“Adesola was absolutely amazing with Kolbi! From the moment I dropped Kolbi off, I felt completely at ease knowing they were in such caring and capable hands. Adesola kept me updated with sweet messages and photos, which truly meant the world to me and made my time away so much less stressful. Kolbi came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved — it was obvious he received so much attention, playtime, and affection. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be booking with Adesola again in the future. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate sitter! 🐾”

“Terry is amazing! As high anxiety dog parents he really made us feel comfortable. He makes sure to ask everything we didn't think of and keeps up in the loop throughout the stay. I am recommending Terry to everyone I know. I cannot say enough good things. Thank you Terry!”

“Michelle and family welcomed Winston and took such amazing care of them! I really appreciated their attention to detail and their updates throughout Winston’s time there. We are so grateful they were able to have Winston over for the weekend and will definitely request to book with them again in the future.”

“Trish is an excellent dog sitter. It’s clear from the moment you meet her that she absolutely adores animals and will treat your fur babies like her own. Our dogs immediately took a liking to her and always seem to be having a great time when she sends us photos and videos. As pet parents who find it very difficult to leave our dogs, Trish has been a godsend!”

“Ana R. Was amazing & very friendly with our puppy Bailey! We had never left our 5 month old puppy before, Ana was very reassuring from the point of booking until Bailey was picked up he was in excellent hands! He was cuddled & loved, spend lots of time outside & at parks.... Ana sent many photos of Bailey eating, playing, sleeping & outside to reassure us he was being well taken care of! I would highly recommend Ana!”

“Our Jeeya has a home away from home with Nicholas and Darling!! They both take excellent care of our precious pup! She is their family when she is with them! Thank you for taking such good care of Jeeya!”

“Leaving my fur baby is never easy, but Renee made it completely stress-free. From the first moment, my pup Susie lit up around her, and I knew she were in loving hands. Renee was able to take Susie on daily walks, administer her medication, brush her teeth and going above and beyond to make sure that Susie was getting the best care possible! Every update and photo showed not just care, but genuine joy and connection. I came home to a happy, calm pet who clearly felt safe and adored. I can’t imagine trusting anyone else — Renee is a gift to both pets and their people. 🐾❤️”

“"Jenna was fantastic! She treated my Miley as if she were her own. As this was my first time using Rover, I had no worries leaving Miley with her. Jenna kept us updated with pictures and videos, and when I picked Miley up, she was happily exhausted from playing with Jenna’s dog the entire time. I’ll definitely be booking with Jenna again!”

“Casey and his wife are unreal. I left my 13 year old frenchie in their hands for almost 3 weeks while I was on vacation in Japan. They took such great care of him! He even seems to have better mobility now and appears much happier! Thank you Casey!!!!”

“This was our first time using Rover, and we could not be happier! Chelsea was absolutely wonderful. She kept us updated all day with adorable pictures of our dog, which gave us total peace of mind. She took our pup for several walks and showed genuine love and affection the entire time. It is clear she truly cares about animals. We will definitely be booking with her again and recommend to our friends / anyone looking for a dog sitter!"”

“We are so grateful for Sonja and her family taking our pups into their home. Sonja made it super easy to feel like they would be well cared for and would be loved as we would at home — that allowed us to relax in our time away. Our pups had so much fun with them, especially the kids! Huge thanks to Sonja and family! We recommend them wholeheartedly. ?”

“Nicole and her family watched Hank for 3 days while my wife and I were out of town. Hank can be dog reactive so previously we had had to settle for a kennel because it was hard to find a sitter who did not already have a dog of their own. Upon hearing that, Nicole was kind enough to block off the weekend for Hank alone. I cannot tell you how much it meant to know he was spending the weekend in a warm home with a substitute family. From the pictures and videos Nicole sent, he was happy, comfortable, well fed and well loved. Nicole and her husband have a son who was also great with Hank and in addition to feeding him, I heard Hank slept on his bed the first night. We would have Hank stay with Nicole and her family again in a heartbeat, and would encourage anyone else to do the same. 5 stars.”

“Vanessa and her family took great care of our dog! Updated us with pictures and was always available for me to reach her. She helped us out on short notice and our dog was so happy. When I arrived to their house he was excited to see me, but when we went to go to the car, he ran back into their home. So he must have had a great time! If you need a dog sitter, I recommend Vanessa.”

“Jeremy and his wife took great care of my pup when we needed him last minute. They sent lots of updates with pictures and videos and because she’s a very high energy dog, they kept her busy the whole time.”

“Ronilyn was awesome in interacting and caring for our dog! We received regular updates with pictures and when our dog came home he was happy with zero evidence of stress!”

“Thank you Brittany and Kev for taking care of our senior diabetic girl! We all were worried how our Misha will cope with being separated from us for a couple of days. But everything was good and we’re so grateful for that ! Brittany also were sending us lots of photos and videos . It calmed my worries. And a special thank you for the insulin injections, we know it's not always easy.”

“Belinda and Brent did an amazing job of looking after Charlie! They provided lots of pictures while I was away! I have an English bulldog and he can be a little high maintenance sometimes but they took care of him great! I would definitely recommend them and would use them again in the future!!!”

“Katelyn and her family were so accommodating and the perfect choice to take care of our puppy! They even let him stay a little longer when my plans changed and I really appreciated knowing he was in such good hands! Would definitely book again! Thank you Katelyn ?”

Korinna was amazing! My dog had a lot of fun staying with her this weekend. She took her for walks to the park and she sent me pictures and videos everyday. She made sure that I was updated all the time. I definitely recommend her and I would rebook with her next time.

Stacey and her family were amazing! We felt so at ease leaving Sputten with them for the week. What we loved most was the daily updates and photos. They brought so much joy and comfort as we watched him playing with other dogs and cuddling up. Knowing he was happy and safe allowed us to enjoy our vacation. We were super impressed with Stacey’s ability to replace Sputten’s eye drops when the container got damaged and thought she went above and beyond washing his bed upon our return. We will definitely be booking with Stacey again in the future!

Sydney was amazing with our Enzo! We left for 11 days and he looked like he was so relaxed. He was showing his belly, cuddling with her and honestly we weren't sure he wanted to come back home after haha. Thank you Sydney for being so good to our baby! Also really appreciated the photos everyday and recap of how he was during the day. We would recommend Sydney to anyone who is anxious about leaving their dog. She also walks our friends dog and is always punctual and communicative with them. Can't say enough good things about Sydney!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
