About: While I did not grow up with cats in our homes, I have been caring for them for the past 28 years, through friends, family and neighbors. I am well experienced through vet care (2 years work and hands-on clinic training through boarding, medical care, and surgical assistance), as well as a large rescue, housing up to 400 over-capavity feline friends at one time. I am Pet First Aid certified through Walks 'n Wags. I have been a foster parent for 20 years, and currently foster primarily cats snd kittens from 2 different rescues, so I am well-versed in deep cleaning and disinfection practices. All feline guests must be fully vaccinated (min. 2 weeks), and all boys over the age of 6 months must be neutered. Lots of regular updates were to be had with plenty of photos of my cats and Melissa playing with my cats (the photo of the Snowbirds was a sweet bonus!). My cats were definitely happy cats while Melissa was taking care of them and she did some serious multitasking with the wand for my older cat and the laser pointer for the two younger cats. One of my younger cats decided to play hide-and seek with Melissa but once the other 2 cats gave away the hiding spot, she warmed up quickly to Melissa. Melissa kept the litter box area clean and had to clean up some vomit every now-and-again from one of my cats. She cleaned up the area and used my steamvac to make the area look better. One of our cats is diabetic and not only requires full-time "babysitting" but has a strict diet, requires insulin 2x a day, and needs her blood sugar checked. They had never taken care of a diabetic cat before, but you would never know!! Denis took videos during our "meet and greet" for his reference and sent text/picture updates with her blood sugar numbers, insulin dose, and appetite. We felt so at ease during our vacation, and so did our cats! Our cats were happy to see us when we got home, but we could tell that they were very well-loved and taken care of when we were gone. About: I’ve always been around pets (despite being allergic, cats especially have always been drawn to me) so I have plenty of experience interacting with and looking after animals of varying temperaments, ages, activity levels, personalities, and needs. About: I grew up on a farm surrounded by a wide range of animals. I currently live with my dog, Hank, and two cats, Nora and Ted. I have had my dog, Hank since he was a puppy. He is now 12 years old. I am well versed in senior care. I had my cat, Charlie for 18 years, giving him medication daily to manage his high-blood pressure. Sadly, I said good-bye to Charlie three years ago. It was one of the hardest things I had to do. I have genuine love and care for senior animals after his passing. I work full time as a teacher. I am usually busy Monday-Friday during the day. However, my partner works from home. With teaching I also have a very flexible schedule when it comes to holidays and weekends! My home has a large yard. There will be plenty of walks and opportunities for play. I take my dog for 3 walks throughout the day, often spending more than two hours outside with him. About: Ive been taking care of dogs my whole life. Ive trained my own dogs. They are now my emotional support. I love training as well I can be flexible with my schedule. Mostly free on the evenings and weekends. I have plenty of time to give love to any dogs ❤️ I have a fenced yard, small dog pool for hot summer and a 3 mins walk from the dog park.
