Pet care experience
Animal loving medical student!!
Excited to be back on Rover after a break! I’m a final-year medical student at the University of Alberta, and while I would love to have a dog of my own, my current schedule doesn’t quite allow for it. Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I’ve grown up with dogs and have experience living with and caring for a variety of breeds and sizes, including toy poodles, Yorkshire terriers, labradoodles, golden retrievers, and border collies. I love spending time with dogs and treat every pet I care for as if they were my own.

Mikaela is great! She is reliable, communicative and Chopper seemed to warm up to her. I’m always a little nervous how he would respond to someone unfamiliar but it went well!
Mikaela was so warm to talk with and eased any anxiety I had about walking my dog. She was so patient and sweet with him, would hire again!
Took great care of our sensitive bernedoodle Pete and our house for the weekend! She’s been talking him for several months now and we’ve never had any issues! Would recommend:)
Mikaela has been walking our large bernedoodle for a couple of weeks now! She’s great! We’ve also booked her for a weekend stay with Pete at our house 🏡 would highly recommend
Mikaela was wonderful with Bo, my Bernese Mountain Dog. He came home nice and tired which is what we want 😀. Both Bo and myself are looking forward to his regular weekly walks. Thank you Mikaela!
Mikaela is amazing! She watched our boy George and when our flights were cancelled and we were delayed by a day she was able to help us adjust and take care of things on this end. She’s a super star.

Schedule
I am a student in my final year of medical school at the University of Alberta. I am available for walks and drop ins at lunchtime, afternoons, and evenings, as well as most weekends. Send me a message with any questions you have about availability. If your dog likes to run, I do too so if they are trained to run I would love to take them with me!
Where your pet will stay
Safety, trust & environment
I always ensure there is available water for dogs, whether they are in the backyard or inside the house. Please let me know about any rules or safety concerns you would like me to know about (e.g. backyard fences, dogs on couch, house plants).
A typical day
I love to take walks by the river, I find that dogs also enjoy their time as there are lots of new sights and smells. If your dog likes to run, I do too so if they are trained to run I would love to take them with me!
