About: I have been taking care of dogs for the past fifteen years. More recently, over the last four years, I have gravitated towards adopting dogs that either require more care or are older and unlikely to be given a life they deserve. I can handle high energy dogs, I have a schnauzer that requires a lot of attention. He needs frequent walks and quite a bit of exercise chasing his ball. I can also handle dogs that require special care. One of the dogs I adopted was found by my girlfriend and I in terrible conditions after being hit by a car. His back was broken and he was left on the side of the road. We looked after him, changing diapers, and cleaning his body for months until he was able to walk again using three legs. He even became a very great playmate for my schnauzer. He lived a very happy life before ultimately passing. I would be looking to give plenty of time to your dog(s) making sure they are active and cared for as if they were my own. I have plenty of time throughout the day to walk your dog. Also I make sure when I am outside with dogs that it is their time; they get to enjoy the walk at their own pace. On weekends, I can make time to care for your pets as long as I have a notice of 1-2 days. I have an unfenced yard so therefore your dog will be on a leash at all times when we are outside. There are plenty of very nice walking trails right outside my house. I can also take your dog to the park if that is what they like.

We had a fantastic experience with Samana. Our dog loves her and enjoyed going for walks with her. Samana is so friendly and accommodating, and she was extremely punctual and sent us lots of picture and videos from her walks with Ollie. She’s a very responsive communicator and we felt very comfortable with her taking care of our fur baby. We will definitely be re-booking with Samana!

About: My family has always had several pets since my early childhood whose care was primarily the responsibility of my siblings and I, mostly cats and a golden retriever puppy who’s now 11. I’ve cared for neighbour’s pets since the age of 13 and am now accustomed to several different breeds/sizes of dogs, cats, fish, horses, ducks, and snakes! I’m currently a stay-at-home-mom to my very friendly and energetic 10 month old son, which leaves me with significant time and freedom to keep your pets happy and healthy! I have no restrictions on my availability so you can be assured your furry family members will be thoroughly cared for! While I unfortunately can’t take pets to my own home, the bright side is that your pets should be nice and comfortable in their familiar space! My son will most often accompany me, but no need to worry if your pets are not child friendly, I’ll always bring a standard play pen to help keep everybody’s babies safe. He is also very familiar with pets and knows how to be gentle with our furry friends!

About: Hi, I'm Barb, and if there's one thing you should know about me, it's this—I will care for your dog as if they were my own. As the proud dog mom of my beloved Sasha, I understand that our dogs aren't "just pets." They're family. That's why every walk is about so much more than exercise. It's about making your dog feel safe, happy, loved, and cared for while you're away. I'm naturally calm, patient, and dependable. As a Reiki Master and lifelong caregiver, I've learned that animals respond to gentle energy, kindness, and consistency. Whether your dog is bursting with energy, a little nervous, or enjoying their senior years, I'll meet them with compassion and respect for their individual personality. I love being outdoors and believe dogs thrive when they have time to explore, sniff, play, and simply enjoy the world around them. Every walk is tailored to your dog's pace and needs, never rushed. When you trust me with your dog, you're trusting someone who understands how much they mean to you. I'll keep them safe, give them my full attention, and treat them with the same love and care I give my own Sasha. My goal is simple: a happy dog, a worry-free owner, and a tail that can't stop wagging. I am flexible with my time and am available anytime. I have experience with friends dogs going for walks and playing with them. They all have different temperaments and needs. I will come to your home to look after your pet for dog sitting, and dog walking services. Knowing temperament with other dogs and people as well as energy level and things your dog likes to do. As well as any special diet needs.

About: I am fortunate to have a flexible schedule that allows me to be available to you and your pet on short notice. Not only is my schedule accommodating, so is my home and my pet education. Over the past 14ys, I have been closely involved with many different animal orientated facilities. My personal pup was certified with The Chimo Project which is now called CAAWLS. This organization recruits and certifies wellness animals for Animal Assisted Intervention (AAI) services. Involvement with this company was both rewarding for my pup and myself. I also volunteer my time with Dogs With Wings (DWW). A non-profit organization that does amazing things. DWW is changing lives for the better by training dogs to be guide dogs, service dogs, autism dogs and more. Rest assured, your pet will be well loved and in good care during their stay with me.

About: I have several years of hands on experience working in animal shelters and veterinary clinics, where I cared for dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, temperaments, and medical needs. I’ve worked with everything from energetic puppies to senior dogs, as well as shy, reactive, and anxious pups who need a little extra patience and understanding. I’m also a dog owner myself, so I truly understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I treat every dog in my care as if they were my own — with patience, love, and attention to their individual needs. I work full time at an Animal Shelter currently but I manage my schedule to ensure the pets in my care receive the attention and care they deserve! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent as possible to minimize stress. I follow feeding schedules, walk routines, medication instructions, and any household rules exactly as provided. I understand how important familiarity is for pets, especially when their owners are away. I provide enrichment through walks, playtime, and mental stimulation tailored to your dog’s energy level and personality. I also monitor for any changes in behavior, appetite, or health and will communicate promptly if I notice anything concerning. I can also send updates with pictures if you want!

About: I’ve had dogs in my house since I was very little. I’ve had puppies all the way up to our current senior dogs, one who is losing his vision and hearing. I enjoy walking and will treat your dog as my own. I work from home part time on a very limited/flexible schedule and have plenty of time to dedicate to your furry companion. I look forward to scheduling with you on a regular basis to fit your needs. Our dogs are given the best treatment. We train tricks and routines and remove bad behaviours only through positive reinforcement. One of our current dogs is a rescue dog and we have supported her in this manner.

Karla was very kind and attentive to detail. I felt comfortable giving her directions about how to care for my dogs and she kept me updated throughout her time with them. She also kindly shared her coupon to help make the service more affordable for me which I really appreciated as a student. She checked in after the visit as well to make sure I was satisfied with how she left the dogs and my home and I really appreciated her help! I knew Jasper and Ruby were being well taken care of, thank you Karla!

About: Throughout the years I have fostered and had family pets. I have cared for older and younger dogs and currently have of my own Blue Heeler Zeus 6/yr. Zeus is a seizure response service dog. When I care for other dogs they are given proper exercise and play time. Your dog will get treated and cared for as if it were my own, making sure they're always comfortable. As a pet sitter, dog boarder, and doggy daycare provider, I understand that leaving your dog with someone else can feel stressful. They’re not “just a dog” — they’re family. ❤️ That’s why I strive to create a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where your pup can feel right at home. Whether they’re here for a few hours of daycare, a full day of play, or an overnight stay, they’ll receive plenty of attention, care, affection, and supervision. 🐶 What your pup can look forward to: ✨ Lots of love and attention 🐾 Safe play and exercise 🛏️ Comfortable downtime and rest ❤️ Individual attention based on their personality and needs 🎾 Playtime and enrichment 📸 Updates so you can relax knowing they're doing well 🏡 A home-style environment rather than feeling like they're simply being “left somewhere” Every dog has their own personality, routine, quirks, and comfort level — and I believe those things matter. My goal is for your pup to leave happy, tired, and already looking forward to their next visit! 🐕💕 Because peace of mind for you means a happy pup while you're away. 🐾

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Devon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 98% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
