About: Hi! I'm a lifelong animal lover with over 30 years of experience caring for both dogs and cats. Pets have always been an important part of my life, and I treat them like family members. I joined Rover because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and want to provide reliable, compassionate care when their owners can't be there. I have experience caring for pets of all ages, including senior pets, and I'm comfortable administering medications and following detailed care instructions. I also have experience with shy and anxious pets and understand the importance of patience, consistency, and earning an animal's trust. Every pet is unique, and I take the time to provide care that matches their individual personality and needs. As a mature, responsible professional, I understand how important trust and communication are. I'll treat your pet as if they were my own and keep you updated with messages and photos so you can feel confident they're happy, safe, and well cared for. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! Caring for animals has always been a part of my daily routine. I currently care for my own senior cat and understand the importance of consistency, reliability, and attention to detail when it comes to pet care. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to accommodate walks and drop-in visits throughout the week. When caring for a client's pet, I make it a priority to follow their routine as closely as possible and provide the attention, exercise, companionship, and care their pet needs. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so pet care is something I look forward to rather than simply another task on my schedule. I believe pets are happiest when their normal routine is maintained, so I take the time to learn each pet's individual needs and preferences. During drop-in visits, I'll ensure your pet has fresh food and water, potty breaks as needed, playtime, companionship, and plenty of affection. For cats, I'll also scoop litter boxes and keep their area clean and comfortable. For dogs, I'll provide safe, enjoyable walks tailored to their age, energy level, and abilities. Whether your dog enjoys a brisk walk or a slower-paced stroll with lots of sniffing and exploring, I'll make sure they get the exercise and attention they need. I treat every pet as if they were my own and will keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you're away.

“Sarah-Beth is fantastic and we will definitely seek out her services again. Our adult cat was in the middle of adjusting to the crazy kitten we had brought into our home and Sarah-Beth navigated it all perfectly. We especially appreciated the fun and reassuring photos and videos and we came home to happy cats.”

“Lynette came for an hour drop in with our puppy, while we were at work. She sent lots of updates and pictures! It was reassuring to know he was cared for and getting the attention he needed. Our pup is excited to have Lynette back!”

“Lisa was great, she sent updates every day, she is trustworthy and easy to communicate! Also flexible and kind when requested to add an extra day last minute and put Amazon packages inside the house!”

“Excellent care, meticulous attention to detail, naturally curious and interested, truly a great find. This is exactly what we seek in a pet sitter. Jaiden will be our preferred per sitter whenever we're away. If you're in Sherwood Park, I strongly recommend her.”

“I love getting all the daily feedback from Bonnie! She has been very accommodating to my schedule and I know Charlie is in good hands with her checking up on him !! I have hired her multiple times now and will continue to do so in the future.”

“Fern was very good to Willy our cat. He was content and happy to see us when we arrived home. She was also very willing to tend to a high maintenance plant in the home and went out of her way to ensure our garbage bin was delivered to the curb for pickup. I look forward to having Fern again and so does Willy!!”

“Jasmine was amazing! We felt so comfortable leaving our girls with her, she sent lots of photos and detailed updates and when we returned we could tell our pups were well looked after!”

“Korinna was very responsive and went over and above to make sure our cat was well taken care of while we were away. I would 100% recommend her for pet sitting! We will definitely use her again :)”

“Madeline was absolutely amazing, my girlfriend was a little hesitant to use rover with leaving our babies lives with a stranger. But wow, this experience was incredible! We are both so happy we went with Madeleine, the detailed notes and pictures gave us such relief knowing they were with her. So so SO grateful :) A plus all around! She was very communicative and helpful with attention to detail, and did everything right (we gave her SO much info to start 😅). Our kitties definitely have a new friend 💗”

“We had to book a sitter for our two cats on very short notice, and it usually fills me with anxiety because one of our cats is very territorial and does not like strangers. Catherine went above and beyond, recognized our grumpy cat's behavior, and was able to give her the space she needed while providing care for both cats. We received multiple updates with every drop-in, and my wife and I would watch some short and very sweet videos that were sent along with pictures during each visit. We were surprised to see how our grumpy old cat began tolerating Catherine's presence, but also began slowly warming up to her in her own way. I highly recommend Catherine for any pet-sitting needs. She truly loves animals, no matter if they are cats or dogs, and will treat them the way they wanted to be treated, even if it means giving them a little space at first.”

“It was my first time booking with Alyssa and I’d definitely book again. Great communication, gave oral meds, and made sure to do all my cat’s favourite things. Shows a true love for animals.”

“Samana was so amazing with my 4 babies! She made me feel so reassured and sent me lots of photos and updates through her visit. If I were to leave my cats alone I’d always rebook with her, she’s also such a ray of sunshine!! If I could give her more than 5 stars I would!”

It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
