“We had a great experience with Jill ! We left our Boston Terrier for a few hours, and everything went perfectly. Our dog was well cared for, and we felt completely at ease. Thank you for taking such good care of him. We would definitely book again!”

“Ana was absolutely amazing with our dogs. She was so welcoming and accommodating fitting us in last minute for a daycare stay. I would trust her with my pets anytime.”

“Ana is a complete lifesaver. We had major renovations start in our home earlier than expected and my dog is 14 years old this month. No way I could leave hom at home with strangers making sounds at all hours of the day! She was able to take him in last minute, and provided many updates, photos, and videos throughout the day. Honestly, he is so excited to go he screams when he knows we are almost there. She takes better care of him that I probably do. I highly recommend Ana. She is really nice, takes great care of animals, and clearly loves them. Even my old mop of a boy.”

“So happy we found Lynette! She goes above and beyond for our Ajax. We didn’t expect her to walk him in that short period of time he is in her care but she still walks him. Lynette is now one of our regular daycare for our dog. We are also happy that she updates us all throughout the day. My dog is so happy and content coming home and he is always excited to go back to Lynette’s house. ☺️☺️”

“Took very good care of my pup and gave her good exercise to the point where she didn’t wanna walk/run around at all after which was amazing! Will definitely be using Korinna for all future pup-sitting”

About: I have taken care of dogs from big to small ever since I was a kid. We’ve always had pets out in the country until I have moved to the city. Looking to spend time and caring for your fur ball when you’re away. I’m currently working from home fulltime. I am looking to incorporating daily walks in the evenings or weekends during the summer and can offer housing sitting as well, if you need a house sit and feed/walk/play with your pet. I can easily crate your dogs and care for them while you’re away. I can feed them, walk them and take them out for bathroom breaks when needed.
“Zoey and Scooter had great care. This is the first time we have used a day home and it was a great experience. They were able to accommodate our short notice so we could both attend an out of town funeral. They have a beautiful yard to play in. If we need their service again we will definitely book with them again. Thanks Gordon and Nina.”

“Thank you for taking care of Kai. The regular communication and timely updates helped me remain in touch without being physically present—I really appreciated that. :)”

“Katrina and Ryan are an amazing couple who provided day sitting to my energetic young lab on a number of occasions. My pup comes home happy, healthy, tired and is eager to return for more fun each time. They provide a safe, loving environment for my pup and report on her daily activities/progress with photos. I trust them and highly recommend them. I will continue to use their services and promote them to others.”

About: What sets me apart is that I truly treat every dog in my care like they’re part of my family — not just a guest. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone new, so my goal is to make both you and your pup feel completely comfortable. While I may be newer to professional dog sitting, dogs are already a huge part of my everyday life. I share my home with my own sweet pup LunaRu, a collie/malamute mix, and our days usually include 1–2 long walks, plenty of playtime, and opportunities to get outside (including trips to the dog park when it’s a good fit). I understand how important routine is for dogs, so I’m happy to follow your pup’s usual schedule, feeding instructions, training cues, and preferences to help them feel safe and settled. Whether your dog is energetic and looking for adventure or just wants companionship and a cozy place to relax, I’ll adjust to their personality and needs. I also love sending updates and photos so you can enjoy your time away knowing your furry family member is getting plenty of attention, exercise, and love. 🐾 I am currently working part-time from home for myself so I completely make my own schedule! Pet care is already a big part of my everyday routine! My dog LunaRu and I love getting outside, and our typical day includes 1–2 long walks, playtime, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I really enjoy having a dog as part of my daily life, so adding another furry friend to join our routine feels like a natural fit. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to spend lots of time with the dogs in my care and make sure they get the exercise, companionship, and attention they need. Whether that means an adventure outside, a trip to the dog park (if appropriate), playtime at home, or some cozy downtime, I’m happy to adjust to each dog’s personality and routine. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I want every pup in my care to feel like they’re getting a fun little vacation while still having the structure and security they’re used to at home. I have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely enjoy fresh air, playtime, and supervised outdoor time. I also share my home with my friendly dog LunaRu, so visiting pups have the opportunity to have a buddy to play with (after proper introductions and making sure everyone is comfortable). I know every dog has different needs and routines, so I’m happy to follow your instructions for feeding, walks, training cues, sleeping arrangements, and any house rules you’d like maintained. I also have extra crates available for dogs who are crate trained or feel safest having their own cozy space. My goal is to create a calm, safe, and loving environment where your dog feels at home — with plenty of exercise, attention, snuggles, and updates along the way. 🐾

“Honestly the best sitter, my Willows first time going to a sitter and Marie is always there and gives you updates, makes sure your dog gets loved, I couldn’t be more happier with her as the sitter, I’m glad my pup had a wonderful time😊”

“I'm so thankful to have found Jodeen. From the start she made the doggy daycare process so easy. Great communication, straight forward setup. When I'm at the office I'm so glad Dolly, my dog, had somewhere wonderful to hang out with her doggy pals.”

“Brenda is the best with my loveable but reactive dog. She understands him on an emotional level and takes his needs very seriously. He always has the best time when he is with her and I am grateful to know that my dog has a safe and loving second home. Thank you Brenda!”

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Maple commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
