“Robin was a great cat sitter and took good care of our boys. She was in touch all throughout our trip, making us enjoy our vacation knowing our cats were well taken care of. We came back home to a clean house and happy cats. We would use her again.”

“Andrea is such a wonderful pet sitter! She took the time to meet our pup beforehand, and was so calm and patient as our anxious and shy pup became comfortable with her. While pet-sitting, she sent us updates with lots of pictures and we could tell that our pup adored her! We would absolutely recommend Andrea!”

“Very happy with the care that Keira took of my two boys while I was away. Returned to happy pets and a clean house! I can rest easy knowing that they are in great hands when I can't be there.”

“Very prompt, reliable, and responsive! Sent plenty of updates and took care of any issues when we were away. Adrianna and Jack went above and beyond to take care of things like shovelling our walkway and offering to wash bedding when they were done, and our kitties were clearly very well cared-for.”

“Catherine was great. Our 2 dogs and cat loved her. She was very communicative and sent tons of pictures, which our daughter loved. Definitely will book her again.”

“Zoe took great care of our Jasper and our home. She graciously got his pills into him even when he was a grump and she sent lots of updates and pictures to keep us in the loop while we were away.”

“Czabrina is amazing! She has watched our senior dog twice now and we already have her booked for a third. She’s very easy to communicate with, with fast responses. We come home to a clean house, a happy dog and she is easy going when plans change. We highly recommend her.”

“Kianna is awesome! She did a great job looking after our fur baby. Communication and daily update photos were great and gave us peace of mind while that our little dude was well cared for while we were away.”

“Fern looked after our house and three kitties, two of which require medications twice a day, and we couldn't be happier! We got regular updates and pictures so that we could feel confident the kitties were being well looked after, and we returned home to a spotless house. We are very grateful to have found someone who is so good with the cats. We have no worries about being away when we know Fern is looking after them.”

“This is the second time I’ve booked Alyssa to take care of my four animals and again she was amazing! Two of my cats are on medications and she eased my anxiety about leaving them. I’m so happy I have a reliable pet sitter now that goes above and beyond the standard pet care !! :)”

About: I've had dogs and cats most of my life until the last few years. I can provide care as needed by you and your pets. I'm flexible with availability. I can work around different schedules, in many instances, to allow for different care needs for feeding or walks, or play. I treat them as my own, feeding, playing, or just giving attention based on the needs of you, or your pets, while you are away.
About: I have 4 years of dog daycare and boarding in a commercial setting with an additional 4 years of house/farm sitting for clients with both dogs and cats. I have experience and love dogs of all sizes from Chihuahuas to Great Danes as well as experience with cats of all temperaments. I am also comfortable and have experience feeding and handling any other critters you have such as fish or reptiles. At the moment I am giving all of my attention to pet care and house sitting so my schedule is completely open for the spring/summer season. Upon accepting a house sitting, drop-in, or walk request I will schedule a meet & greet where I can meet you and your pets and go over any additional information. This includes safety issues within your home or on the walk route, crating options, allergies, or any other little quirks your pets may have. Pets are part of the family and keeping them safe and happy is my #1 priority.
About: I’ve taken care of pets and have had many of my own ever since I was 3! I’ve always loved working with animals and giving them the best life possible. Through my years of hands-on experience, I’ve gained the knowledge and understanding of caring for different animals with a wide range of needs. You can be assured your furry family member will be offered lots of play time, affection and care, just like they are my own! I am currently work Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 8-4:30, but while I’m not at work I am always doing something with my dogs or cats! My favourite time of the day is when I get to take them for a walk, or simply play with toys in the yard. Seeing any animal happy and content is what brings me joy! I have 3 dogs and 3 cats of my own who love other animals! We also have a fenced yard. If your pet doesn’t like to socialize with others, I can ensure they are separated with no issues!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sherwood Park
Aidan was prompt at replying to our initial request and scheduling a meet up. She was personal and attentive to all instructions. She was in frequent communication throughout her time looking after Zuma and handled all duties like a pro. Can’t wait to have her watch our dog again and would recommend to others!

Ashton was phenomenal!! She stayed with our very anxious dog in our home for 10 days while we were out of the country. I was nervous about leaving him, but as soon as I met her, all of my worries faded away. Right away it was clear how much she loves dogs and was willing to do anything and everything to make our dog feel safe and comfortable. Ashton is very kind, caring, patient, responsible and was incredible with communication and updates both with our home and how our dog was doing. She even went above and beyond shoveling snow, doing an errand for me and getting our dog pup cups to try and win him over. When we came home from vacation, our place was spotless and our dog excited to see us. I felt completely relaxed in another country while Ashton was taking care of our home and our dog. I will definitely be hiring her again in the future and highly recommend her!

We’d never thought to use a pet sitting service before, but after meeting Cara twice before she came to house sit/pet sit we felt very comfortable having her come into our home to take care of our most precious babies. Cara sent us pictures daily which was always the highlight of our day. She took our golden retriever for walks at the off leash park which is one of his favourite things to do. I could tell my ragdoll kitten was brushed daily which was also important to me to keep her fur mat free. When we got home our house was absolutely immaculate, Cara went above any of our expectations and we are so grateful for the care she gave our pets and our home. When we go away again I really hope that Cara will be available to watch Tucker and Ginny because she has set the bar very high.

Jaden watched my dog and my sister in law’s dog at my house on two separate days while we were away from home for wedding events. We were so impressed with her attention to detail and thorough care of the dogs. She is very responsive by message and her passion for animals really shows in her great attitude in her update messages. She was very reliable and punctual! Both dogs loved their time with her. We can’t recommend her enough to anyone looking for dog sitting services! Thank you Jaden!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sherwood Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sherwood Park walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sherwood Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
