“Gordon and Nina have a beautiful home and yard they welcomed my dog Nyx into. She settled in quick for her weekend away. Seemed to have been well cared for with lots of play time. Provided me with nightly videos of Nyx. Would send Nyx to them again.”

“First time using rover and I'm glad we used Jennifer. Our pup was so well taken care of. And appreciated the regular pics and updates. My first choice for future services”

“Our dogs were in great hands and were very happy with Ashley! She communicated and sent photos. When I picked them up everything was organized and clean, both pups were well groomed. Thank you”

“Alexander was great with Maisy. It was her first time away from me and he had her for 5 days. Alex took her to the dog park or for nice walks even though it was raining a lot on those days. She really enjoyed playing with his beagle Macy. Would definitely use again and highly recommend. Thanks very much Alexander!!”

“Our dog Emma had the best time with Jinny. Jinny was great at keeping us up to date on how Emma was doing. I definitely recommend Jinny and we'll be using her services again.”

“We can’t thank Karen and Daniel enough for taking such amazing care of Simba over the holidays. Our dog can be quite anxious, but they went above and beyond to make sure he felt safe, comfortable, and loved while we were away. From frequent updates to their patient and caring approach, it was clear they treated Simba like one of their own. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely understands and loves dogs, Karen and Daniel are absolutely incredible. Highly recommend them to anyone seeking responsible, compassionate pet care! We will definitely be booking Karen and Daniel again in the future!”

“Penny had a great time with Andrea and Bernal. Everything was smooth with drop up and pick up on our end and we got photo updates, which was wonderful! We’ll definitely see if they can watch Penny again :)”

“Joelle & Bryden were so amazing with my pup, Humphrey! This was our first time leaving him with “strangers” and after our meet and greet we felt so at ease. They provided the cutest updates and went above and beyond in so many ways. I feel so glad to have a pet sitter that we really feel safe with, and will definitely be using their services again in the future!”

“Casey did an exceptional job taking care of Kiro. He would keep us updated daily with pictures and Kiro was definitely spoiled. I would highly recommend Casey if u need a sitter. Will definitely come back. Thank you Casey and Shauna!”

“Vanessa was very accommodating with our last minute booking. She sent lots of updates and it was very obvious that she cared about our dog and made every effort to make her feel comfortable. Thank you!”

“Amazing sitter! My dog was so happy the entire time at her place. She always sent photos and kept us updated of everything that’s happening with our pet. Exceptional care!! Would highly recommend her!”

“Robyn and her family are so welcoming and kind to my senior dog. He receives great care, with appropriate communication and pictures to make leaving my pet behind much less stressful.”

“Sherrie and her family were amazing with our pups. We could sense how comfortable our pups were with them and it was evident how well cared for and loved our pups were, while in their care. During pickup, after their initial excitement of seeing us, our younger pup tried to follow Sherrie back into her home as she went in to get their bag. This is a glowing endorsement for us as he normally sticks to is like glue! Sherrie also provided daily text and/or photo updates which put our minds at ease. This was our first Rover booking and we were unsure of what to expect, but seeing our pups looking so relaxed and happy confirmed that we had found a perfect home/pet sitting family for our pups. We have already booked our second stay with Sherrie and we hope that we she will always be available when we need to book a stay on Rover.”

About: I’ve taken care of my friends’ cats and dogs many times whenever they travelled or went on vacation. I’ve cared for pets in their own homes and have also welcomed them into my home so I could give them the care and attention they need. I’m comfortable with their daily routines, including feeding, refreshing their water, playing with them, giving them lots of attention, taking dogs for walks, giving oral medication and cleaning their eyes when needed. What sets me apart is that I genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality and making them feel comfortable. I’m patient with shy, nervous, or energetic pets and always pay attention to their individual needs and behaviours. My goal is for every cat and dog to feel safe, relaxed, happy, and loved while their owners are away. I work a hybrid schedule, so I work from home most of the week, which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for pets throughout the day. My regular work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and I work as a scheduler in home health care. Since I’m usually at home, I’m able to provide companionship, feeding, playtime, and attention throughout the day, as well as keep an eye on the pet and make sure they’re comfortable. I love it because they also keep me company! I can also adjust my routine when needed to follow each pet's usual schedule and care instructions. I live in a spacious apartment that provides a comfortable and safe environment for cats and dogs. I’m very careful about keeping doors closed and preventing any opportunities for a pet to accidentally escape. My windows have secure screens, so they can be opened for fresh air while keeping the space safe. I also keep closets and other enclosed spaces closed at all times to prevent pets, especially cats, from getting accidentally trapped or hiding somewhere unnoticed. I'm more than happy to provide pictures of my apartment or schedule a video call if you'd like.
“Adesola was absolutely amazing with Kolbi! From the moment I dropped Kolbi off, I felt completely at ease knowing they were in such caring and capable hands. Adesola kept me updated with sweet messages and photos, which truly meant the world to me and made my time away so much less stressful. Kolbi came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved — it was obvious he received so much attention, playtime, and affection. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be booking with Adesola again in the future. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate sitter! 🐾”

“Thank you SOOO much Wendy Ashley and Christine for taking exceptional care of Belle. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for her. The photos and texts let us feel connected with Belle while we were away. Thank you again. We look forward to having Belle stay with you again.”

“Ella did a wonderful job looking after Marshall for a week. I received constant photo and video updates. Marshall had tons of fun playing with Ella and her dog Ron. He seemed very happy and comfortable in her home.”

“Chelsea is amazing with our little pom Coco. We get multiple updates a day about his feeding, walk, sleeping and play schedule. He is always delighted to see Chelsea when we drop him off. She is such a good dog auntie.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wild Rose
Rhonda has helped out with my dog Luna on several occasions! Day time day care services to a week long boarding service. And every time Rhonda has been excellent and each time Luna has come home happy and healthy. Her other dogs in the house are friendly and have had no issues getting along with my dog. Rhonda has also helped out in other ways such as walking my dog and by dropping my dog off at other locations to help out in transfer of care. It's such a relief to know my dog is in good hands while I'm away on a trip or working a longer shift at work. I would definitely recommend her to anyone else needing these above services. Thanks for everything Rhonda!

Heather and her family were so wonderful to work with. They kept us in the loop with how our puppy was doing throughout our trip. They even returned her back to us nice and played out (which is not an easy task). We really appreciate you caring for our baby. Thank you so much!

My cats had a wonderful stay with Nichole. This was the longest that I had ever left my girls, and Nichole was wonderful about sending pictures and little anecdotes every couple of day. I could see that they were doing well, and being well cared for. Thank you Nichole.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
