“Blake has been dog sitting and caring for our puppy ever since he was a baby. Blake is always punctual, and our dog, now almost 7 years old, Rocco is beyond thrilled when they come over! Blake knows how to connect with animals on a deep level and I feel the most confident that Rocco is always getting the best care from them. Thanks Blake!”

“Jonathan did great with my cats. They are not very friendly with strangers but he took all the hissing and swats aimed at him in stride. By the end of the booking they seemed to have warmed up a bit and when I came home they were relaxed and calm. Jonathan also injured his knee right before the booking but still did not cancel, even though my apartment is on the fourth floor with no elevator. I really appreciated that 🙂. He was extremely flexible with dropping off/ picking up keys and the initial meet and greet. The rover cards were detailed and I loved all the numerous creative pictures I received of the cats. I would definitely book with him again!”

“A big thank you to Ashton. I asked him to do a two hour drop in. Of course, my dog had diarrhea . Ashton dealt with it without making a fuss, and my dog is happy that he didn't have to be in the kennel for the whole morning.”

About: I grew up on a farm surrounded by all sorts of furry friends! I have fed, cared for and trained my two family dogs growing up and my family took in many strays that needed a home :) I adore all animals, no matter the energy level or size!! I would love to meet your pets and take some stress off your plate while you are traveling or at work! I currently work a part time job that has me booked most weekends for an evening shift around 5-6 hours long. My weekdays however are totally free! I feed my foster cats in the morning and evening and would happily fit anything in around that! I do not have the space to care for pets in my apartment but I am very diligent on following instructions. Whatever you feel is the best routine for your pet is what I will follow! I will never allow other people into your home without your consent and I will ensure everything is clean and tidy when you get back!
“We couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter than Zoe. She did drop-in visits for our four cats over two weeks and truly went above and beyond in every way. Her communication was excellent—she provided detailed notes after each visit along with lots of pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our cats were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Zoe also took amazing care of our home. She even shoveled when it snowed and brought in packages that arrived while we were gone, which was incredibly thoughtful. When we returned, the house smelled fresh and clean—not like litter at all—which says so much about the level of care she put in. We would absolutely recommend Zoe to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring pet sitter.”

“My cat became sick just a few days before an out of country vacation. Sonia and her husband worked closely with a neighbour to ensure Rudy was well taken care of, hydrated and recovering. It was very reassuring to get detailed updates each day letting me know Rudy’s improvements and knowing she was being checked on, played with and pet while I was away. This was the second time Sonia took care of Rudy and she continues to be more and more comfortable with Sonia. I strongly recommend Sonia and will be scheduling her again:)”

“This was the first time I've left Bee all by herself and she was well loved and content when I returned. David sent me photos for every check-in and took time to play with her and talk to her. I highly recommend him; he put my mind at ease and I could enjoy my vacation.”

About: I’ve got aims to become a dog trainer. I’ve had the pleasure of caring for several pets, mainly dogs and rabbits. Being familiar with prey species, I’ve got a soft spot for the timid and fearful dog in your life. I’m working to become a dog trainer, and I’d be more than happy to support your training goals when I’m with your pet. I’m available until 11am and after 4pm weekdays. Weekends are generally open, especially with advanced notice. As I work to become a trainer, making time for you and your pet is a priority for me. Your pet is unique and you know them best, so I’ll aim to learn what your needs and expectations are well in advance of providing care. With your pet, I am attentive to any needs they communicate and respond accordingly.
“One of the things that I love about Andrea is her flexibility. She seems to always try her best to accommodate our schedule & help us out with our four-leggeds when needed.”
About: With the shared responsibilities of owning a family dog, I have learned how to properly take care of our beloved furry friends. In addition, I have been a reliable dog-walker and dog-sitter for family and friends over the years. I work a full-time job, but if you need a walk or visit I am free before 8am and after 4:30pm!! I enjoy long walks, in which I would love to have a furry companion to join me. If your dog needs the extra exercise or energy release, I am a college student athlete and I can also jog along with your dog. I will respect the routines and environment that you have implemented for your dog in your home. I will care for your dog depending on how you have your space set up.
About: I’ve been around and cared for dogs for as long as I can remember. I have experience with all sizes of dogs from Great Danes to Shih Tzus. I have experience with puppies as young as 6 weeks that need more attention, play time, and potty breaks. But also senior dogs as old as 18 that need more rest and calmer environments. I’m currently working part time but do expect to start my full time summer job soon. Feel free to ask me about my work schedule as my hours and days change weekly. I enjoy very early mornings and evenings. I enjoy morning walks and love being accompanied by others pets. My weekends are usually spent at home and are very slow paced. I like spending time outdoors and occasionally going to the dog park with my friends and their animals. I have a large, fenced off, grass backyard and built in baby gates around my home. My house is mostly carpet which I find more comfortable and safer for the senior dogs that come around.
About: I have had pets in my home since I was a child and pets gravitate towards me. I would love to take your dog for a walk and fetch in the park, or take care of them overnight. My dog & I frequently enjoy hours together in the river valley and he would love a companion. If you’re not comfortable with that (though he is a sweetheart), I can walk your pup solo! I’ll always be sure to have water on hand, and if permitted, treats! You can rest assured that your dog (or cat or ferret) will be safe and happy in my care. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know and I will be happy to give you anymore relevant information! I am currently home nearly 24/7 focussing on boarding dogs :) I am also available to walk any day of the week! Your dog will be spoiled with attention if you book with me! I live in a gated community downtown so your pet would be safe in my home. I also drive a Ford escape so there’s plenty of space for multiple dogs in my vehicle for transportation to walks.
“Hannah was very responsive and attentive during the sitting service. Hannah followed a lot of instructions well. Grooming my two medium-hairs daily was very important and I appreciated Hannah's willingness to take the time to do it. Hannah will spend the time needed to properly care for your animals and I would happily hire this sitter again.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Edmonton
This was our first time using Rover, so we really looked for someone who met our needs and made us feel comfortable leaving our pet with. Ella was great and exceeded expectations! Her reports were thoughtful and reassuring. She cared for our dog in a very personal way. I think our dog was a little disappointed she stopped coming by once we got home lol definitely would recommend Ella, and will be using her again!!!

Julia is lovely. We booked her services while we were away for a couple days and she took incredible care of Winnie. Julia is responsible, organized, and compassionate. Her experience with reactive dogs is an asset. We would happily ask her to dog sit again in the future!

Urbah continues to impress and amaze me! She is completely dependable and dedicated. My pups just love her- and when I come home after work, and she has visited them, they are happy and fulfilled. I don’t know what I would do without her. She meets the training needs of my 4 year old and completely meets the needs of my 14.5 year old puppy. Finding someone who adds to your life and your pups is rare indeed. So happy she is a part of our life!!!

Umber is amazingly patient with our reactive nervous girly! She’s patient and calm, and knows the most important ways to deal with reactive dogs like letting them come to you, not making eye contact until they’re ready, etc. By the end of the visit, Hannah was cuddled up on the couch with her. We are so incredibly grateful we found her.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
