Pet care experience
because I love animals :)
For 2 years, I volunteered at Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society as a dog caregiver, learning through training and hands-on experience how to care for the especially vulnerable animals entrusted to our care. This included working with puppies and adult dogs, including some dogs that required more patience and care. However, most of my pet care experience comes from caring for my own small dog and various pets of family friends, especially their cats. I have always adored animals (often preferring them over humans... they're just easier to talk to, haha). I aim to be a gentle, calming presence for them. I love taking photos of the pets I care for and will be happy to provide photo updates! I am also more than willing to have a meet and greet beforehand to ensure I am a good fit for your pet. In addition to my previous training at the shelter, I have also taken the online Pet First Aid course offered by Canadian Red Cross because I am always seeking to add to my abilities to ensure the pets I care for are as safe and well-cared for as possible.

Andrea watched my medium sized dog over a long weekend in my home. She was great to communicate with - very prompt in responding, friendly and sent updates throughout the weekend with pics. Solo was happy, well cared for with frequent interaction and excercise from Andrea. My home was kept clean amd orderly. I recommend Andrea and will use again.
Our pets enjoyed having Andrea house sitting them. Blaze got well excerise daily with Andrea. Our cats gave cuddles which is positive to have with having a stranger staying at our house. Andrea is not a stranger after all! Will recommend Andrea to anyone!
Andrea was great. Responds extremely fast & took amazing care of my 2 cats :) she provided lots of photos and updates and I came home from my week vaca to two happy babies. Would recommend and will book again.

Schedule
I am currently a full time university student, so throughout the school year I will have a more limited schedule. However, I'm still happy to help when I can—mostly I will be available during weekends and holidays :)
