Melinda was fantastic with both my cats. Milo got all the playtime and attention he loves, and she was wonderfully patient with Russell until he warmed up. I came home to two happy, relaxed boys. The photo updates were thoughtful and reassuring and it was obvious Melinda took the time to get to know each cat's personality. Highly recommend, especially if you have a mix of confident and cautious cats. Will definitely book again. Thanks for looking after Milo and Russell, Melinda! ❤️

AMAZING!! 2/3 of my cats are very shy and Ana was able to bring them out of their shell and play with them and get some cuddles! Her short visits helped me feel so much better about leaving my kitties for the week while I was in another province. My cats looked sooo happy in all the photos while they were eating and also getting that playtime in! So so so happy with her service. Will definitely rebook in the future if she will have me!!

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover who grew up around dogs and has been caring for cats for the past 7 years. I’m comfortable with pets of all sizes, breeds, and personalities, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each animal’s unique quirks. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or just keeping them company, I make sure your pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I'm currently unemployed so I'm mostly available at any time, but once I'm back at work, I can easily fit into my schedule no problem. Animals don't scare me, we just need to give them some space and respect their boundaries. Being calm around them always helps so they know they're not under threat.

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong animal lover with over 30 years of experience caring for both dogs and cats. Pets have always been an important part of my life, and I treat them like family members. I joined Rover because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and want to provide reliable, compassionate care when their owners can't be there. I have experience caring for pets of all ages, including senior pets, and I'm comfortable administering medications and following detailed care instructions. I also have experience with shy and anxious pets and understand the importance of patience, consistency, and earning an animal's trust. Every pet is unique, and I take the time to provide care that matches their individual personality and needs. As a mature, responsible professional, I understand how important trust and communication are. I'll treat your pet as if they were my own and keep you updated with messages and photos so you can feel confident they're happy, safe, and well cared for. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! Caring for animals has always been a part of my daily routine. I currently care for my own senior cat and understand the importance of consistency, reliability, and attention to detail when it comes to pet care. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to accommodate walks and drop-in visits throughout the week. When caring for a client's pet, I make it a priority to follow their routine as closely as possible and provide the attention, exercise, companionship, and care their pet needs. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so pet care is something I look forward to rather than simply another task on my schedule. I believe pets are happiest when their normal routine is maintained, so I take the time to learn each pet's individual needs and preferences. During drop-in visits, I'll ensure your pet has fresh food and water, potty breaks as needed, playtime, companionship, and plenty of affection. For cats, I'll also scoop litter boxes and keep their area clean and comfortable. For dogs, I'll provide safe, enjoyable walks tailored to their age, energy level, and abilities. Whether your dog enjoys a brisk walk or a slower-paced stroll with lots of sniffing and exploring, I'll make sure they get the exercise and attention they need. I treat every pet as if they were my own and will keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you're away.

About: I've been taking care of dogs most of my life. I have experience caring for all sorts of dogs of any age. I do have a 2 year old pet beagle girl named Macy. She's very kind and loves people and dogs alike. I live in a 3 bedroom house with my partner. It has a fenced yard in a safe south side neighbourhood by Ellerslie Rd and is a few steps away from a park. I can walk, feed, bathe, and host overnight boarding. I love dogs and that translates to happy dog experiences! I have a flexible work schedule, so I am able to easily fit your busy lifestyle. I have an open availability in the spring/summer and in the fall/winter I work part time. I love going for long walks daily throughout my neighbourhood. I have two baby gates that prevent dogs from leaving the living room. I have other rooms, including a finished basement, that can be used to separate dogs who don't get along with each other. I have a variety of treats and toys.

We really appreciated her patience with Benji. He was very shy and nervous with someone new, but she took her time, sat on the floor to help him feel comfortable, and never rushed him. Even though he wasn't ready for a walk, she made sure he had a chance to go outside and kept us updated throughout the visit. We'd happily book with her again.

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was 10. My family has had dogs of all sizes throughout my entire life, which has allowed me to learn how to keep them safe, happy, and healthy. My family and friends have trusted me with the care of their pets in the past as well. I also have experience with cats, birds, hamsters, hedgehogs, rabbits, and even pigs. I'm available for boarding from 10 AM to 10 PM everyday except for Friday's (and the occasional Sunday). My availability will change in September when my university classes start up again. Making sure that dogs get to explore and sniff to their hearts content is very important to me, as its been found to make them feel more happy and safe. I also have a water bottle for dogs so they can stay hydrated on active and warm days. Ultimately, it's important to me that I respect your pets need for both attention and personal space.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Sitting in Laurel on Rover is $22.2 per visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 1,193 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Laurel. About 87% of Laurel sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Laurel stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:

  • Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
  • House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
  • Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.

Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Laurel choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
