Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in my client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I follow all instructions closely—from feeding schedules to walk routines—and make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship during each visit. I’m respectful of your home, keep things clean and tidy, and always ensure your pet’s safety and comfort come first.
Information Mikaila H. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for any pet, I like to gather as much information as possible to ensure I’m providing the best and safest care. Every pet is unique, and understanding their needs helps me create a positive experience for both of us. Some important things I like to know include: • Feeding schedules, portion sizes, and any dietary restrictions or allergies • Energy levels and exercise needs (e.g., high-energy vs. more relaxed pets) • Behavioural traits (such as anxiety, reactivity, or triggers to avoid) • Comfort levels with new people, other animals, or certain environments • Any medical needs, medications, or special care instructions • Preferred routines, commands, or training cues you use at home I also love learning about what your pet enjoys most—favourite toys, walking routes, or cuddle preferences—so I can make our time together as enjoyable and familiar as possible. Clear communication is really important to me, and I’m always happy to provide updates, photos, and check-ins so you feel confident and at ease while you’re away.
A typical day
A typical day with the pets I care for is centered around consistency, comfort, and fun! I work full-time during the day (8–4), which means I’m available for morning, evening, and weekend care. I always make sure pets start and end their day feeling loved, exercised, and relaxed. In the mornings, I prioritize a walk (for dogs), fresh water, feeding, and some quality playtime to help them burn off energy before the day begins. Whether that’s a brisk walk, a slower sniff-filled stroll, or playing with their favourite toy, I tailor activities to each pet’s energy level and personality. During evening visits, I focus on connection and enrichment—this might include longer walks, interactive play, cuddles, or simply spending calm, reassuring time with them. For cats or more independent pets, I ensure litter boxes are clean, they’re fed, and still get attention and engagement at their comfort level. I’m also happy to incorporate any routines your pet is used to—whether that’s administering medication, sticking to training practices, or maintaining specific feeding schedules. My goal is always to make your pet feel safe, happy, and as close to their normal routine as possible while you’re away.

Reliable, Loving Care for Your Pets
Pet care experience
I provide reliable, attentive care that’s tailored to each pet’s unique needs and personality. Whether it’s a high-energy dog who needs a long walk or a more relaxed pet who just wants company, I meet them where they’re at. I have experience caring for both puppies and senior dogs, and I’m comfortable adjusting routines, administering basic medications, and paying close attention to changes in behaviour. I prioritize clear communication with owners, so you’ll always feel updated and at ease while you’re away.
Reviews

Mikaila was excellent with our diabetic kitty Ringo. I appreciated the cute updates and photos. Our first experience with Rover and I quite nervous but was a great experience. I do not hesitate to recommend.
