“Elizabeth was fantastic! She took wonderful care of my dog and kept me updated with frequent messages and pictures, which i really appreciated. She was also very accommodating with my work schedule. My dog came home happy and worn out after full day with her. I’ll absolutely be booking with Elizabeth again; highly recommend!”

“Sonja (and family) were so willing to understand my dog and so caring for the comfort of my dog. They were absolutely perfect at looking after her, I couldn't ask for anything more in the day care of my dog.”

“Great experience! She was very responsive, accommodated our last-minute request, and had great communication throughout the day. She took Rodeo on a walk and sent lots of pictures and updates, which we really appreciated. He was well taken care of, and we’d definitely book with her again!”

“Extremely courteous and caring experience today. My dog was very calm coming home after a full day with Chelsea. Even tho it was raining non stop, she still fit in multiple pee breaks for my very reluctant little dog. Thank you for taking care of Mr. Lolo for me today”

“Harika is an excellent sitter. I contacted her to dog sit (with drop off in 30 minutes) and she responded promptly and accepted my request. Then later I asked for an hour extension and she accommodated me. I ended up being an extra half hour. During my dog’s stay (5 1/2 hrs) she sent me many pictures, fed and walked my dog. The home is very nice and clean. I would absolutely request services again when I have to be in Edmonton. Thanks again!”

“Mariana was amazing with our new puppy Musōka!! She's still not fully vaccinated & this was her first time ever being anywhere new from our house! I was more worried she would be a monster, but it took her no time to warm up to her new surroundings and Mariana & her husband. I got so many updates and pictures along the way it made me feel so safe having her in Marianas care, they live close to alot of walking trails, and dog park that I can't wait for her to go back after all her shots!!! We will absolutely be going back to Mariana next week, Musōka came back so happy, and they were so accomadating! I'd highly recommend Mariana to anyone!”

“Once again nothing but good things to say about Bret. My dog always has a good time playing with his dog, Coco. Sends constant updates, pictures, and videos of my dog enjoying his stay. Highly recommend and will continue to use Bret's service.”

“Robin accepted my last-minute booking request just 8 minutes before drop-off, and I couldn’t be more grateful! Throughout the day, she kept me updated with photos and treated Blue like he was her own dog. Blue had an amazing time playing with Cashew all day. He came back home happy, tired, and clearly had a blast. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was being so well cared for. Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Devon commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
