“Jill is amazing! She is very observant and knows Raven well: tells us all the details in the Rover cards and is an exceptional photographer (love the giggle fest pictures!) thanks for everything !!”

“Alex was a very patient and kind caregiver for our miniature dachshund Maxx. Alex took many photos while taking care of Maxx, so we could see what Maxx was doing during his stays. By Maxx's second visit, he had settled in quite well with Alex and his dog and he seemed very happy to be there. We will definitely request more daycare with Alex soon!”

“Ana was so kind to my nervous boy, he came home very happy. She replied quickly and accommodated a very last minute a meet and greet. We will for sure be booking Ana again in the near future.”

About: I have pet sit for a wide variety of friends and family with all different kind of animals. Dogs most frequently to cats and even birds. I work full time Monday to Thursday 7am to 3pm. My work is in office 15 minute drive from my home. I can come home on my lunch break to allow for extra potty breaks if needed. I live in town houses, so if your dog cries from separation anxiety please let me know ahead of time. I do my best to tailor my routine to your pets needs. I know how Important it is to keep a pets routine the same.
“Thank you for taking care of Kai. The regular communication and timely updates helped me remain in touch without being physically present—I really appreciated that. :)”

“Thank you so much for looking after our little pup. She was very happy to be in your home. We appreciated the updates, and the photos. Your communication was top-notch. Loki was sound asleep when we picked her up so obviously she was comfortable in your home. Thank you again.”

“Ana is a complete lifesaver. We had major renovations start in our home earlier than expected and my dog is 14 years old this month. No way I could leave hom at home with strangers making sounds at all hours of the day! She was able to take him in last minute, and provided many updates, photos, and videos throughout the day. Honestly, he is so excited to go he screams when he knows we are almost there. She takes better care of him that I probably do. I highly recommend Ana. She is really nice, takes great care of animals, and clearly loves them. Even my old mop of a boy.”

About: I have been taking care of animals my whole life, i can take care of puppies, mid size and large dogs aswell. I have a husky at my home. He is friendly aswell. I basically work from home, So I can give maximum care to the dogs. I will be taking for long walks and feed them on time. My daily average steps for this year is 9000, that itself says I am an active person. I have fully furnished house and the dogs will be safe inside the house. They can freely roam around the house and the doors will be locked all the time. I can also put them in crate if the client ask for.
“We knew the second we walked in, Lynette was our person. Her home was spotless, Jazzy ran in like she owned the place, and Lynette beamed with love and affection for our girl immediately. Jazzy jumped into her arms and gave kisses like she's known her forever. If you're looking for someone that truly loves your dog like her own, keeps them safe, and creates an atmosphere we all want to be a part of.....then Lynette is your person too! Thank you for loving Jazzy ♥️”

“Korinna has always been one of Cooper's favorite places to stay. He seems to enjoy the environment and Korinna's company. She is very affordable and always willing to take Cooper when called upon even when I am last minute! 😁”

“Opie had such a great time at Nicole's that he didn't want to leave! She has a massive backyard for Opie to run with the other pups to burn off that energy. Was also sent many pictures and videos of Opie having fun. Would highly recommend Nicole as your dog-sitter.”

“Very professional and kept me up to date through the sitting. I was able to book with short notice and felt comfortable after a short meet and greet. Khushboo made everything easy and friendly.”

“Andrea made everything easy from start to finish. Communication was quick, clear, and effortless, which gave me confidence throughout the process. She was professional, reliable, and I never had any concerns about leaving my dog in her care. It was clear that she genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after. I would not hesitate to book with her again.”

About: I have taken care of dogs from big to small ever since I was a kid. We’ve always had pets out in the country until I have moved to the city. Looking to spend time and caring for your fur ball when you’re away. I’m currently working from home fulltime. I am looking to incorporating daily walks in the evenings or weekends during the summer and can offer housing sitting as well, if you need a house sit and feed/walk/play with your pet. I can easily crate your dogs and care for them while you’re away. I can feed them, walk them and take them out for bathroom breaks when needed.
About: Missing going on walks with my labs on the farm. Would love to give some doggies care and exercise —my cat is NOT about the leash life. I work on the South side 7:00-3:30, Monday to Friday. Available for both early morning and evening walks on weekdays. Available anytime during the weekend. I have experience with many different breeds and temperaments of dogs, as I used to volunteer at the Edmonton Humane Society dog walking the shelter dogs. I do have a fenced yard if off leash time is better suited for your dog. Felix (my cat) can attest he gets all the attention but I also know when he wants personal space. Cats know what they want.
“Linda is an incredible dog sitter! She’s so kind and caring, treating our puppy like one of her own. With her two small dogs as wonderful playmates, our puppy always feels right at home. She’s also quick to respond and keeps us updated, which gives us great peace of mind. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate caregiver for their pet!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Laurel
We are so happy and grateful that we had our 2 year old puppy stay with Alexander. It was our first time leaving him behind. We were nervous at first, but Alexander made everything so easy. While we were away he sent us updates of our Charlie and was having a great time. Alexander took him out for walks( which our Charlie loves), fed him well and played with him. Charlie had so much fun. Thank you so much, Alexander!!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Laurel commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
