I have a variable schedule which means I am free during day times a lot! And sometimes am off for 2-6 days off in a row! I can make many things work on my days off that include boarding, walks and multiple drop-ins! And on the days I'm on shift, I can make a short morning and a longer evening drop in happen, which is ideal for cats to have one consistent person come in while you're away!

I do not have a fenced yard yet (working on it!), therefore any animal that goes outside with me will always be leashed. Which is why I prefer to drop in to other's homes as the dogs would be more free to run around in a safe area they know. I enjoy training tricks, and I usually use a verbal reward based system as treats can be a source of expectation the animals build. I also do not feed animals food or treats that haven't been approved by the owner(s)

The more information the better! I'm very adaptable and can manage almost all behaviors. I like to know if they are reactive to other dogs/kids/cars/etc so I can keep an extra eye, and hand on the leash for such occasions. I like to know your buzz words and motions for your dog to keep things consistent for them. I also like to know if your dog is a marker before they enter my house so I can make sure to have my cleaning supplies ready.
A typical day
If I'm boarding your furry family member, we do a minimum of 2 walks/day. There is a fenced pop-up dog park near me now and if the dog is good with socialization (and with your permission) we go there to get some well needed run time. I follow the feed schedule I'm given, give a cuddle here and there. And in between all that, we practice some obedience or tricks! I try to take lots of pictures, however sometimes if I need both hands to walk your dog well, you may not get the walking pictures.

Pet care experience
Since the age of 2 when I got my first kitten, I have been committed to learning for thorough care of all animals. I've helped friends and family care for cats, dogs, and more! I will always be learning different nutrition, bathing, stimulation and training techniques as over the years i have seen a plethora of different health requirements and anxieties (especially from adopted older pets). I also have experience with exotic animals and rodents. I have a sweet 17 year old chinchilla, and previous to that a hedgehog! I've also helped with snake care, fish/tank care and bearded dragons. However I'm willing to learn for any and all animals needs

My cat is very shy and he immediately warmed up to Mel. I felt at ease while on vacation knowing Mel was providing exceptional care. She gave regular updates and photos. I will absolutely rebook with Mel.
