“I am beyond thrilled with the care Ella provides for my dog! Every time we arrive, my dog can hardly contain her excitement as her tail wags, she howls in excitement, and how eagerly she runs to greet Ella. It's such a comforting feeling knowing that she loves spending time with Ella, which speaks volumes about the level of care provided. Ella is great with dogs, and it shows in every interaction. She’s patient, attentive, and truly understands my dog's needs and quirks. She has extensive experience taking care of dogs, including her own pup, Ron! My dog has so much fun playing with Ron. Whether it's playtime in the yard, walks, or chilling on the couch, my dog always comes home happy, content, and to a good sleep. One of the things I appreciate most are the regular updates Ella sends. The photos and videos of my dog having fun and enjoying herself give me so much peace of mind while I'm away. It's clear that she's not just being looked after, but genuinely cared for and loved. Ella is also reliable and professional. She’s always punctual and is flexible with scheduling, which makes everything so much easier. If you're searching for someone who will treat your dog like their own and provide the highest level of care, I wholeheartedly recommend Ella!”

“I had Sarah-Beth take care of my two cats with in-home visits while I was away for 5 days. The photos, videos and text updates she provided reassured me that my boys were in good hands. I would highly recommend her for your pet care.”

“Madalynn was excellent. I have a very anxious, jumpy Great Dane that Madalynn met, and she was very calm about his frustration and anxiety. She worked with him using treats and was able to settle him. She never showed any fear at all! I will have her back again!”

About: I'm a cat foster with a local animal rescue, and have lived with pets almost all my life. I have experience with clicker and target training with both dogs and cats! My first clicker trainee was my cat, Oscar. With the rescue, I gained experience with diabetes treatment. I'm always happy to learn more about animal care. I have a fairly flexible schedule, which lends me the freedom to spend more time with your pet. As I currently have a foster cat, I am currently unable to offer boarding, and need to be at my home at least once a day to administer medications. I have good experience with pet needs such as feeding, crating, nail trimming, bathing, and minor medical attention such as giving medications and diabetes management. I regularly research animal behavior and training methods to help me be a more effective support. I'm flexible about visit times, locations, dog size, and pricing. I have some physical limitations and only use transit. Feel free to send me a message and we can discuss things further. I'm happy to discuss alternatives that would be suitable everyone.
“Miranda provided excellent care to my cat during daily drop ins for one week. My cat can be difficult to interact with and a little cranky, but Miranda made great progress according to her updates and photos. I hope she’s available next time I am out of town.”

“Was very easy to book with and when there was an issue with the booking they were quick to help me fix it. Great report and update on my pup. Followed instructions. Will book again in the future!”

About: I have volunteered at the Edmonton humane society for 5 years with cats and small animals. I have experience walking small and medium dogs for friends as well as owning a sheltie for 10 years. I am home full time and my availability is quite open. My kids may be with me and shower love and attention on your fur babies. I have a fenced backyard and many doors in the house to section off an area for supervision. I am willing to travel or transport pets with my own large vehicle. I am home full time with my 3 kids so your pet will get lots of attention from our full house. We love to be outdoors with your pet! We have a fenced backyard and live in a quiet neighbourhood. We have little traffic going by our house. It’s a great area for a stress free walk for your dog!
“Lori has taken care of my cat Noodles many times, she always sends me photos and I can tell my cat feels happy and safe. I would highly recommend her services for any of your pet care needs!”

About: I've taken care of pets ever since I can remember, all the way from dogs to lizards. I have always been passionate about pet care since I was a little girl because I believe animals are the most misunderstood gift that humans have been given. I understand that all animals require that we pay attention to their specific means of communication and needs. I am knowledgeable in gaining the trust of pets, advanced in hygiene maintenance, capable of medicinal administration, proficient in providing pets exercise and abiding by and understanding diet restrictions. I am fully available for pet care for all hours during the day, and am able to do overnight stays with pre arranged appointments. If a long multiple day stay is required I need time to go back to my home for 1 or 2 hours during the day to take care of my own pet. I care for pets in my client's home given that they provide clear instructions for how they want me to care for their pet and they make me aware of the supplies and resources their pet requires. If I am to do an in home appointment, I require a phone call and one in person meeting to get to know you and your pet.
“Ava was excellent! She was quick and easy to communicate with and she took great care of our boys while we were exploring Sicamous and the Wineries! Would love to have her again when we return for another vacation! Highly recommend.”

“Alina did a fantastic job looking after my kitties! She is incredibly kind, takes the time to get to know your pets, and truly cares about providing loving, attentive care while you’re away. I had complete peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. I will definitely be using her services again. Thank you, Alina! 😊”

“This was the first time I've left Bee all by herself and she was well loved and content when I returned. David sent me photos for every check-in and took time to play with her and talk to her. I highly recommend him; he put my mind at ease and I could enjoy my vacation.”

“Andrea is amazing, we love her and more importantly Bee loves her, she’s so polite, clean, caring, patient, and active with our pup! Lots of walks and snuggles. 11/10 awesome”

About: Hello, Pet Parents! 👋 I’ve spent my entire life surrounded by animals—from farm cats in my childhood to training our family puppy for agility competitions in my teens. Animals aren’t just a hobby for me; they are my passion. While in university, I dedicated my time to volunteering at the SPCA, helping rehabilitate and comfort large, fearful dogs. Today, my home is filled with love from our two cats—including my 17-year-old senior orange tabby, Naranjito—and our family dog. Why Choose Me? Through years of personal pet ownership and professional pet sitting (including dogs, cats, and birds), I have developed a comfort level with specialized medical care: Senior Care: Understanding the gentle pace and extra patience older pets need. Injectable Medications & Testing: Experienced with diabetic care, including blood tests and insulin injections. Special Needs & Emergency Calm: Capable of managing complex conditions like canine epilepsy and severe allergies, ensuring your pet is comforted and safe during vulnerable moments. Whether your furry family member needs an energetic walk, a cozy cuddle, or attentive medical monitoring, I treat every pet as if they were my own. I can’t wait to meet yours! I work as a part-time letter carrier, but I have mornings (until 12), almost all evenings, and most weekends available to care for your pet(s). I have been called "too trusting" in my past... but this has luckily never injured me in a serious way. In fact, the worst thing is realizing that my standard of trustworthiness is NOT universal... but that has made me more skeptical of others when it really matters. Caring for your pet is something that requires a lot of trust of me, and I appreciate your skepticism. I wouldn't leave my fur-babies with just anyone, too. Training dogs when I was younger made me much more aware of body language and different personalities. I am always watching for potential stressors or safety issues. I love giving dogs the freedom of an off-leash area, but would have to trust that they will listen to me before being comfortable with any safety risks involved with that.
“Hannah was very responsive and attentive during the sitting service. Hannah followed a lot of instructions well. Grooming my two medium-hairs daily was very important and I appreciated Hannah's willingness to take the time to do it. Hannah will spend the time needed to properly care for your animals and I would happily hire this sitter again.”

Heather is amazing! I’ve never left my cat alone before or had someone look after him other than family. Being new to the city and not knowing anyone meant I couldn’t really leave him alone. He is usually so shy around strangers, but he absolutely adored Heather!! She sent me updates and pictures the entire time. I’m so grateful as my request was a little last minute but she was so flexible. She followed my instructions perfectly. I’m so happy that I found her, I feel so much relief knowing there’s someone here I can trust to care for my cat the same way I do!

Saffy was quite well cared for while I was away. My plants were kept alive and I was informed about the storm we had plus photos!!! Everything was great. Plus I got photos of mail. Anick even checked my basement for flooding. Thank you for everything!!! You are a rock star!!!

Alina did a fantastic job looking after my kitties! She is incredibly kind, takes the time to get to know your pets, and truly cares about providing loving, attentive care while you’re away. I had complete peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. I will definitely be using her services again. Thank you, Alina! 😊

This was Kelly’s third time cat sitting for cat and she did a great job. My cat requires daily oral medication and she is far better at taking her medication with Kelly than wirh us. Kelly was able to accommodate a last minute scheduling change because we delayed our camping trip due to weather.

Jenna-Lee was fantastic. She was friendly, reliable, and it was clear how much she genuinely cares about animals. She provided detailed updates after each visit with my cat, which gave me great peace of mind, and she followed all instructions perfectly. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter and will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you, Jenna-Lee!

Kayla was great and very responsive! Lupita was very happy when we returned from our trip. Kayla had helpful suggestions while she was there and always made us feel at ease during her visits. Would totally recommend her to take care of your pet. And we would absolutely rely on her the next time.

Qi took care of our rabbit and cat for over 2 weeks. He did a great job following instructions and our pets became good friends with him. It’s not easy trusting someone with your pets and your home, but Qi made the whole experience feel easy and stress-free. This was our first time using a pet sitter, and it won't be the last time that we use Qi!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
