“She did amazing housing our 2 dogs. They loved her. She was very clear with communication and sent us pictures everyday. Would highly recommend her. Will definitely use her services again.”

“It was my first time using Rover to board my dog Lily. I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of booking and subsequently the care Lily was given during her stay with Diane. Diane sent me updates and pictures on Lily's daily activities. Lily came home a happy girl, and I was happy too. I will definitely book with Diane again.”

“I am so grateful that I found Blaine and Kendra! I left Wapi for a second time with them while our family travelled to a location I wasn't comfortable taking Wapi with us (we were in a remote area where the vet services weren't what Wapi would need if he had a medical emergency). I felt so relieved to be leaving him in such good hands. I loved all the photos they sent me, and once again, Wapi didn't even seem that eager to leave and come home with me. I 100% would use their services again, and I highly recommend them!!”

“A wonderful experience booking with Virginia. We needed last minute care for our two dogs while we went out of town for ~48 hours. She was quick to respond and very accommodating. Would definitely book with Virginia again and highly recommend!”

“Thank you SOOO much Wendy Ashley and Christine for taking exceptional care of Belle. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for her. The photos and texts let us feel connected with Belle while we were away. Thank you again. We look forward to having Belle stay with you again.”

“Nicole took really good care of our mini Aussie. He seemed to gel right away with her dogs and with her. We got regular updates that allowed us to enjoy our time away without worry. Thanks so much Nicole.”

“This was Rafiki’s second stay with Nicole, and once again, it was absolutely wonderful! Knowing he’s with someone who truly cares makes all the difference. Nicole treats Rafiki like one of her own — with so much love, patience, and attention. We got thoughtful updates and could tell he was relaxed, happy, and in great hands the entire time. He came home his usual goofy, cuddly self — maybe even a little more spoiled than before! Thank you, Nicole, for creating such a warm and safe space for our boy. We’re so grateful to have someone we trust wholeheartedly. Rafiki will definitely be back! 🐾❤️”

“Our sitter Jodie was wonderful! We couldn't have had a better experience. She has such a bubbly, kind and caring way about her. Our dogs took to her quickly and the pictures she shared only confirmed what we already knew....they were so loved and had lots of fun! We will see you again Jodie!”

“We can’t thank Karen and Daniel enough for taking such amazing care of Simba over the holidays. Our dog can be quite anxious, but they went above and beyond to make sure he felt safe, comfortable, and loved while we were away. From frequent updates to their patient and caring approach, it was clear they treated Simba like one of their own. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely understands and loves dogs, Karen and Daniel are absolutely incredible. Highly recommend them to anyone seeking responsible, compassionate pet care! We will definitely be booking Karen and Daniel again in the future!”

“Ana was amazing! We left Rocket for a couple of days and she sent me updates about him, she is very nice and I will highly recommend her and use her services again”

“Sarah is a fantastic sitter for our dog, Teddy. She learnt how to provide injections for our dog and was enthusiastically accommodating. Sarah truly cares about pets and provides the best care. We went on a 2 1/2 week vacations and Sarah was providing updates and images of Teddy. We had peace of mind knowing Teddy was in good hands while away. We will definitely board Teddy with Sarah again. Thank you Sarah!”

“Andrea was so great with my Clover! She sent me pictures and updates all the time and is clearly a true animal lover. I can always tell how Clovers experience was somewhere based on how stressed she is on the day of pick up. She seemed only minimally stressed (normal) and was very playful. I would definitely bring Clover back for another stay.”

“I was nervous at first coz my baby never stayed in other people’s house. But Pamela was great. She care and understood my baby situation 😊She gave me pictures when I asked and told me that my cat is alright.”

“Our dogs had a wonderful stay! This was their first time being left with someone outside of our home, and we were a bit nervous, but she made the whole experience so reassuring. She communicated well throughout, was very attentive, and clearly understands dog behaviour. When we picked them up, we could tell from their happy energy and the way they interacted with her that they had felt safe, comfortable, and had so much fun. We could see how much they bonded with her and Luca, made us so happy to see them enjoy their time away from home. We’re very grateful and would absolutely recommend her! Thank you Natasha and Luca!!”

Melissa has been great and accommodating, even came to help us out by picking our dog up from us when we on our to the booking and got stranded on the highway when the RV blew a tire. Melissa and her son are both great with dogs and communicate well if there are any issues. She takes the dogs to the off leash park regularly for lots of exercise and to tire them out.

Carrie was absolutely amazing taking care of our 4 almost 5 year old dog. We had a meet and greet as this was our first time leaving our dog anywhere and found Carrie to be very friendly and could tell right away how she loved animals and that our dog would be in good hands. While we weren’t too worried about the care she would give after meeting her and how her home is very inviting to the pets, she sent us regular photos to reassure us that things were going well and therefore had no worries while on vacation. We would 100% recommend Carrie to take care of your pet and will definitely be in contact the next time we need to leave our dog. Thank you Carrie!

Damara and Tye were awesome! They sent lots of pictures and updates of Winston and he seemed to love having some friends there to play with especially their one dog, Vada, who Winston became instant best friends with! They were very accommodating of all Winston's needs as well.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
