“Riley had so much fun! Vanessa took her on walks and she got to play with her daughters. This was very last minute so I was really happy that Riley ended up spending the day with such a great family!”

“Robyn and her family were AMAZING with my dog. It was the first time we have picked him up from a sitter and he didnt show signs of stress. When we picked him up, he was not wearing his harness, which really shows me that they are dog people and knew to take it off when he didnt need it on. Major loved them right away. 10/10 would be using them again.”

“Marie is a wonderful and caring sitter. She took my dog in last-minute, and cared for her like she was her own. Her house is well prepared for hosting and she sent me frequent updates on how my pup was doing. She also took some beautiful frame-worthy pictures of my girl. I would recommend Marie to anyone!”

“As I was frantically searching for a dog-sitter with little to no notice, Jeremy reached out to me during my emergency late at night and was more than happy to help me in my time of need anticipating an early morning drop-off. He and his wife were very accommodating to my situation and the needs of my Scout and were able to give me peace of mind throughout the day with various updates and such wonderful pictures and videos. I was immediately comfortable with Jeremy as soon as I met him and knew my pet was in great hands which of course was further confirmed when I picked up Scout at the end of the day and met his wife as well who also had a huge part in Scout's day. I could tell Scout was very happy to be with them both and that he got lots of attention and playtime. I immediately booked a second day for them to help myself get caught up and would definitely recommend Jeremy's home to anybody looking for an amazing pet-sitter!”

About: I work from home, will guarantee 3 walks per day, allow dogs on furniture and bed (if so requested). My medium dog Coco and I look forward to caring for your dog and welcoming them in our loving home. I dog walk daily at morning, lunch and evening, at times exceeding 10km per day. As I work from home, pets are seldom alone and always paid close attention to. As a life long dog owner, your pet is a priority and will be pampered just like my own is. Our home has ample space for close cuddles or solo couch lounge sessions.

About: We are an early 60 yr old couple who very recently said our goodbyes to our 17 yr 8 month old bichon/havenese Tucker 💔. We live in a lovely area with a huge fenced yard backing onto the St. Albert trail system. I am home fulltime and Craig (dog whisperer) has a flexible part time schedule. We love dogs! With easy access to the parks, dogs who vacation with us can enjoy at least 2 to 3 walks per day! Of course there is always ongoing daily activities including playing ball and running along the rear fence of our yard watching, sniffing and chasing who ever walks along the path! I have had a regular dog walking client for 3 years that will be ceasing in March 25. Both their dogs were large breed and enjoyed a 5 plus km walk 4 days a week with me. I am looking to fill that spot and can provide a reference from their fur family to you! We have always owned at least one dog and we happily spoil others including the neighbourhood dogs who come for their frequent belly scratches! Fur babies staying here are our family members! Being home we love to be active with our furry friends, either playing in our massive yard or while on our great experience driven walks! Every furbaby is treated as our own in a warm and loving environment with the mindset of always putting safety and your pets comfort first!
About: 🌼 When you book with Adri, happy pets and relaxed owners are 100% guaranteed!! 🌼 Feel safe knowing that your pet is being cared for by a tried and true professional in the business. From suckling to senior I have handled, learned about, and enjoyed caring for any and all stages of both canines and felines as well as birds, reptiles, and rodents.I spent three years professionally handling dogs in a boarding and daycare facility. Post graduation from high school I dedicated most of my weeks to volunteering with rescues such as SCARS and AHHRB, being a foster parent to two larger breed dogs at separate times while playing my part in helping them get adopted. 🌼I am certified in both canine and feline CPR/ first aid through Canine Health Canada 🌼 I have special experience with different ability levels as well! Medicated seniors (pills, injections, liquids, etc.), tripods (missing one or more legs), blind or deaf pups, extreme allergies, I’ve dealt and thrived through it all before. 🌼I am currently studying both psychology and sociology at Concordia University in Edmonton and am excited to specialize in comparative psychology in the future. I am currently working part time for the summer so I have plenty of availability for all services! ☀️Boarding and daycare availability is dependent on the dates involved so please never hesitate to reach out! I have a closed off side yard available to me, two wonderful fully fenced off-leash dog parks and multiple outdoor private areas surrounding my vicinity. Wether you’re looking to socialize your pet more, or depend on them being able to relax in their own, all needs can and will be accommodated to my best ability. I have a very friendly and supportive 10 month old mini poodle mix that would be more than happy to keep your pet company, he is quite fortunately excellent with both lower energy and high energy friends. I can also easily crate pets for safety if needed for any reason.
“This was Kuma’s first daycare experience! Amanda was a super great host. Very understanding of the puppy type my dog is and knowing how to cater to it. Kuma was met with other friendly dogs who he had tons of play time with. He surely came out super pooped when we got home! Would highly recommend Amanda as safe and welcoming place to stay for any dog!”

“I was looking for a sitter to look after Ella from time to time to let her socialize and get used to somebody else taking care of her. Ella was very happy to play with the other dogs. Ella was happy when we came to pick her up. She was also totally played out and tired from her big day. Katrina was very prompt with her responses as well as professional. Overall I was very happy with the service and look forward to Ella's next daycare with Katrina working towards an eventual overnight stay.”

“My dog really enjoyed his time with Heather. She made sure Toby was looked after and even made some treats for him. My dog is a handful but she was patient and very attentive. It was already a hit for my dog and I am glad it was a successful meet and greet experience.”

“Anna was great with our dog, she kept him active and entertained. I felt very comfortable with leaving our family dog with her for a couple hours while we enjoyed the west Edmonton mall. We booked very last minute and she was very accommodating to our schedule. Overall was a pleasant experience. Would definitely book with Anna again.”

About: I’ve always lived with a dog, and have experience with every size pup. I have watched friends pups for years as well. We have 2 kids in the house who are more than excited to help out! I work full time away from home, but my spouse works from home, so someone is always around to be with your dog. We are home on weekends, and evenings. I have a fully fenced in yard. If I’m sitting other pets at the time (with approval from both pet owners), we can separate them to give breaks if required, as we have levels in our house to split them apart. Your dog will be walked 1-2 or more times a day, in the morning and evening minimum. If your dog does well off leash, playing fetch in the green field is also an option. We also like to explore Edmonton in the wetlands and enjoy longer walks on weekends.
About: I’ve always been an animal lover. There are few times in my life where I’ve not been caring for animals. I find myself more comfortable with animals than people. I’m comfortable with all ages and sizes. I work from home so I’m always available to take care of your fur baby. I’m comfortable bathing, trimming nails and administering medication to your pet. We moved to the St. Albert area September 2025. After staying with family these last few months, we have finally found our own home. We are now settled in Erin Ridge North. Looking forward to a meet and greet! I work from home so I’m always available for your fur baby. Meet and greets are required prior to acceptance to ensure compatibility with my dog. I understand that having someone else care for your fur baby is stressful for both the pet and the pet parent. I do everything in my power to maintain a safe environment for all animals in my care.

You can leave your pet with me and be completely stress-free knowing they’re safe and cared for! I work very part-time so I am mostly home or close to home while caring for your pet! I am very active so I love being outdoors for long walks. I live in a condo and there are plenty of walking trails and parks right outside my door. I love being outside so your pup will get plenty of walks and outdoor time. I live in a safe, spacious condo with plenty of room for your dog to roam.
“Ana is a complete lifesaver. We had major renovations start in our home earlier than expected and my dog is 14 years old this month. No way I could leave hom at home with strangers making sounds at all hours of the day! She was able to take him in last minute, and provided many updates, photos, and videos throughout the day. Honestly, he is so excited to go he screams when he knows we are almost there. She takes better care of him that I probably do. I highly recommend Ana. She is really nice, takes great care of animals, and clearly loves them. Even my old mop of a boy.”

About: I own a pitbull chocolate lab mix, hes a rescue and is my joy in life. I've taught him manners and made him many friends, he and I are always in the market for new dog friends! Dog parents share their Rover experiences - St. Albert
Olya was wonderful with our 1-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel during her first daycare visit. It was such a relief to know she was in caring hands on a difficult day while we attended a funeral. We loved seeing her in a warm, lively home with children and other pets. Our puppy came home content and relaxed, and we really appreciated Olya's kindness and care. Highly recommend!

We were very pleased that Marilyn was able to take our dog on short notice. She gave her undivided attention as she only takes one dog at a time. Our dog had a great time running around the yard and watching TV on Marilyn’s lap. Thank you for taking good care of our dog.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your St. Albert commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
