About: The dogs that I pet sit slowly but surely become apart of my family and my camera roll. I’m happy to dog sit in their because I know how stressful it can be for their humans to be on vacation, my hope is to always give them a level of comfort by still being in their home. I work Monday-Friday from 9am to 3pm. Which gives me plenty of time to wake up with your pups, feed them and go on a morning walk before I head out for work! Weekends are flexible. I would love to meet your fur babies before committing to anything! I believe in making sure I am compatible with them and you as dog parents. I’m very routine driven, so I would love to know what your dog’s day to day looks like. Love taking pictures of any and all dogs so you will likely get picture updates texted to you, to reassure you that your pups are having a great staycation :)

Amanda stayed in our home with our two dogs for a week. She was wonderful to work with and was amazing with our dogs. Our dog Shelby, had a small wound to deal with and had to have a cone on while Amanda was out. Amanda gave them both all the love and care they needed and then some. We will definitely be booking her again. Thanks Amanda 😃

About: I have plenty of experience housesitting for friends and looking after my own doggies. I love gardening and endeavour to keep plants happy. I like keeping my environment clean and tidy, and am more than happy to run any errands that are required in the owner's absence (e.g. scheduled grooming for pets, routine checkups, putting bins out etc.). I have volunteered with DRU (local animal shelter) in the past as part of the bird and chicken team - poultry are full on! This gave me more experience in administering medication (to peacocks!), cleaning animals and identifying any issues, and cleaning out pens and enclosures. I’m currently based in Calgary - I am available for morning and afternoon check ins and walks on weekdays and weekends, as I work remotely on weekdays between 8pm and midnight. I try to make sure pets keep to their routines! Having their families go away is stressful enough. I like to have a fair amount of info on your pets behaviours, routines, and things they like to do so they can be as comfortable as can be in your absence.

About: I have taken care of dogs from big to small ever since I was a kid. We’ve always had pets out in the country until I have moved to the city. Looking to spend time and caring for your fur ball when you’re away. I’m currently working from home fulltime. I am looking to incorporating daily walks in the evenings or weekends during the summer and can offer housing sitting as well, if you need a house sit and feed/walk/play with your pet. I can easily crate your dogs and care for them while you’re away. I can feed them, walk them and take them out for bathroom breaks when needed.

Cassidy did a great job house sitting for us. Her knowledge and experience helped ease our concerns while away. She went above expected duties in cleaning up after some illness from one of our cats and administered meds as needed. She is punctual and communicative and follows directions well. We would look to have her house sit again at a future date.

Finally, after a very long travel day, we were so pleased to arrive back to a happy dog, and a neat, tidy, and clean home. About: I’ve always been the person who says hi to the pets before the people. I have experience caring for both dogs and cats, and I genuinely love getting to know each animal’s personality. I have two reactive dogs, so I understand patience, body language, and meeting pets where they’re at—whether that’s a confident adventure buddy or a more cautious, slow-to-warm-up friend. I’m also very comfortable with cats and their very specific opinions on everything. My goal is simple: keep your pets safe, happy, and cared for! I have reduced hours at work during the summer so I have plenty of time of extra time to fill with your dogs! I can do over nights, afternoon walks and weekend care! I provide care in my client’s home so pets can stay in their familiar environment and keep their normal routine. I follow their usual feeding, walk, play, and medication schedules as closely as possible to help reduce stress while their owners are away. I have experience with reactive dogs, so I’m comfortable reading body language, managing triggers, and using patience and calm handling to keep pets feeling safe. I take things at each pet’s pace, whether they’re energetic, shy, or need a little extra space. I’m also very comfortable caring for cats and understand the importance of letting them come to me on their terms. I’m happy to provide regular updates with photos and notes so you always know how your pet is doing.

The median cost per night for house sitting in Tamarack is $50

Jasmine was fantastic. She is so easy going and made me feel at ease trusting her in my home with my animals. She wasn’t bothered at all that my house is undergoing renovations which was also such a relief as the environment isn’t super “homey” at the moment. My dog Woody is at the senior stage of his life and although he is very gentle he requires some extra care and can be prone to incontinence. Jasmine was very sensitive to his needs and ensured he was given appropriate care. I am very thankful for her help and look forward to having her back again! Highly recommend her to all pet owners :)

I have never felt more at ease leaving my dog with someone. Kelcy was so professional and kept us very up to date while we were away. Our boy seemed extremely happy and well taken care of. Every picture he had a huge smile on his face. She was able to also provide some extra attention and dietary needs when it came to dealing with a big dog with arthritis. We can't wait for her to stay again and watch him. Feels good to know he is in very good hands when we aren't around.

FAQs for House Sitting - Tamarack

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Tamarack on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 627 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tamarack. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tamarack maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tamarack walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tamarack choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
