbull chocolate lab mix, hes a rescue and is my joy in life. I've taught him manners and made him many friends, he and I are always in the market for new dog friends! I own a dog so walks daily lots of snuggles and bring him to see his friends almost daily. And the park as often as possible. I live in a house with my dog, we hangout outside, go for walks, the park, and we play outback in the yard, and wrestling, sometimes ice cream treats on hot days!
“We were SO happy with the care Umber provided for Maple! She was incredibly responsive and extremely knowledgeable on dog behaviour and training and ensuring our pup felt comfortable and safe in a new environment. Blue and Honey are so sweet and so well behaved and Maple had a ton of fun with them!! She gained two new besties! We would absolutely recommend Umber to anyone.”

“We can’t recommend Julie enough! She was extra attentive and supportive with our two dogs, keeping us updated every step of the way. She was lovely with both dogs, and even our more anxious pup took to her immediately. It was so clear she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after, and it gave us such peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such good hands.”

“Katrina and Ryan are an amazing couple who provided day sitting to my energetic young lab on a number of occasions. My pup comes home happy, healthy, tired and is eager to return for more fun each time. They provide a safe, loving environment for my pup and report on her daily activities/progress with photos. I trust them and highly recommend them. I will continue to use their services and promote them to others.”

“Paloma was amazing! I’m so happy we found her. The most important thing for me was that my puppy was excited to see her every morning. She took such good care of him, made sure he got his walks, and even worked on teaching him some commands. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in good hands. Highly recommend Paloma to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!”

“Marissa took care of our two very different dogs, a 14 week old puppy and a 16 year old senior for 2 daytime house sitting visits. She was prompt in communication, arrived on time and clearly cared for our dogs ensuring they were happy and well looked after. We came home to two tired and content pups, and she even cleaned up after a couple accidents. We were happy with her care but more proactive updates and clarifying questions would have helped put us at ease. Overall she did a great job!”

Are you looking for a loving home to board your pet while you travel? Board your pet with me! I am home full-time, which allows me to dedicate my full attention to your pet. I have spent my life around and caring for animals, from walking our family's greyhound to round the clock care of and bottle feeding a stray kitten we found who was just a few weeks old. I am dedicated, kind and love animals. With a large, fully fenced back yard, there is plenty of room for your pet to play when weather permits. And best of all, I offer pick up and drop off service for clients living in the Edmonton area. In my fully funished basement dedicated to pet friendly boarding in my home, I use pet-safe products to keep the space clean. If you'd like to take a tour of my pet sitting space, I'm happy to offer a walk through at your convenience. I live with my significant other, Janaya. Together, we are parents to 4 fur babies (3 cats and a dog). Our pets live upstairs. My pet-sitting space is separated by a door between the main floor and basement, allowing me to focus on your pet completely during boarding.
“Adrianna and her partner took such great care of Finn when I needed a last minute sitter! She provided updates about him while in her care which I appreciated and was friendly the way through from booking to pick-up. Thanks Adrianna :)”

“Brenda was a big hit with my dogs. She has a nice fenced yard and was very engaged with them - I wasn't worried about them getting into anything unsupervised. My Australian shepherd is attached to me like GLUE, and the second day they were over she didn't even run up to me squealing when I arrived as she was so busy and focused on her toy and our other pup. The two of them had a lovely time and it's amazing having someone local to Edmonton we can trust for daycare ♥️ The dogs even enjoyed some snuggles in bed (with prior permission of course) as we picked them up late on one of the days. You can tell Brenda loves dogs a lot. Thanks Brenda!”

Ella provided exceptional care for my dog on short notice. She was patient, calm, and incredibly understanding of his anxiety, and she took the time to help him settle in. Her kindness and reliability made a stressful situation so much easier. Highly recommend Ella's services.

Ana did an amazing job watching our babies. One of our dogs is deaf, very reactive, and very selective about people. However, she loves Ana! We got lots of updates and photos/videos throughout the day. Our other dog, Oskar, was not keen on having to go home today lol Very excellent and accommodating care! Will definitely book in the future!

Keith is an amazing dog sitter! He is trustworthy, reliable and has good communication. He watched our pup for the day and gave us regular updates with pictures and videos (which we absolutely loved!). It was easy to communicate with him and he is professional and I can tell he loves dogs and cares for them well. Brownie was a happy pup when I picked him up and I'm sure he's looking forward to his next visit with Keith! I would highly recommend Keith for dog sitting!

We had such an amazing experience with this dog sitter! We needed someone last minute, and she was incredibly accommodating and responsive, which immediately put us at ease. From the moment we dropped our dogs off, we knew they were in great hands. She took such great care of them while we were able to relax and enjoy our time in the city. It’s clear she genuinely loves and understands dogs—ours came back happy, calm, and well cared for, which says everything. We also really appreciated the updates and communication while we were away. If you’re thinking about sending your dogs to her, do it—you won’t regret it. Finding someone you trust with your pets is huge, and she exceeded all of our expectations. We will absolutely be returning in the future!

We just finished our first two days of daycare with Julie. Tashi took to her right away and was comfortable in the space. Julie asks good questions about a new dog, and is cautious about mixing dogs together until she knows them well. It’s clear she has experience with dogs and cares about them. It’s comforting for me to know that she is taking care to keep the dogs safe and well. Tashi got supervised playtime in the backyard as well as a walk and is relaxed and tired at the end of the day after we got home. We’re happy that we found Julie.

Zoey did a wonderful job taking care of my dog, Mia. She was very communicative, always responsive, and kept me updated with photos and videos, which made me feel very comfortable. Mia can be a bit anxious, but she handled her perfectly and cared for her with so much love. I would absolutely trust Zoey again and highly recommend her.

Paloma was amazing! I’m so happy we found her. The most important thing for me was that my puppy was excited to see her every morning. She took such good care of him, made sure he got his walks, and even worked on teaching him some commands. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in good hands. Highly recommend Paloma to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Edmonton commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
