About: I’d love to care for your pup with walks, visits, or overnight hang-outs! I work from home most of the time (setting my own schedule for days in the office) and will be able to spend tons of time with your pup with very few and flexible exceptions. We have our own pup, a young golden retriever who is very social and confident and silly. He plays and gets along really well with other dogs! Dogs who are well behaved, relaxed, and mellow are my favourite, but I love pups who have more energy as long as they listen really well and are gentle and kind :) We can go for walks in our quiet and safe neighbourhood and in the huge field outside our front door, and we can hangout together in our paved and closed off backyard! We are pretty mellow people and love having a pup around to walk and adventure with and to snuggle and chill with. I do not take dogs who do not walk well on a leash (unrelenting pulling is a no-go, but they also don’t have to be perfect or beside me the whole time - they can certainly sniff and explore and enjoy themselves), who are loud (consistent barking or whining), who have destructive separation anxiety, or who are aggressive with or have issues with other dogs or people (reactivity). If you’re in need of a sitter for a longer duration, it’s best if your dog would be comfortable in an office environment where other dogs may be present. It’s easier to accommodate longer stays if I can bring them with me to work, though I am able to work from home any time and certainly over shorter stays. Safety is my top priority followed closely by having fun! When outside I’ll keep your dog on a leash unless we are hanging out together in our closed off backyard.

I am available starting at 3:30 PM on weekdays, as well as on weekends. Additionally, if clients live nearby, I have a lunch hour during which I can come by to visit the dog. I’m happy to meet with clients beforehand to get to know your dog’s routine and preferences. This way, we can ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for your furry friend.

“Vanessa took amazing care of my dog. Matter of fact, I think Pam wants to go back! I got photos and updates and at no point was I worried about my dog. In my rush to pack up for the week I miscalculated how much dog food to send and Vanessa didnt hesitate to fix my mistake and go get her some more. Great family home and my dog got to be exposed to a younger kid who knows how to approach new dogs and read body language. From the first meet and greet to drop off and pick up I knew my dog was in great hands. Would 100% recommend and will be asking Vanessa next time I need a sitter.”
