“Shea did an awesome job of caring for my two sphynx cats. One has some special health concerns and needs meds 2x day so it’s hard for me to leave her but Shea had my complete confidence. I arrived home to 2 very happy cats. I would definitely recommend Shea…she is very dependable and genuinely cares about animals. I loved all the photos and reports from each visit.”

About: Have had many animals in our past, such as dogs, cats, fish, and even horses. The backyard is large, and backs onto the St. Albert trail system. Excellent for walking your lovely dog. Also my wife has completed her course as a veterinarian assistant. I am a retired gentleman around home most often. Am also able to travel (within St.Albert and area) to your home to tend to your animals. I have a large fenced in backyard which backs onto to the St. Albert trail system and is perfect for walks.. My wife (at one time) was a trained Animal Health Technologist.
About: I have experience with different animals from small dogs to larger breeds > 100lbs I don’t have any pets of my own but I have volunteered at animal shelters walking dogs and giving pets and cuddles to the cats I enjoy walking in the river valley, checking out new neighbourhoods, hiking, and taking advantage of any opportunity to be around animals I am currently working part-time/ casual so my schedule varies but I mostly work evenings and have mornings and weekends off. If there is a stretch of time that will be needed, I can accommodate if sufficient notice is given I would ensure the dog is given a long/short walk depending on needs, letting out to use the bathroom and routine feeding. Lots of play time with balls or toys Cats- I will cuddle or play with your cat(s), feed if needed, clean litter as well

About: I have loved dogs since I was a wee babe. Whether it was being pulled behind the sleigh by our Chesapeake Bay Retriever, walking our Dachshund as a pre-teen, taking our Rottweiler mix to training class during high school, or helping my ageing mother with her senior rescue, I have always had a loving and respectful relationship with dogs. I am literally the girl whose friends all know I stop to pet all the dogs I meet (with permission first of course). So if I sound like your kind of pet person I’d be delighted to help you in looking after your dog! I work a regular Monday-Friday 9-5 week and have evenings free so I have lots of time after work and weekends to walk and play with your pup! I have two calm dog-friendly cats at home so if you have a cat-friendly dog who likes furry friends then they will all get along. I also walk a neighbour’s dog regularly so if your pup prefers to have friends join for walks then we can do that too.
“Marylin is an absolutely wonderful human. My dogs Cocoa and Timbit adored her, and she provided professional, quality, loving care. I would 10/10 recommend her and would love to have her help me with the girls again.”

“Celeste was fantastic. Dogs were happy and healthy when we came back and they seemed totally unphased that we had even left . Updates were a nice touch too! Would 10/10 recommend her services and we won’t hesitate to use her again!”

“I appreciate how Paula took the time to meet with my dogs prior to taking them on a walk. She was very considerate and asked meaningful questions to gain a deeper understanding of my dogs needs. Additionally, I appreciate the communication Paula provided me with during her drop-in visit.”

“Heather was excellent! She came for a meet & greet and was able to follow all care instructions well. She sent me photos and an update, and they seemed happy! I also appreciate her flexibility in coming to care for them on short notice. Thanks so much!”

About: I have had pets my entire life, and I have been trusted to take care of family and friends pets for extended periods of time. I’ve cared for both cats and dogs and I am able to administer medications and bathe animals if needed. I can also feed animals a raw diet if required (with instructions). I like to go on 1-2 walks a day, depending on the dog and my schedule. I am currently a full time university student with a part time job, but I am able to pet sit any day of the week! Currently I’m gone during a few days and evenings. but am more free as summer approaches. During my free time I love going on walks, cuddles, some treats and some fun! I follow instructions of care closely so that both the pet and owners are happy with the experience. I personally keep a tidy space and I clean up after the pet as needed.
About: I am an all-around animal lover who has owned and/or cared for many different animals over the years, including dogs and cats from various backgrounds and of many different breeds and sizes. I’m comfortable with animals of all different personalities and energy levels. As a runner, I can also offer higher-energy dogs a faster-paced walk/run for some extra exercise! I am a university student that attends online classes. Studying at home gives me plenty of time to keep pets company, play with them, and take them for walks. I have a flexible schedule when it comes to fitting in pet care, walks, drop-in visits, etc, into my routine. I provide care in client’s homes. I require a meet and greet beforehand to get to know your pet, learn their routine, discuss care instructions, and to make sure they feel comfortable with me.

About: After saying goodbye to our 14 year old lab we have a puppy who loves to play. I'm happy to offer pee breaks or play time! I work part-time from home and a stay-at-home mom so between errands and school drop offs I'm free to play with furry friends & tire mine out in the process!! My pets are part of the family and we treat them as such. Your furry friends would be well taken care with me! Pee breaks or playtime, I'm your gal.
About: I grew up on a farm surrounded by cattle and dogs of all temperaments, which gave me a deep, natural understanding of animal behavior. I was raised alongside a Rottweiler/Husky mix and have personal experience raising powerful breeds, including caring for a Rottweiler from puppyhood through its first year. Beyond my personal life, I have a professional foundation in animal care. I previously spent time as a Veterinary Assistant and volunteered extensively at animal shelters and clinics. This background means I am highly observant of a pet's health and comfort, and I am strictly dedicated to following medical or dietary routines. Whether your dog is a high-energy "big kid" or a small, sensitive soul, I provide a calm, confident, and structured environment to make them feel right at home. I am currently a student with a flexible schedule that allows for dedicated evening and weekend care. I am available for overnight House Sitting and mid-day Drop-In Visits. Because I study from home frequently, I can provide plenty of companionship and consistent potty breaks for your pups. I prioritize the safety and security of your home and your pets. I am experienced with high-pressure environments and follow all home safety protocols and care instructions to a tee. While on walks, I am hyper-vigilant about surroundings and keep dogs securely leashed. Please note: I offer care in your home only and am unable to host pets at my location.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - St. Albert
Shea was absolutely fantastic. We just moved here and had SO MUCH anxiety about finding a pet sitter, but from the moment we met her during our meet and greet our worries were immediately diminished. This was confirmed with her wonderful updates and pictures we recieved during our time away. It is so apparent that Shea LOVES looking after animals and puts her whole heart into it. We truly couldn't ask for more. We were so impressed that booked her again for an upcoming weekend away. THANK YOU Shea for being so great! We are grateful for the love and care you showed Louis 💙

Our Charles was getting over a sickness and we weren’t ready to leave him home alone just yet. Paula was willing to meet us 10 minutes before our booking to get them introduced as Charles can be anxious with new people. We saw that he trusted her the second she walked in. We left feeling relieved, knowing he was in good hands. She took such good care of him and I will request her again when we need it. Thanks Paula!

It was so nice to have Kate checking in on our dogs. She send pictures and we got a notification every time she started her visit. You could tell the dogs were very happy and well cared for. Kate were amazing and we can definitely recommend her! Looking forward to use her again in the near future :)

Vita was amazing with my dog Nube. She walked her twice a day, fed her and gave her the medications. I’m very thankful to Vita as I had to do an emergency trip abroad because my father passed away. Vita even shovel the snow. She did check ins with every visit that showed the map where she walked my dog and how many times she peed or poop. I would highly recommend Vita to care for your pets 💕🐶🐾

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in St. Albert choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
