Thank you Stephanie and Family for taking care of our fur baby. We had never used Rover before and were pleasantly surprised how easy the app was to use and find a pet sitter. We are so grateful to have found Stephanie as she put all our concerns at ease. We have started out with a day sit and it went above and beyond our expectations. Our dog had so much fun at Stephanie's place with her fur baby's. She sent us pictures of the dog's all having fun in their double size backyard. We will be booking with Stephanie and family again! Thank you so much!

Harika is an excellent sitter. I contacted her to dog sit (with drop off in 30 minutes) and she responded promptly and accepted my request. Then later I asked for an hour extension and she accommodated me. I ended up being an extra half hour. During my dog’s stay (5 1/2 hrs) she sent me many pictures, fed and walked my dog. The home is very nice and clean. I would absolutely request services again when I have to be in Edmonton. Thanks again!

About: I have trained dogs of all breeds and love playing and working with them. You can rest easy your doggo is with a very responsible pet owner and sitter. I work from home and bring any board and trains here. Besides going out for a few hours I am normally home all day and night to take care of your pet. I have one hour calls with clients during the day and can make my own schedule. I provide a safe, structured, and loving home environment for every dog in my care. I have two German Shepherds, so for everyone's safety and comfort, I require all guest dogs to be crate trained, and owners must provide their dog's crate. Dogs take turns having free time in the house so everyone gets one-on-one attention and a chance to relax without feeling overwhelmed. When it's their turn, they're welcome to enjoy the furniture and even sleep on my bed if that's what they're used to at home. When they're not out, they rest comfortably in their crate with fresh water and a cozy space to relax. Your dog's well-being is my priority, and I'll follow their feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any special instructions you provide to make sure they feel as comfortable and at home as possible.

Mikayla is so kind, patient and understanding. Her continued communication with us is much appreciated. She is so sweet and loving with Keyco and he has such a great time that he is totally exhausted when he comes home. It's so comforting to know our dog is in such good care and that he's looked after as well as her own Fur Babies.

Liza, thank you so much for taking care of our sweet boy Lenny for the day. Your home is so welcoming and friendly! Kipper was a great friend for Lenny to play with and I could tell right away that they were going to be awesome playmates. Thanks for updating me through the day, with super cute pictures of him sunbathing in the backyard and cuddling your family! It was a relief and allowed me to focus on the things I had to get done. I’m so greatful to have found your daycare and will definitely bring Lenny back when I need support like you’ve given today. You are a kind, animal loving soul and I wish you goodness. See you again! Thank you again too!

I just took my dog for the first time ever to see how he would do. He is almost 16 and has dementia.Andrea tried her best but Gizmo is a tough cookie if I’m not around. I’d absolutely bring him back if he didn’t have dementia it’s a tough thing for a dog and his owner so absolutely tough for someone else. Thank you Andrea for putting Gizmos health first . I appreciate it. Janet

We took our pup Zorro for a day with Carrie and she was great! Zorro has a few behavioural quirks which I explained to Carrie and she handled them like a pro! Zorro came home tuckered out from a fun and engage day at Carrie’s house. Would definitely recommend her!

Amazing couple to have chosen to take care of my dog. I’ve never left him with strangers before so I was a little nervous, but I couldn’t have asked for better people. They kept me updated all day with texts, pictures, videos. They took him in their yard to play, out for walks, and treated him like their own. Wonderful people to trust with your furbabies

About: Leaving home on a vacation and wondering who to trust with your baby? From drop off till pick up, it is my job to ensure your baby is safe and loved in my home. Almost like you never left. I’ve cared for everything from very energetic puppies to senior dogs with specific routines and temperaments, and I’m happy to follow any schedule or instructions you share. Consistency, comfort, and safety are my top priorities whether it’s feeding, walks, or just keeping them company. i work from home so i’d be home with your baby most of the time. I do not have a yard but i do have a field 2mins from me and there your baby could run on leash or we walk to the pond nearby. For dogs that wouldn’t be walking much, there is green area right by the house provide a calm, structured, and pet friendly home where safety and comfort come first. I only board pets from the same household at one time, which helps reduce stress and prevents conflicts. My home is clean, quiet, and well suited for dogs who enjoy a relaxed environment. Pets are supervised throughout the day and are never left unsafely unattended. When I need to step out briefly, dogs are settled in a secure, familiar space based on the owner’s preference (room, kennel, or designated area). I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding routines, walk preferences, and any behavioural considerations. Walks are done safely on leash, with extra care taken to avoid crowded areas or other dogs if needed. I prioritize positive reinforcement, clear boundaries, and consistency to help pets feel comfortable and secure. I treat every pet as if they were my own with patience, attention, and respect for their routine and I keep owners updated so they can feel confident while they’re away.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Calmar

Frequently asked questions about Rover

There are 393 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Calmar. About 91% of Calmar sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalized care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Calmar commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
