“We recently had Yvonne care for our dog, Happy, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the start, Yvonne made Happy feel comfortable and at ease. She shared daily photos and videos, which gave us such peace of mind—we could clearly see how well she was caring for him. Yvonne made sure Happy had regular walks, plenty of attention, and always kept his safety a priority. She was able to change her work schedule and worked from home and this meant Happy was never stressed about being left alone, which made a big difference in his comfort and happiness. She was attentive, easy to talk to, and really listened to the details we shared about Happy’s routine and needs. She handled everything with ease and kept us updated, so we always felt reassured that Happy was in great hands. We are so grateful for the loving care she gave Happy and would absolutely trust her to look after him again in the future.”

“Sam had a great time with Murray & Paddi! He seemes to really enjoy playing in their backyard with the other dogs! Murray and Paddi are great with dogs, and super accommodating! 100% would recommend!”

“I can’t recommend Heather highly enough! She took exceptional care of our dog while we were away. My dog was happy and healthy when I returned, and it was clear he had received plenty of love and attention. Heather's reliable, trustworthy, and truly has a way with animals. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in such good hands. If you’re looking for a pet sitter who will treat your pets like their own, look no further.”

“Renee was absolutely fantastic and took great care of our French bulldog. She sent updates and pictures through the stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place that actually enjoys taking care of your pet!! Thank you Renee!”

“Michelle and her family are wonderful! Our dog Millie settled in quickly and had the best week. We would recommend her to anyone, and look forward to a future booking! 🐾”

“Terry is amazing! As high anxiety dog parents he really made us feel comfortable. He makes sure to ask everything we didn't think of and keeps up in the loop throughout the stay. I am recommending Terry to everyone I know. I cannot say enough good things. Thank you Terry!”

“This was our first time using Rover, and we could not be happier! Chelsea was absolutely wonderful. She kept us updated all day with adorable pictures of our dog, which gave us total peace of mind. She took our pup for several walks and showed genuine love and affection the entire time. It is clear she truly cares about animals. We will definitely be booking with her again and recommend to our friends / anyone looking for a dog sitter!"”

“Left our 3 month old golden retriever pup with Nicole and family. It was the first time we’d left her with anyone and she’s an energetic and curious pup so we were quite nervous to leave her. Not only was she well cared for, she made some new best friends and had the best weekend. We will be back! Thanks Nicole and family.”

“What an attentive sitter! Regularly sent photos and videos (updates) on how my dog was doing. Very prompt (on time) with pick-ups and drop-offs. I really appreciate the extra care they gave to my dog, as it was her first overnight with a sitter and she was nervous. They also came to me for the meet—and-greet, which I was very grateful for (as I don’t drive). I’ll definitely be asking them for puppy sleepovers again in the future.”

“Katelyn and her family made my little guy feel right at home, communication was great, she sent photos abd provided updates if I needed. I would definitely rebook another time. 😊”

“I had a d family emergency and needed to fins care for my babies very last minute, and Ronilyn saved me. She watched all of my babies and was kind enough to be flexible with the deop-off and pickup times. I was already in a very stressful situation so her flexible was even more appreciated. My dogs had a wonderful time! She was also very organized when it came to making sure I had everything that belonged to my dogs. If I was not broke (I'm sorry), I would tip her substantially. I feel terrible that I can't atm.”

“I loved the daily updates and pics. It was our first time using Rover and was a terrific experience. We were very impressed and will use again!”

“Casey treated our dog, Mischa, like part of his family. We got daily updates and pictures, as well as quick responses when we checked in. She seemed very happy with her stay and we were too.”

“Trish is an excellent dog sitter. It’s clear from the moment you meet her that she absolutely adores animals and will treat your fur babies like her own. Our dogs immediately took a liking to her and always seem to be having a great time when she sends us photos and videos. As pet parents who find it very difficult to leave our dogs, Trish has been a godsend!”

“Sonja kept me updated daily with photos and sent some great shots of what Ruby was doing. Ruby obviously loved being with Sonja and her family. Not only did I have a holiday, but Ruby got one too. I am sure she will miss them and I won’t hesitate to book again. Already thinking about a shorter trip later in the fall! Thanks so much Sonja.”

“Was so happy to find her on here , she was a wonderful caring woman who treated our baby like her own . Was provided lots of daily photos and updates . Would recommend her !”

Korinna was amazing! My dog had a lot of fun staying with her this weekend. She took her for walks to the park and she sent me pictures and videos everyday. She made sure that I was updated all the time. I definitely recommend her and I would rebook with her next time.

Stacey and her family were amazing! We felt so at ease leaving Sputten with them for the week. What we loved most was the daily updates and photos. They brought so much joy and comfort as we watched him playing with other dogs and cuddling up. Knowing he was happy and safe allowed us to enjoy our vacation. We were super impressed with Stacey’s ability to replace Sputten’s eye drops when the container got damaged and thought she went above and beyond washing his bed upon our return. We will definitely be booking with Stacey again in the future!

Sydney was amazing with our Enzo! We left for 11 days and he looked like he was so relaxed. He was showing his belly, cuddling with her and honestly we weren't sure he wanted to come back home after haha. Thank you Sydney for being so good to our baby! Also really appreciated the photos everyday and recap of how he was during the day. We would recommend Sydney to anyone who is anxious about leaving their dog. She also walks our friends dog and is always punctual and communicative with them. Can't say enough good things about Sydney!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
