“I was very happy with the care George received. Adina sent daily pictures and videos of George. I could tell he was very happy and well loved. I will definitely book with Adina again. It made our holiday more enjoyable knowing I didn’t have to worry or feel guilty about leaving my dog.”

“We truly cannot say enough good things about Marianne. They are, without a doubt, the best pet sitter we’ve ever had. From the very first meet and greet, Marianne was incredibly friendly, thoughtful, and thorough. They took the time to learn everything about our dog, Minnie, and made sure they were fully prepared to give her the best possible care during our trip to Ontario. That level of care and attention immediately put us at ease. Throughout Minnie’s stay, Marianne sent us frequent updates with photos and videos, which meant the world to us while we were missing her so much. It was so reassuring to see how happy, relaxed, and comfortable Minnie was. And on Christmas Day, they even surprised her with a Christmas gift. We were beyond grateful 🩷 From every photo and video, it was clear that Minnie was not just being looked after, but genuinely loved. Honestly, she definitely did not miss us 😂 We feel incredibly lucky and deeply grateful to have found Marianne. Minnie will absolutely be back the next time our schedules align, and we already know how excited she’ll be to see them again. Thank you, Marianne, for taking such wonderful care of our girl.”

“Susan was fantastic and took such good care of our little Cocoa. She took for him walks and outings and sent lots of pictures. I could tell he felt comfortable and loved!”

“Brittany was amazing with our dogs. They seemed to be so comfortable with her right away and she loved on them so well! She sent picture and video updates everyday that we were away. Would absolutely have Brittany watch our dogs again. Highly recommend.”

“We left our blind 18yo senior pup with Holli for 2 weeks. We were worried about leaving him for so long, but Holli took great care of him. Would definitely have her look after our boy again!”

About: I have been house sitting and pet sitting for the last 10 years. I have experience with dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments, from bulldogs to rottweilers, to cattle dogs, and shi-tzus. I also have two 7 year-old domestic short-haired kitties named Mr. Finn and Leonard! I also have several years of experience dealing with birds and reptiles, as well as small animals from working at two different pet stores. I cannot wait to meet your furry friend and treat them like my own! I am currently working part time so I am happy to spend as much time with your pet as I can! And am more than comfortable staying over! I am hoping to make this into full-time work, so that I can dedicate my life to doing something I love. My experience with different breeds, temperments, and ages/health concerns makes me more than qualified to handle anything your pet has to throw at me! I am comfortable with force-free training, providing medications, and crating animals. Even the grumpiest cat will not deter me. I am happy to meet them at their level, whether that's jumping and kissing or completely leaving them alone!
“This was the second time Rufus spent the weekend at Karyn’s and he had a great time once again! Karyn is very responsive by texts and provided a couple of updates which is always appreciated!”

Her and her family welcomed and provided great care for our Kuma, a 4-year old female Blue Heeler who had never spent one night away from family before. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Edmonton
We absolutely loved Woody's stay with Colton! He took such amazing care of him and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. Colton was incredibly attentive, sent us videos every single day, and always responded to our messages right away. It was clear that Woody was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. We couldn't be happier with the service and truly appreciate all the care and attention Colton gave him. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to look after their dog. We'll definitely be leaving Woody with Colton again in the future!

Aleena was wonderful with Olive. She kept me updated and when Olive refused to eat Aleena went out of the way to try different methods to get her to eat. lol. Her cats were sweethearts and tolerant of my cat too. I am very happy with my experience and look forward to book Aleena for future boarding too.

We booked Jean and Paloma after two Rover people had to cancel a few days before our trip - a family event, and the longest we have been away from Queenie, our anxious rescue chihuahua mix. Jean and Paloma are fantastic and knowledgeable animal carers. Other reviews described that they were able to manage a complicated medication schedule for their pets, and I believe it. They took the same care with our pup, though she was healthy, letting us know about how she was eating, her behavior, etc. Their rate is higher because they are professionals - and of course Queenie could tell that they love animals. My partner even stayed after picking her up to get training advice. If they're available the next time we need Queenie looked after, I would absolutely request them again. Thanks Jean and Paloma!

If you want a sitter who makes your pet feel like a King, and makes your pet so excited to go to their house he climbs into your arms to make sure you dont forget him in the morning, Ana is for you. I never worry about leaving my old mop of a dog with her. I can't say enough good things about her.

Thank you so much for the care you gave Picky Toes! And we really appreciate how flexible you were when we needed to extend his stay while our condo was being renovated. I know he was pretty shy - he's always hidden at home when strangers came in, but happy he ate the food you put out and finally spent some time sitting in the window hammock you put up for him.

We had an exceptional experience with Morgan on Rover! Willow was so happy and relaxed when I picked her up—it was clear she was well cared for and loved. I really appreciated the daily updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while we were away. Morgan went above and beyond to make sure Willow was comfortable and cared for like her own. Her dog Rosie is so sweet, and it was lovely knowing Willow had such a great companion during her stay. I would highly recommend Morgan to anyone looking for reliable, attentive care, and we will definitely be booking again for our next trip.

We dropped our dog Joey off for a weekend with Joelle and she had a great time! Joelle provided updates and pictures which we loved. When we picked Joey up she was pooped from a weekend of playing. We would be happy to leave Joey with Joelle again in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
